Our Elite Series DVR features embedded Linux OS, remote monitoring from anywhere in the world, audio recording on all channels and H.264 compression. This is NOT a PC based DVR which is subject to viruses and hacking. This is a standalone unit built for only one purpose - the best quality video surveillance in the world.
The Elite Series DVR is the state-of-the-art in digital surveillance technology. This DVR features professional grade components and is manufactured to industrial standards. Its advanced functionality makes this one of the best standalone systems on the market today.
This unit is all about versatility. With HDMI, VGA and BNC Video outputs, you can operate several different monitors simultaneously. And, with the included Matrix output, you can also run a separate monitor that can be programmed to display a completely different series of cameras! Need to output a single camera to its own monitor? This is not a problem with our built-in loop connectors. Every channel has its own BNC output that can be used to provide video to a monitor, a multiplexer, or anywhere you need it!
The Elite Series utilizes H.264 hardware compression to bring you great quality video while maximizing your hard disk storage capacity. This DVR is capable of recording CIF resolution on all channels at 30fps and D1 resolution on all channels at 7fps simultaneously.
The Elite Series DVR is amazingly simple to setup and operate. An intuitive mouse-driven interface provides very simple point-and-click control over all functions and settings. In addition, the unit also includes an IR remote control. The jog shuttle control can be used to easily fast forward, rewind, and advance frame by frame. Up to 16 channels can be played back at the same time at the DVR, and 4 channels can be played back via the web interface or client software.
The built-in Web server allows you to perform most every function of the DVR remotely with Internet Explorer. Client software is also included to allow you to centrally monitor multiple Elite Series units simultaneously. Two-way audio over the network or Internet is also standard on the Elite Series. So, not only can you hear what is going on, you can interact. This DVR supports up to 10 simultaneous network or Internet users. With Dynamic DNS support, it is not necessary to have a static IP address on your network in order to remotely access this DVR. This saves you money, as most ISPs charge extra for a static IP address.
Having the ability to remotely view your system is great, but what if you are on the road and just can't monitor your system all the time. This is no problem with the Elite Series DVRs highly flexible email capability. Just set up a standard POP email account and have the system email you anywhere based on any criteria you choose. Many of our customers have emails sent to their cell phone for real time alerts. You choose email triggers that you want, and the DVR does the rest.
Storage capacity will never be a problem with the Elite Series DVR. Up to 4 SATA hard disk drives can be installed if no burner is mounted, and up to 3 SATA drives can be installed if you choose to use the DVD-RW drive. In addition, the DVR supports eSATA to allow you to use removable external eSATA drives to store your footage. RAID hard disk management keeps your data safe from hard drive failures, while FTP backup and recording functionality ensures your video is safe even if the DVR is destroyed.
Video can be backed up to a DVD-RW or a USB thumb drive for safe keeping or in the event that you must give the footage to the police. Video can also be saved right on your PC for easy access.
The easy 3D mouse operated PTZ control allows you to control any PTZ camera. Just click on the screen and drag your mouse around. The PTZ camera follows the mouse pointer so you can smoothly and accurately follow any objects of interest.
This system runs on a rock solid Linux embedded OS, with embedded web server, and digital signal processors to bring you the most powerful network-based digital video recorder available. This high end system will provide you with everything you need other than a monitor. If you tie the system into your network, you wont even need a monitor to view your DVR.
The Elite Series DVR comes with an industry leading FULL 3 YEAR WARRANTY !!
And don't forget that we provide support for every step of your installation project.
***Please note: In most cases we will be able to remotely assist you in the configuration of your computer network for remote DVR viewing. However, we cannot be responsible for complex network configuration or the performance of your internet connection.***

16 Channel Elite Series H.264 Realtime Security DVR
Review by Lymen, Paul (Ohio USA) on Apr 09, 2013
This DVR comes with 3 simultaneous display options, in other words you can use three full display monitors at the same time using HDMI, VGA, and BNC connections plus you make use of the video matrix output that allows you to designate a specific monitor to display a specific set of cameras. What's more, each camera has a BNC loop-out connection so you can hook up a spot monitor if needed. This DVR records all channels at CIF at 30 frames per second and can record channels 1 and 9 at D1 resolution at 30 frames per second. The DVR also has an OSD which can be controlled by the buttons of the front panel, the included USB mouse or the included infrared remote control. The DVR can also record up to 16 channels of audio and accept up to 16 channels of alarm inputs. It can be programmed so that motion detection of a camera can set off and external alarm device or and external alarm sensor can initiate the recording of a camera. There is also privacy masking, a one channel lock out where you can black out one channel from monitoring view but still record it and so many other useful features. This unit also has full Internet remote capability. You can actually control it remotely or monitor the cameras using a personal computer, iPad, or smartphone. In addition, you can have the DVR send you e-mails to alert you when recording for a camera with motion detection has been initiated. If you need to make copies or back up files you can purchase a DVD burner (and have Security Camera King install it at the time of purchase). Need I say more?
16 Channel Elite Series H.264 Realtime Security DVR

I think this is a pretty good DVR although I see it being used more for commercial or enterprise use more than anything else. My boss purchased this DVR to replace our old one but if it had been me, I would have spent the $180 more to have the Ultimate Series that can display the D1 resolution at 30 frames per second. I suggest, that unless you need to completely max out the internal storage, buy the internal DVD burner because it's nice to have and you can't beat the $37.95 price and that includes Security Camera King installing it for you! If you need more hard drive storage you can always take advantage of the eSATA external drive option. The display of the DVR is very, very good. The recordings are crisp, clear, and color correct. The D1 resolution is definitely and improvement over CIF. We use a Security Camera King brand PTZ camera with our unit and they work together very well. In fact you can position the PTZ camera by just using the DVR's USB mouse and clicking and dragging where you want the camera to go or zoom. You can look for the specification(s) or feature(s) that you need by reading the "Description" and "Specification" tabs or by downloading the Adobe Acrobat file of the specifications under the "Downloads" tab. I don't think there isn't anything that you won't be able to find.
16 Channel Elite Series H.264 Realtime Security DVR -- My Perspective

A review can be written from several different points of view and targeted to several different types of audiences. I could write this review to tell Security Camera King what I think about their DVR or to tell the customer what I think about Security Camera King's DVR. There are many more aspects but I won't delay; let's just say this is my perspective of the Security Camera King 16 Channel Elite Series H.264 DVR. Let me begin by saying I really like it. The DVR is really the core of a security camera system and it should be a high performer and very dependable. This DVR meets both criteria. It seems to have no problem handling the workload sent to it by the recording 16 cameras. (Remember, the DVR not only receives the one-way analog signal from the camera but then has to digitize it, compress it, and finally store it for each camera that is recording!) I record audio on some of my channels and the DVR certainly has no problem managing the video and audio together. Because I record audio, I chose to use an HDMI connected LCD monitor. This way I don't have to worry about setting up separate devices to hear the audio when I want, I can just do it through my LCD monitor (TV). The DVR is excellent for all kinds of uses but especially for commercial use as it not only records 16 cameras at once in CIF resolution, but two of those channels can also record the larger D1 resolution at the same frame rate of 30 frames per second. We use both of these for our checkout area. The DVR has a system of on screen menus or GUI (Graphical User Interface) that is pretty user friendly. It takes a little getting used to but it is not anything more difficult than learning to use a new software program. The DVR offers plenty of video storage potential and variations to allow for a DVD burner. I don't how it handles all of this digital work, but it is also capable of being remotely accessed from the Internet using computers, smartphones, and tablets for example. All I can say is ours has performed for about six months now and we have never had a problem with it. Furthermore, it continues to create excellent, high quality video!

Excellent DVR. I'm not the best do-it-yourselfer in the world but I thought I would try to install my system myself. It turns out it wasn't very difficult at all. I had a few questions along the way so I contacted Security Camera King's support department and they answered every one and help get things running smooth. (One note about their support department, they are EXCELLENT technicians and very willing to help. They are also located at Security Camera King in Florida, not China, India or whatever. However, as such, they are only available during normal weekly business hours, no evenings, and no weekends.) The DVR works great and recordings are of excellent quality. It's amazing to me that this machine can run as many tasks at once like it does. I think of my computer and how it can handle a few, but nothing like this. If you're looking to purchase this unit, you won't be disappointed.

Our company has had a long time running personnel case that they have not been able to solve, until they purchased the Security Camera King 16 Channel Elite Series H.264 Real time Security DVR. This case has actually gone to litigation with criminal charges and is currently awaiting a civil suit as well, hence the "Remain Anonymous" author name. The fact of the matter is that these things do happen in real life and you may be looking through the reviews because of a similar situation so I thought it was important to provide a review. Our case involves an employee to employee sexual harassment case that included the charged employee with malicious phone calls and leaving another employee suggestive letters or notes on their desk when they weren't around. Our company decided that the only way to catch the "perpetrator" (if that's the right word) was to set up a covert camera recording system. That's where the Security Camera King 16 Channel Elite Series DVR comes in. We needed a DVR with a DVD burner AND enough total (internal and/or external) hard drive storage to support continuous recording of the cameras on a continuous basis. (Motion detection recording wouldn't work as there is always movement within the offices.) Along with the DVR Security Camera King's 700 TVL Motion Detector Hidden Cameras and the 630 TVL Smoke Detector Hidden Cameras were used. These cameras didn't arouse suspicion because to many employees they went unnoticed or they had assumed they were part of an upgrade to our alarm system. The DVR worked great with these cameras and recorded the exact actions that were necessary to "incriminate" the employee. We have used the DVD burner several times to copy "evidential recordings" for distribution to the proper authorities. In other words the DVR and cameras did their job and the problem is solved. Now we simply use the system for general workplace security and it works great!

It's hard to outdo this DVR. About the only other thing you could do to improve upon it would be to increase the recording display to D1 or higher (like the Ultimate or Federal Units). Actually, this DVR can even record at D1 but at a "less that real-time" frame rate of 7 frames per second on all channels. However, that being said, the Elite Series DVR does record 14 channels in CIF and 2 channels in D1 simultaneously at 30 frames per second. I had some unusual circumstances with my installation ( I self installed my system) and I contacted Security Camera King's support people. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and very willing to help and that is very unusual compared to a lot of other web sites I've checkout. Calling their support numbers, if you can get through, usually leaves you with someone in China or India that can barely speak English, let alone solve your problem. This is quality and you know it when you see it work.
We really like this 16 channel Elite DVR. It does a great job of recording all 16 channels simultaneously at CIF resolution and at 30 frames per second. We don't use it as much for realtime monitoring as we do for recording and documenting so the large or full size DVR case unit provides us with lots of space for internal hard disk drive storage. We've got this unit mounted on our rack with the NAS-4 unit eSATA storage drive mounted directly beneath. Archiving footage is important to us so we do what we call "system dumps" where we back up the entire set of storage drives so we can start recording again "fresh and new." With all of our drives working, we easily get 3 months of recording without the need for overwriting until we "dump" this footage and start again. Incidentally, with such long turnaround times, crashes and reboots would be a problem for us but we have never had one occur yet. In addition to the video recording, we have taken advantage of the 16 channel alarm input and installed alarm triggers on our entrances, windows, and even the door and other devices associated with our server room. We also use about four of the audio inputs for recording. We use a standard LCD TV/Monitor with an HDMI cable to monitor and display our main output for the DVR. This is convenient because we are able to maintain video and audio at the same time. We also use the video matrix output to setup a separate monitor system solely for monitoring the cameras associated with our server room. We also take advantage of the remote accessibility option via the Internet connection. This is incredibly convenient, especially for use with our iPhones. In summary, this is a very high quality DVR with many, many features and extra options and I think you will be more than satisfied with its performance. I know we are.
Excellent Full Size Unit with CIF Recording and Plenty of Storage Space Available

Just like the Elite Mini, the Security Camera King 16 Channel Elite Series H.264 Realtime Security DVR can record all 16 channels simultaneously at CIF resolution and 30 frames per second. Even more impressive is that the DVR can record all 16 channels simultaneously at D resolution at a reduced framer rate of 7 frames per second. But that's just the tip of the iceberg! This full size DVR comes loaded with a bunch of features and options including the potential to max out internal hard drive storage at a full 12 Terabytes. This DVR can also handle up to 16 channels of audio input, 16 channels of alarm trigger inputs, and 6 channels of alarm outputs at 12 VDC each. The video options are numerous too. HDMI, VGA, and BNC video connections are available (I like the HDMI because it is the most "universal" at the present time and it can carry audio along with 1080p video), as well as various display options such as a BNC output for a loop out or spot monitor for every channels and an output for video matrixing. If you don't need to max out the internal hard drive capacity you can choose to have Security Camera King install an optional DVD burner in the unit. The DVR also has an eSATA port for external SATA hard drives. You can also back up the files to your computer using FTP. Also, this unit comes with full PTZ camera control via the RS485 and can also perform 3D mouse positioning for your PTZ. The bottom dollar is, this unit is loaded. It performs well, has lots of options, and still comes with a full 3 year warranty.
Security Camera King's 16 Channel Elite Series H.264 Realtime Security DVR is a Customer Favorite!

This DVR has been one of the biggest sellers for my commercial clients. I believe that is because of the high quality performance and numerous features that it has to offer. When I mention to my customers that this DVR cannot only record 14 Channels at CIF and 2 Channels at D1 realtime (plus 16 channels of audio), but can also act as an alarm central monitor they are usually thrilled that they are getting two different security systems in one. The three year warranty on this DVR is also impressive. As for me, the DVR is very easy to install and set up and works great with not only Security Camera King cameras but with many other types as well. The HDMI output is so convenient as it brings video and audio out through one single connection. I don't think there is a TV/Monitor made these days without an HDMI connection so it is pretty universal too. With all this high resolution recording on so many channels it can eat up a lot of hard drive space in no time so the 12 Tb potential internal storage is a big plus. The PTZ mouse control is also nice. Overall I have to rate this unit five stars out of five.
I'm the owner of a bowling alley and I recently installed a 16 camera security system that included the Security Camera King 16 channel Elite Series H.264 Realtime Security DVR. The DVR works well and I like all the different connections, settings, and features that come along with it. My cameras are all in place and the DVR is working but as I write this I am still in the process of connection alarm inputs and outputs to the DVR. We have several areas within the bowling alley that just can't be seen from the front desk including our vending area, restaurant/beverage bar and sitting area, and our video lottery machines area. The main monitor is at our clerks counter so he/she can look at any particular area when they need to. Also, we've used the video matrix output feature to provide a monitor for our maintenance supervisor of the pin setter machines area behind the lanes so he'll always know where the mechanics are at (it helps tremendously on league nights when call outs are made for malfunctioning machines or thrown pins.) So far, the CIF resolution for recording has been good enough for us. And I'm also glad I bought the DVD burner as two nights after I had the system installed I had to call the police because someone had come into the bowling alley with a handgun. The police asked if I could possibly burn a DVD of the footage of that event and I said, "No problem." As soon as I get a router for my Internet connection, I intend to use the remote access functions as well. This is a nice system with a lot of extra features!
