This indoor IP Network 1.3 Megapixel Indoor Dome Security Camera (IPID-EL1MP) is the perfect combination of resolution and price. A standard DVR will normally record in CIF (360 x 240) pixels or D1 (704 x 480) resolution. This 1.3 Megapixel IP camera will record up to 1280 x 960 pixels which is 1400% higher resolution than CIF DVR recording and 350% percent higher resolution than D1 DVR recording. This high megapixel IP camera uses a 3.6mm lens to provide a wide overview. It is extremely small and weighs very little so it is ideal for drop ceilings. It can be powered over the ethernet (POE) or using a 12VDC power supply. Of course, this camera is compatible with all of our video management softwares and smart phone applications.

1.3 Megapixel IP Network Indoor Come Security Camera
Review by Tyler Sucha on May 17, 2013
This is a good camera for use as a single camera or for use with a network system where you need the extra "eyes" but aren't overly concerned with super high resolution. The camera records in a 1.3 megapixel resolution at 15 frames per second, but if you prefer the higher "real time" rate of 30 frames per second, the maximum resolution drops to 720P (not a tremendous difference). The camera is still inexpensive for a network IP camera that's why I said I though it was great for use as an add-on to a network where super high resolution (3 megapixels for example) isn't required. In addition, it makes for a great personal one camera system that can be used with a computer for apartment and condominium entrances for example. The low light sensitivity isn't bad. It is rated for 0.1 Lux in color and 0.05 Lux in black and white and of course it has a standard 3.6mm wide angle lens. If you do have a network and a power supply switch, the camera accepts PoE however it does not have a Micro SD card or SD card slot for local recording. It is light and easy to install and I like it.
1.3 Megapixel IP Network Indoor Dome Security Camera

I installed this camera on my front porch, by myself. If I could do it, anyone could do it. I don’t even own a DVR or NVR, I simply access the camera with my personal computer or my smartphone. Although I don’t have a security camera system for my whole home, I must say that after purchasing and using this camera I am considering getting one for the entire area. The camera was easy to install, all I had to do was play the mounting screws and run an Ethernet cable from my router to the camera and two wires from the power supply to the camera. I basically use this camera as a monitor for visitors at my front door so I don’t really need to run it at the “real time” rate so I use it at 15 frames per second, so I can get the highest resolution possible out of it. Since I am an IT tech, I am able to access my camera anytime I want from the server room at work. But even if I weren’t a computer systems specialist, anyone could use their smartphone or personal computer to access the camera. I think the camera works great.

Like most typical 1.3 megapixel network cameras, this camera records 1.3 megapixels at a reduced frame rate of 15 frames per second. It does record resolutions of 720p and lower at up to 30 frames per second, however. The camera is small, light, easy to mount and use. It supports dual stream encoding so although you may be recording in 1.3 megapixels your monitoring resolution will be D1 resolution. This camera has a 3.6mm wide angle lens so you can use it for overview shots but no zooming. With the greatly increased resolution (1.3 megs) there is still a good amount of detail captured even though the lens is only 3.6mm. This camera also has the POE (Power Over the Ethernet) option that eliminates the need for a separate power line run.

Ok, first let me say that I am not a security camera expert so maybe I am missing something here. But, as far as I am concerned, this camera is OK and that's just about it. I mean, I can buy a 1.3 megapixel webcam at Wal-Mart for about $15. Not only that, but it can only capture video at a resolution of 1.3 megs at 15 frames per second. t doesn't capture at real time rates (30 frames per second) until you drop the resolution down to 720p. That being said, I guess if you are a non professional that want to do some non-professional security recording you would be better off with a webcam. On the other hand, if you are a big department store or something and you need to have a lot of these, I can see where the webcam idea definitely wouldn't work. I think it will be interesting to watch the reviews on this camera overtime as technology increases and prices at this resolution drop.

This is an excellent camera for the category of cameras that it is in. I think any megapixel camera that can be purchased for less than $180 has got to be a good buy. This camera has a standard 3.6 mm dome lens that gives a wide angle or good overview shot. The difference between this megapixel overview and an analog overview can't compare though when you look at the recorded video. It does record in 1.3 megapixels at 15 frames per second or if you area stickler for real time recording rates (30 frames per second) it can record at 720p. It is also dual stream encoding which means it sends out a D1 resolution stream for monitoring. SO if you record at 1.3 megapixels you'll get a monitoring D1 at 15 frames per second and if you record at 720p you'll get a D1 resolution for monitoring at 30 frames per second. It's a true day/night camera with a minimum lighting rating of 0.1 LUX in color and 0.05 LUX in black and white. Again, this could be lower but for a camera in this price range I think it is good. Its a good quality lower end megapixel network camera and it is compatible with all of Security Camera King's software applications too.

I bought this camera from Security Camera King a few months ago. I really haven't had any problems with it, but I'm not overly impressed with it either. That might be because I am pretty familiar with IP Network cameras and used to looking and their fine quality video pictures. This is one of those cameras that doesn't deviate from that, but it really only does 1.3 megapixels at 15 frames per second. If you want to record at a full real time rate of 30 frames per second, you're going to have to drop the resolution down a bit to 720p. It does have dual encoding however and the sub stream that's sent for monitoring is able to reach D1 at 30 frames per second. It's got a fixed 3.6 mm lens so wide angle and overview shots are what you get. The description of the camera on Security Camera King's page says it has a 50 foot infrared mode range, but I actually get closer to a little over 60 feet in total darkness. The LEDs work pretty good and the camera has a CDS cell switch so the infrared mode comes on automatically when the lights get low.

This camera is like the bottom end of the IP Network cameras. That is it is at the lower end of the megapixel spectrum at 1.3 megapixels. Basically, I think it is the IP network camera equivalent of the analog 600 TVL camera that Security Camera King offers with their analog package systems. It's not bad at all, and the price makes it possible for individuals to enter the real of IP Network security camera security without going broke. The camera is a piece of cake to install, not much to it but a few screws. You don't even have to run a separate power line if you have a power switch on your network because it can take Power Over the Ethernet or POE, so all you need is one CAT5E cable for everything. It's got a 3.6 mm lens so its a wide angle overview camera but with the high resolution you really don't miss a thing. It records 1.3 megapixels at 15 frames a second and can record 720p (not a whole lot smaller) at 30 frames per second, or as Security Camera King calls it, "real time." It also send out a dual stream, one for recording and one in less resolution for monitoring to save band width usage. Regardless of the recording resolution, you still get a good clear D1 resolution for monitoring (at the same frame rate your main chosen resolution is at). I think it's a great buy and great camera!

I like it. It is easy to mount and simple to use. I'd give it a full five star rating if it recorded at 1.3 megapixels at 30 frames per second, but this camera can apparently only handle that resolution at a rate of 15 frames per second. However, it's not like all's lost; it will record 720p at 30 frames per second at this is still pretty good. Good economy network camera!

How can you find anything negative to say about an IP megapixel camera? I mean, comparing Security Camera King's IP megapixel network cameras to an analog TVL camera is like comparing a Lamborghini to a Chevette! This camera doesn't have a lot of fancy features but don't get me wrong it still has its fair share. But it does produce a nice clear, sharp, color video with and extremely high resolution of up to 1.3 megapixels (or 1280 X 960). It can record 1.3 Megapixel resolution at a maximum of 15 frames per second which isn't as fast as "real-time" or 30 frames per second but it is still pretty good. If you are looking for a real time recorded frame rate of 30 frames per second you'll have to drop the resolution to 720P, which in my opinion, is still far better than a 700 TVL analog camera. I think this is the camera that Security Camera King sells with all of their IP megapixel NVR package system deals. It has a 3.6 mm fixed lens that provide an overview or wide angle shot. (imagine what a camera with this high of resolution and a 20X optical zoom would look like!) The camera also supports dual streams to reduce total bandwidth so while it is sending one stream to the NVR at 1.3 megapixels for example, it is sending a D1 resolution at the same frame rate to your display monitor. These is really a low price for a network camera and probably one of the lower priced better quality cameras you can find.

I've been installing a lot of IP megapixel cameras lately. I think as more and more customers, business accounts especially, become network savvy they are also leaning that way with their security camera systems. Not only that, but when customers see a demonstration of the difference between an analog and an IP network system they are astounded by the difference. Most of my customers purchase this camera because when they see the quantum leap in resolution and video recording quality of a megapixel camera their addicted or sold from that point forward. This camera is also one of the cheaper IP cameras that allows megapixel resolution for less than $180 at Security Camera King. It may be worth noting that this camera records at 1.3 megapixels at a frame rate of 15 frames per second and it records at 720p at 30 frames per second. Regardless of whether you go with 1.3 megapixels or 720p it sends another stream for monitoring at D1 resolution (at 15 fps with 1.3 megapixels and 30 fps at 720p). I'm not sure what the significance is (if it was just manufactured that way because of the natural component size or if because of intended design) but this camera is much smaller than an "ordinary" dome camera, especially the dome. Needless to say, the small size does NOT reduce the quality of the recording. The camera has a 3.6 mm lens and also can use POE (Power Over the Ethernet). About the only feature this camera does NOT have is the ability to record as a stand alone using a multi gigabyte micro SD card.
