2 Megapixel IP Network Box Security Camera
Review by Scott Lemon on Mar 26, 2014
This megapixel box camera is a keeper. The picture is great. Excellent definition accompanied by a very sharp color image with fluid motion. The camera has all the connections, features and enhancements I think you could possibly want or ask for. This box camera even comes with its own power supply if you don't have PoE. Make sure you get the proper lens!

I hate to sound old and out of date, but I can remember not to long ago when a 420TVL camera seemed to be the hottest thing on the market. I wonder how long it will take for the 2 megapixel camera to become obsolete. Well, this one should hang in there for a while, because it is so versatile and it does deliver an excellent video recording. I had no problems attaching the lens and mounting the camera (the BNC connector works great for connecting a service monitor to make all the necessary adjustments). I also use the audio and input/output and the alarm connections as well. I have no complaints. The camera works great, seems to be very sturdy and robust, and Security Camera King offers great support.

Nice camera, great definition in the video and great all around performance. This is one of those "universal" type IP network cameras that can do just about everything from record to an NVR, Hybrid, DVR, computer, or itself using local storage media. It's got all those goodies including dual voltage capability and instead of listing them all you can check them out. The only down side is that you don't get much of an variety of selection for lenses (because you should sue the Security Camera King megapixel camera lens) so you are limited to the 3.3 to 12mm varifocal length it offers. Also, if you consider the cost of the camera and lens (and possibly an enclosure for outdoor use) it might be cheaper to use the Security Camera King 2 Megapixel bullet camera with the varifocal lens instead.

This is an excellent 2 megapixel camera. Like many of these IP network cameras this camera is more like a camera and mini NVR all in one. Not only can you record to your NVR system but you can use the camera to record to a computer or even as a standalone and record to it's own on board memory card. The video is supreme quality, great detail, and pretty much flawless. The camera is loaded with features including dual voltage, alarm, audio, etc. In addition, you get free lifetime support from Security Camera King's technical support department which I must admit is like no other I have ever encountered. These guys are very knowledgeable about the product and they aren't satisfied until you are satisfied.

This camera is like one of those universal one size fits all type kind of devices. It captures great color and black and white video and is pretty low light sensitive without the video becoming overly "grainy" in those situations. I call it "universal" or "one-size-fits-all" because of all the features and functions that it has to make it applicable to just about any video security camera use. For example, it is an IP network 2 megapixel camera yet it has a regular BNC connection on the back for monitoring on a standard DVR. It can be recorded to by an NVR but it also has its own web server embedded so you can send its stream over the network or Internet to your computer or smartphone and it supports multiple users. On the other hand, you don't have t record it to an NVR or any of those devices as it has a slot on the back for an SD card so you can record high resolution video locally without worrying about a network connection. Finally in addition to the audio input and outputs it also has alarm connections and even dual voltage so if you need to place this camera somewhere far away from an NVR or office or whatever, you can record to the SD card and use 24V AC power so you don't have to worry about voltage drops for a long power supply run. Amazing.

I purchased this camera along with Security Camera King's 3.3 -12mm 1/2.7 inch Megapixel IP camera Lens and I get truly outstanding quality video captures. The camera comes with "a little bit of everything" for features. The back of the box has an RJ45 connection for an Ethernet cable, dual voltage connections so you can use 12V DC or 24V AC, audio in and out, a BNC video out and alarm connections. Outstanding camera.

You can't beat the view, so to speak. The Security Camera King IP megapixel lens is a must as it works great with this camera. The camera can handle dual voltage input for either 12 or 24 Volt systems and also has a slot for a 32 Gig Micro SD card so you can record without an NVR if you want to. Low light sensitivity isn't bad, but isn't super either. However, the video this camera captures is really superb.

What a picture! This camera has such high resolution potential that the smallest details can be recognized. The video it captures is clean, sharp, colorful and of the utmost quality. The camera box is a little funky in shape compared to standard box cameras of the past, but it far exceeds all my expectations!

2 Megapixel IP Network Box Security Camera Will Definitely Do The Job!

Actually, I'm not a big fan of box cameras because they usually seem to be more expensive than other types of cameras and they aren't incredibly more versatile for the extra cost with the exception of having the latitude to use different lenses for different purposes. However, Security Camera King recommends only on lens for this camera and that their IP camera lens which is also one of the most expensive lens types and there are no variations for example different lenses with different/linger focal lengths). However, as far as recording video is concerned this camera would be hard to beat. The camera records in either 1080p or 720p both at 30 frames per second and shoots a second monitoring stream of D1 resolution simultaneously. The video is very detailed, very accurate, sharp, clear, and color correct. The detail the camera picks up is amazing. This means that for long/wide shots you can see a lot of items clearly (a parking lot for example) and for close shots you can see fine detail of small items (currency denomination for example). It works great with the Security Camera King hybrid DVR/NVR but doesn't have to. The camera comes with a Micro SD card slot for recording right to the card without the need to be connected to the network. It also has a BNC connection so you could record to the card and monitor it with your DVR if you like. It's a good camera if you can afford the total cost.

Good IP network 2 megapixel camera. Captures great detail and when fitted with the proper lens can provide some extremely good images. The light sensitivity could be a little better as it is rated 0.2 Lux for color and 0.01 Lux for black and white which is okay but not great. This camera also has a BNC video out connection so you can connect it to a separate BNC monitor for example. Voltage wise, it is dual so either power supply systems work. I don't use the audio functions but it does have an audio in and audio out jack. Overall for IP network box cameras I would rate this at 4 stars and would not hesitate to purchase it again.
