16 Channel Video Balun Transceiver (Passive)

If you've got a 16 channel CAT5 job and don't want to be bogged down with 16 individual baluns hanging of your CAT5 cables, this 16 channel transceiver is a good solution for keeping things neat and tidy. In addition it's just the right size for rack mounting too. If you have a central location close to all of your cameras that you can install a second 16 channel balun (rarely is this the case though) I recommend that too. Otherwise, you can use individual baluns on the camera ends of the CAT5 for great low-degradable signals.

Helps Provide a Clean, Strong Signal When Converting BNC to Cat5

Review by Walt Eccles, IT Specialist on Sep 28, 2012
We have a CCTV security camera system installed in our offices. When the building was constructed the rooms were all pre-wired with several Cat5 jacks. Instead of running exposed coaxial cable wire, we decided to use the Cat5 jacks with all our cameras. We use this to eliminate interference from other cables, the metal walls studs, and to convert the BNC connections to Cat5. Works great, especially for a passive unit.

Give your Signal A Boost!
Review by Jackson, K (Tennessee) on Aug 20, 2012
A must admit that for some reason I was leery of a full 16 channel passive balun actually working hard enough to boost and filter the signal. I thought for sure it would take a much more expensive Active Balun for sure. Imagine my surprise when, after installation, I connected my cameras to the balun and then to the DVR and they worked beautifully! No interference, no signal loss, and clear, correct video. If you have a fairly long CAT 5 run to make on your system you need to try one of these. They work great!
