Our TP-BC-HD1080 is compatible only with HD-SDI DVRs. This box security camera has all the benefits of a 2 Megapixel IP box camera but without the need to network or the bandwidth restrictions. This camera is ideal for customers that want to upgrade their existing CCTV security camera system to Megapixel resolution without having the need to pull all new ethernet cables. It is also perfect for the customer that does not want to have to worry about configuring IP addresses for each camera or about the intensive bandwidth use of Megapixel IP cameras. This is a Day/Night box camera so it will switch to black and white automatically in low light.

If you want the high quality resolution of an HD-SDI system and prefer the box camera, this is about the only choice you have right now. But, the choice is a good one. This camera produces a great 1080p resolution real time picture and I can see where the quality of these systems is so high that these and the network megapixel cameras will eventually make the analog (TVL resolution) cameras obsolete. Of course, as you probably are already aware, one of the biggest advantages to using these new systems is that you can use existing coaxial cable. I probably didn't need to go this far, but when I installed this system, I cut off the old BNC connectors and installed new ones to make sure I'd have a good connection. I had absolutely no problems. These cameras were all installed indoors so I can't say much about outdoor use. But the picture quality is grade and the colors are true. The cameras are even low light sensitive; they are rated at 0.001 LUX. The camera has several built in electronic features including wide dynamic range, mirror image, and bright light compensation. It also comes with an On Screen Display (OSD) menu that can be controlled with the push buttons located on the back of the camera. Nice camera, great picture, and pretty easy to use.

If you own an HD-SDI DVR and you like box cameras this is probably a good choice. I recently upgraded my old analog system to HD-SDI and have tried out a few different HS-SDI cameras. I'm not a "box camera" only kind of customer, but I thought I would give this one a try to see how it works comparatively to some of the other 1080P HD-SDI cameras. I have been dealing with Security Camera King for a few years so I know that quality won't be an issue, it's just how the camera performs compared to other types that I am curious about and its relative price. This box camera comes with and alarm input and an OSD with a lot of beneficial features. The OSD is controlled by the buttons located on the back of the camera and there is no option for a remote RS485 control the OSD. The OSD does have several useful features including wide dynamic range, Sense up, white balance, noise reduction and back light compensation to name a few. It does have one unusual feature that is called High Light Control (HLC). This control allow you to mask and compensate for high light areas to ensure the correct exposure of the capture. I guess this is probably similar to Head Light Compensation found on other cameras. Overall, the picture is great and the camera operates without any difficulties. However, you can purchase other forms of cameras (bullets or domes for example) at about the same price without the additional cost of a lens, which is needed for the box camera. On the other hand, the box camera does give you the flexibility of choosing exactly what type of lens you desire. The 1080p resolution picture is magnificent and the OSD features are good but I think when compared to other cameras the price is a bit high so I am rating it at 4 stars.

Haha. I read the first review by the customer that purchased the Security Camera King 1080p HD-SDI bullet camera and said "Move over box camera there is a new sheriff in town"..lol. I got new for him, the box is back! And man, what a nice sleek camera. This box camera pumps out a 1080p resolution (or as the specifications like to put it, 1000 TVL) at 30 frames per second. It's got a great true day/night CMOS sensor that has a minimum illumination rating down to 0.001 LUX. It comes with it's own built in On Screen Display menu with the controls for the menu on the back of the camera. It's got wide dynamic range, automatic white balance, and all the other features you would expect from a high quality camera. The picture is amazing. It hooked up fine to our existing cabling and we would recommend this camera to anyone looking for the new HD-SDI box type.
