This lens is specifically designed to be used with our 3 Megapixel IP Box camera. This camera has a 1/2" Sensor and this lens is designed for that sensor. Our other lenses are designed for the 1/3" Sensor found in most security cameras. **Please note that we will sometimes ship out 2.8-12 Megapixel Lens instead of the 3.3-12 MP Lens because the 3.3-12mm is less popular and there is less availability. These two lenses are identical for this application because the effective use of either lens is 3.3mm - 12mm . Attempting to use this lens at an angle wider than 3.3mm will result in an outer ring appearing in your video because of the increase in size of the 1/2" Sensor used by the camera.**
This works great on our network box camera. The only comment I can add is I wish Security Camera King had an equivalent megapixel camera lens but with a greater focal range (higher power zoom).

Works great! We purchased a total of four IP megapixel cameras two of which were the three meg box camera and this works great on them. I can't tell you how it compares to others because we didn't purchase any other lenses but I can tell you that we are definitely satisfied.

Excellent quality lens. If you're going to invest the money in an IP megapixel box camera, you might as well invest the money in a good lens too.

This is a good varifocal lens to use on the new Megapixel IP box cameras. Security Camera King says this is specifically designed for IP cameras because they have a larger sensor than other non-megapixel cameras. I don't know about that because I have never tried another lens on our IP camera but I can tell you that this lens works great.

This lens works great with the Security Camera King IP megapixel box camera. I got the 2.8 - 12 mm lens version and it works fine. You're right about forcing a wider angle than 3.3 mm, the camera records a ring around the outside of the viewing area, but in all honesty I can;t see the need for anyone to use a wider angle than what a 3.3 mm setting can provide anyway. Mount and lens easily attaches to camera and varifocal lens works great!

Seeing as this is the only 1/2 inch sensor megapixel camera lens that Security Camera King has available it would seem as though you might be "stuck" with this lens, but that's not true it all. This lens works perfectly with the 3 Megapixel IP Network Box Security Camera Product Number IPBC-EL3MP. It's a varifocal lens so it offers a wide and narrow shot and any of those settings in between. Also it does will under infrared conditions with no apparent interference.
