This is the TP-OD-HDIR100-W which is a 1080p HD-SDI 2 Megapixel camera that is only compatible withg HD-SDI DVRs. This HD camera offers all the benefits of a 2 Megapixel IP camera without any of the drawbacks. It requires no networking. This camera will connect to the DVR using conventional coax cable like RG59 or RG6. This means that you can upgrade your existing CCTV camera system without replacing the cables. Typically most expense is in the labor of pulling and running new ethernet cables in order to upgrade to IP cameras. Additionally, unlike IP cameras, these cameras will not use up your valuable bandwidth. This indoor/outdoor dome has a varifocal 2.8 - 12mm lens with up to 100'ft of infrared LED. It is ideal for very detailed overviews. You will be amazed at the resolution.

Amazing camera! When you first look at this camera it basically looks like any other low resolution analog camera that usually sells in the $50 price range; but don't let that fool you. These new HD-SDI cameras and systems as a whole are amazing. You truly do get 1080P resolution out of this camera at 30 frames per second and it pumps all of that along a (existing if you had a previous analog system) coaxial cable. I actually like the HD-SDI system better because my cameras are all cranking high resolution videos to the recorder without eating up the bandwidth on my network (which isn't large). However, the DVR is still network accessible so you get the advantage of both worlds. This camera even comes with a varifocal lens (2.8 to 12mm) so it gives you some zoom opportunity as well. Believe me, between the varifocal lens and the 1080p resolution, there shouldn't be much detail you'll miss with these cameras if you set them up right. The camera has an infrared mode of course (with all those LEDs around the lens it better) and it can give you about a 100 foot range. It also has an OSD although the On Screen Display doesn't really contain any real fancy features, just basic settings. Nonetheless, this is a great camera and generally it seems to be priced a little cheaper than an equivalent network camera (and you don't need an NVR).

Extraordinary! The picture of an HD-SDI camera and DVR system is just simply incredible. We recently had this camera installed as the "basic" camera (is there such a thing as a "basic" type HD-SDI camera?) for our brand new Security Camera King HD-SDI security camera system. Our security camera installer recommended that we visit the HD-SDI systems and cameras on your page and highly recommended that since we were removing our old system and replacing it with a new IP network type system, we may want to check this out because in the long haul, it would save us money. We have seen an IP megapixel system in action and we were totally enthralled with the difference in quality between it and our old analog system. So when he mentioned this, we couldn't believe that it was possible to obtain that kind of quality video without having an actual IP network camera system. We were skeptical, but we have always trusted his judgment with our security systems and he has done a great job so we went ahead. This Security Camera King TP-OD-HDIR100-W was our camera of choice. It captures extremely fine detail, has great color reproduction, and produces a sharp image. Plus it has an adjustable lens and a fairly long range infrared mode.

You know I don't care what kind of electronics it is, they have always had a type of "planned obsolescence." A newer electronic device always forces the retirement of an older device as technology and information continues to increase. (Any one have a black and white TV, how about a 3.5 inch floppy disk?) When I first heard of the new megapixel high resolution cameras that was my first thought; something to replace the 700 TVL color analog camera with. So now, if I want high resolution, I have to go out and purchase an entirely new system, DVR, cameras and cable. As many people are aware, often times the most challenging task to installing a security camera system is running the cable; through walls, over ceilings, up poles, in and out of eaves and soffits. Well, I have to admit that the invention of these HD-SDI cameras (and systems) are one of the best uses of the application of new technology with out the advent of total planned obsolescence. In other words, they give you the ability to upgrade your system today's new technology without the need for replacing EVERYTHING, especially the cable. This 2 megapixel (1080p) HD-SDI camera from Security Camera King works great! It got an amazing resolution of course, and an infrared range of about 100 feet. It just as easy to mount as an analog camera and comes with its own OSD as well. Of course you'll need a n HD-SDI DVR, but it allows you all the benefits of a network camera without the hassle of rerunning wire and requiring a network! I like it and would definitely recommend it to others!

I've been waiting for these for a while now. Why re-run all your cable runs with CAT5 Ethernet cable just to get megapixel resolution when you want to move from an analog type camera to a megapixel camera. Don't get me wrong, IP Network hookups are fine, especially if the location already comes pre-wired, but many of us have "evolved" with the security camera industry over the years and are still using RG59 or RG6 that's already in place. That's what is so nice about Security Camera King's new TP-OD-HDIR100-W 1080p HD-SDI dome camera. New technology provides for serially transmitted high definition video over a coaxial type cable (versus an Ethernet type cable) with out the added expense of rewiring your whole system. This camera has an AMAZING video picture at 1080p and 30 frames per second. It includes a built in cable line button joystick for control of the On Screen Display menu that includes the ability to switch back and forth between 1080p and 720p resolution. This dome has a 4mm overview lens that is surrounded by 42 (yes, I counted them) infrared LEDs that give it a working infrared range in total darkness of about 100 feet. On the outside, it may look like a typical analog 600 or 700 TVL dome camera but on the inside, when you see the video recording, the difference will hit you square in the eye!
