2 Megapixel IP Network Bullet IR Security Camera
Review by Meador, Sue (California USA) on Mar 26, 2014
This has proven to be a very useful camera and the customer is very satisfied with its performance. The camera is easy to mount and the mount itself is stable. The camera is weatherproof so it can be used outside and has an adjustable outer sun visor. The video image is spectacular at 1080p resolution with the finest details being detected even with a 3.6mm wide angle lens. There is no loss of clarity or detail in the black and white infrared mode and the LEDs do a pretty thorough job of illuminating all objects within a 50 foot range. The camera has a lot of video image enhancing features like digital wide dynamic range and motion detection to name a few. The set and configuration was easy using standard IP configurations. Security Camera King has a great technical support department as well.

I like this camera a lot! I don't really have anything bad to say about it. There are tons of features and I use a lot of them including the digital wide dynamic range. If you are not familiar with that term, it basically helps compensate for shadows caused by back lighting that would ordinarily darken out your area of interest. The camera actually produces two different videos. One video is the video that it records at 2 megapixels and then it also produces a second video at a lower resolution for remote access viewing so as not to slow down your smartphone. It works good at night too in the infrared mode.

As a professional independent CCTV camera installer and security specialist, I highly recommend this camera. It provides a great overview shot with its 3.6 mm lens and with the older low resolution cameras that could be a bit of an issue because the wide angle and low resolution would yield a video without out much detail and/or clarity. Not anymore with a camera like this. Regardless how wide (or close) the shot, this camera provides excellent detail and clarity, it is color correct and the IR black and white mode does not sacrifice any detail or clarity at all. You can go local with the power or use PoE and save the hassle with this camera. Regardless of how you use it, it's an excellent quality product with good performance and I would recommend it.

This is a nice, reasonably priced 2 megapixel IP network camera. The color and black and white videos are extremely detailed and sharp. The infrared mode works fine with no problems reaching the 50 foot infrared range. The camera delivers such a detailed recording that we could actually see raindrops during a storm after we installed it. The mount is sturdy with a durable neck from the camera to the mount. The camera even has audio input/output capability and it has its own built in web server which means you can access the camera from a smartphone for example.

I'm not sure what all I can say other than the camera was easy to install and operates properly. I had no issues with the camera at all including fast shipping, no damage in transit, camera was packed well, it was easy to mount and all I had to do was lug it into the network (we already have an NVR network system with a POE switch). The infrared mode works very well and the video in that mode (although in black and white) is just as detailed, clear, and sharp as in the normal color mode. This camera is a nice multiuse network megapixel camera that can be used by itself as well and streamed to a computer or smartphone. The only "down" side is the camera's owners manual. It doesn't really tell you why you would want to do things it just tells you how to do them and the English is kind of broken sometimes do to apparently poor translation. Although I had no problems, I have purchased other Security Camera King products and I know from past experience that this minor hurdle can be easily taken care of by contacting the support department as they are a very good group of people.

When it comes to resolution, fine details, good color quality and real time motion, I have to say that I haven't seen much of anything better than this for its price, and it does it all using just the network. I'm sure there are better cameras with more features and a higher resolution perhaps but for the price on this camera, I don't think it can really be beat. I had no problems with installation and I get the full 50 foot range listed for infrared recording in total darkness. This is one I recommend.

Nice IP network 2 megapixel camera with a fairly conservative price. This camera will record in 1080p or 720p at 30 frames per second so you get true full high definition recording resolution and a real time frame rate. The camera also functions well in its infrared mode with about a 50 foot range in total darkness. It offers dual streaming so you can record at high definition but remotely monitor at D1 resolution or less to free up bandwidth. The only down side I find to this camera is that a unit of this caliber has a fixed 3.6mm lens instead of a varifocal. Other than that the price is right, the features are plentiful (including support for 2 way audio), and the recording is superior quality. Security Camera King also has a great technical support staff and this camera comes with free access to these folks which were very helpful as well.

If a bullet style IP network 2 megapixel camera is what you're looking for this is a very good candidate. The camera is small, lightweight, but has a strong mount. The 3.6mm fixed lens works well, but could be considered a bit of a set back for a bullet camera if you are used to varifocal lenses on bullet cameras. The 50 infrared LED range is accurate and the camera can record video at 1080p (2 Megs) resolution at 30 frames per second for a price that is considerably less than $300 (which seems to be about the average for other 2 meg or greater IP network megapixel cameras). The camera even has digital wide dynamic range which does help out with some lighting conditions. This is a good camera for a good price.

Don't let the looks of this camera fool you. What I mean by that is that I have seen cameras very similar to this one in looks packaged in system sets sold at retail and discount stores. Those cameras are usually 420TVL resolution analog cameras with flimsy mounts that break if you sneeze. This is NOT one of them. This is truly a high quality IP network 2 megapixel camera that can record color or black and white video in 2 megapixel resolution at 30 frames per second. It even has RCA mic in and speaker out connections. It has dual video encoding so that it can send the full 1080p resolution data to your NVR for recording but reduce your bandwidth use by sending a lesser resolution D1 for monitoring. If you see the detail on the screen live while monitoring, you'll definitely see it clearly in the recording. The light sensitivity isn't too bad either with the camera being rated for 0.1 lux in color and 0.05 Lux in black and white, but don't forget it does have on-board infrared LEDs and a 50 foot range in total darkness. The price is respectable too, being far under the $300 mark that many network cameras cost. The only feature that this camera doesn't have that could make it really handy is a varifocal lens. However, the 3.6mm fixed lens does a good job of capturing and with the high resolution images you can sometimes compensate for not having the varifocal lens. It's ONVIF and POE compliant and I would purchase it again.

I'm glad I found this camera. I was looking for a 2 meg IP network box camera but this bullet has everything I need without needing to purchase an extra lens and housing. The camera works great and produces a high quality 1080p high definition video recording. It can work in dual streams so it sends the high resolution 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second to your NVR for recording while also sending a reduced resolution (D1) stream at 30 frames per second for monitoring, saving some bandwidth usage on your network and making it easy to monitor. It also has the capability for audio in and audio out. It works off of a 12V DC power supply but can also accept the 12 VDC over the Ethernet cable (PoE) if you have a power supply switch to plug it into. The camera is made of tough composite materials yet is very light (less than a pound I think) so it can be mounted on just about any surface. Not only is it outdoor ready but it also has surge and lightening protection to 4000V. From my perspective there are really only two things that I think could be improved upon. Instead of a fixed 3.6 mm wide angle lens a varifocal lens would be nice. The other is, although it has an infrared mode and can record with a range of up to 50 feet in total darkness, infrared modes are usually monochrome or black and white. Therefore, low light sensitivity is still important if you want to shoot in color with less than ideal lighting conditions. This camera's sensitivity rating is 0.1 Lux in color which could be a little better. Overall, it's a great camera at a decent price and I rate it at 5 stars.
