This package includes everythin you need as long as you have an existing network. Once the cameras have been mounted and the CAT5 cables have been connected between the switch and the cameras, you will simply need to connect the DVR to your network and the switch to your network. That's all there is to it. You can then call us and we can remotely log into your network and help you configure your NVR so that it will properly record your cameras.
There is no comparison between our Megapixel IP Security Camera Systems and our Standard CCTV DVR based systems. This system will record in much higher resolution providing you with details you could never capture with a CCTV system. Additionally, you can use our Video Management Software (PSS) to combine multiple NVRs and DVRs together into one cohesive system, even if they are at different locations. Also, our IPhone, IPad, Android, Blackberry and Windows Mobile apps work perfectly with this system as they do with all our systems.
The NVR used to record your cameras is truly one of the most advanced NVRs you will find. It has a Dual Core processor which allows for simultaneous preview, recording, playback and network performance. You can connect up to 16 IP cameras at D1 resolution, 8 Cameras at 720p resolution or 4 IP cameras at 1080p (2 Megapixel) resolution. You can use multiple NVRs to build a larger system and use our video management software to combine them together. All channels offer simultaneous realtime playback and have a Grid timeline interface and smart search. Also, you can combine some other manufacturer's IP cameras like Arecont, Axis, Canon, Sony and more.

4 Camera Elite Mini NVR Megapixel Security Camera System
Review by James Holcombe on Apr 30, 2013
I can't tell you enough how much we are enjoying our new Security Camera King 4 Camera Elite Mini NVR Megapixel Security Camera System! This system is such a shocker! There are so many good things about it that it is difficult to focus on anything negative, seriously. The only thing that I might be able to suggest is that the package system comes with 4 1.3 megapixel IP network cameras. The cameras work fine and the resolution is great, but the NVR can actually handle four 1080p (2 megapixel) cameras all recording at a rate of 30 frames per second at the same time. So, you may want to consider upgrading your cameras to get even MORE resolution out of an already great system. The resolution you obtain from the recordings in these systems leaves very little up to the imagination. The video pictures are clear, concise, and colorful with some of the finest details showing up on video. On of our cameras is mounted in the direction of our front entrance and you can actually see the blades of grass in the lawn in the background! If you are not used to a network system, it may help to know that the cameras, recording at such a high resolution and at a real time rate, even with the fantastic compression technology we have today, can still use a lot of disk storage space, especially if you find the need to record continuously. Not to worry with this 4 camera package system though because the NVR is a rack mountable 2U size case and can actually hold a lot of internal storage space in the way of internal hard disk drives. If you go without the optional DVD burner there is enough room for up to 24 Terabytes of optional disk space plus the capability to add on to that using eSATA hard disks and devices. The camera and the NVR have integrated easily and efficiently with our network system and the package was pretty easy to install. Set up may take a little more e3ffort once you have everything installed but if you hit a road block along the way, once again Security Camera King has a great support staff that is more than willing to get your system up and running. This is definitely a nice starter network security camera system.
4 Camera Elite Mini NVR Megapixel Security Camera System

This system is much better than our older analog system. The cameras are much higher in resolution than our old (420 TVL) resolution cameras. However, there is room for improvement. The Elite Mini NVR that Security Camera King includes in this package system can actually handle a maximum of 4 cameras at 1080p resolution simultaneously recording at 30 frames per second. Maintaining the same frame rate, it can handle a maximum of 8 cameras at 720p and a total of 16 cameras at D1 resolution. Although the cameras that Security Camera King includes in this system are 4 1.3 megapixel IP Indoor/Outdoor IR Dome Network Security Cameras they only record 1.3 megapixels at a frame rate of 15 frames per second. However, they do record 720p at 30 frames per second so you could actually add four more of these cameras to your system with this particular NVR. Even though the resolution isn't a full 1080p at 30 frames per second with these cameras, they still are far more powerful in detail (resolution) than most or any analog system cameras. These cameras are also Power Over the Internet (POE) capable and Security Camera King includes a 4 port POE 8 port total power switch for your network. This way you can power the cameras using the same CAT5 Ethernet cable you use to connect them to the network, including providing power for the infrared illuminator LEDs. Since the NVR is a single U size unit, you may find the NVR falling a little short on internal hard drive capacity and the lack of being able to house an internal DVD burner. On the other hand, if you are willing to spend the money Security Camera King will install up to 6TB of internal hard drive storage for you and there are some external USB DVD burners that are compatible for use with this NVR. The NVR also comes with it's own included USB mouse and infrared remote control.
4 Camera Elite Mini NVR Megapixel Security Camera System
Review by Jack Darlington on Mar 07, 2013
Our company recently asked me to research, purchase and install a high resolution security camera system for our server room. Ironically, we provide data security and protection systems for other companies, primarily those who run systems over the Internet with back end database systems. Their data integrity is extremely important and our company provides them with the programming that gives them that protection. In a recent procedures audit, it was brought to our attention that we did not have a "physical" security protection system other than our locking steel doors on our server room. To make a long story short, we purchased the Security Camera King 4 camera Elite Mini NVR Megapixel Security Camera System. Let me say this much about the on line shopping experience. You can research these things until you start looking cross eyed and get a headache. There are many different systems, vendors, installation companies, etc. to chose from. And purchasing one of these "package" systems is a little bit like buying a personal computer; every system has a slight deviation in hardware or electronics. We are very satisfied with our Security Camera King system. The system was easy to install and the NVR doesn't take too much getting used to, to work with it. In fact, the most difficult process is running the CAT5 Ethernet cables to the cameras. The video recorded by this system is really high quality. The cameras can produce true 2 megapixel (1080p) resolution at 30 frames per second and with this kind of video there is very little that you will miss. As I said earlier, our system is running smoothly and we are happy with it. One word of caution though, before I complete my review. Make sure you check out the systems you are considering for purchase thoroughly. Take the time to go over every detail. I almost was going to recommend that we purchase a system that cost 1/4 the price of this one and the cameras were wireless besides which meant I would have to run CAT 5 cables. However, luckily I searched through the specifications thoroughly (I just couldn't figure out why it was so much cheaper) and finally found my answer. The other system was an NVR system with IP cameras, however the cameras and NVR together only produced VGA (640 X 480 pixels) resolution. That's a far cry from 2 megapixels or 1080p (actually it's even less than D1).
Not only is the video incredible, but the entire system is incredible! The cameras are rather small and light weight but they are apparently packed with high quality optics and electronics! These two megapixel dome cameras can record at the 2 megapixel or 1080p rate and they do an excellent job of it. They have a fixed 3.6mm lens that does a good job of capturing a wide angle view without too much of a "fisheye" effect and the detail is still there. I can only imagine what a zoom lens could do at this resolution. The NVR is a basic NVR without a lot of extra hookups or unnecessary features. One thing that is nice is the multiple simultaneous monitor display. We use two displays at the same time, the HDMI and the VGA, but you can also have a third in a BNC format. The power switch is nice so we don't have to run separate power supply cables, we just use the POE. The system is actually expandable if you don't mind dropping the recording resolution a bit. The power switch has a total of 8 ports so you could add four more cameras to your system if you want. However, if you do that and you want to maintain your 30 frame per second recording rate, the DVR will only record 8 cameras at a resolution of 720p which is still good. The only feature that I can see that might present itself as a deficiency, depending on how you record is the storage capacity. The unit is small and doesn't offer a lot of room for internal storage but it can still handle to internal hard drives with a total capacity of 6 Terabytes of room. That may sound like a lot, but depending on your recording choices, and what you want to do with it, 1080p real time recording can use a lot of data space. Just the same, the system is excellent!

This is a great "starter" package into the IP megapixel camera and Network Video Recorder genre. These systems certainly aren't cheap, but their quality is unsurpassed. It's hard not to want to fork over the money for one of these systems and cameras once you see how much better in quality they really are. We change our camera choices around a bit for all four cameras to fit our situation. On word of warning to the do-it-yourselfer newbie: Check out the specs on the camera and the NVR before you purchase them so you know exactly what you are getting. Since we custom ordered our cameras for this package, we didn't get any of the "standard" cameras so I can't say much about them but IP megapixel cameras will often say they are "2 Megapixels" or whatever, but they only record at 15 frames per second at their advertised resolution. If you are seeking real-time frame rates (30 frames per second) the cameras often don't record at the advertised resolution but a resolution lower (for example a 2 megapixel camera may record 30 frames per second only at 1.3 megs or lower). However not all cameras are like that so you have to check to be sure. The NVRs kind of follow that lead too. This NVR is advertised as a 16 channel NVR but in reality it will only record 4 cameras simultaneously at 30 frames per second if they are at a resolution of 2 megapixels (or 1080p). Like wise you can have 8 cameras at 720p or the full 16 cameras at D1. The camera quality of these cameras is still better than the TVL analog cameras (in my opinion) but I don't know why someone would invest all that money in a megapixel camera just to record at a D1 resolution. This network system also comes with a network power switch so you can plug all your cameras into it and then just plug it into the network (or Internet via a router). It will power the cameras using the same Cat5 Ethernet cable that you use for the video so you won't have to run separate power supply wires to each camera (just plug the power line of the switch in). Like I said at the beginning, it's a nice "starter" system for networking security cameras. I'd definitely recommend it to others.

This is a pretty good network system for the price. One of the things I like about Security Camera King's 4 Camera Elite Mini NVR Megapixel System is that the NVR is shaped like a DVR which also makes it rack mountable. I've actually seen several types of NVRs for sale that are inside a desktop computer case. I guess that would be OK for home or non network use, but I like Security Camera King's design better. The other thing I like about Security Camera King's system is that the cameras included in the package are 2 megapixel cameras and the NVR can actually handle 4-2 megapixel cameras at a real-time rate. If you have had a DVR for quite some time or you are used to using DVRs and are familiar with them, when you look at the price tag on an NVR system you'll probably go into shock. On the other hand, when you see the difference in performance with the just the resolution alone on an NVR system that should shock you back the other way. I had no problems installing this system. I really haven't had any problems with the NVR or the cameras either. There's a lot more flexibility in an NVR system and I think these will become the norm in the future.

Review by R. Cass,The Computer Doctor That Makes House Calls on Jan 11, 2013
As you can tell by my name I have a computer repair business. We have quite a wide ranged customer base from single individuals to local companies that we service. We do anything from personal computer repairs to large IT framework jobs for local companies. One of the biggest marketing facets of our company is that we make house calls and attempt to repair your computer on site. However, many times this just isn't possible due to special order parts being needed, diagnostics that need to be run on components back at our shop, etc. So, we have a tremendous amount of computer hardware ranging from laptops and desktops to network servers that are in our shop either waiting to be repaired or picked up. We actually have quite a large repair shop and we also have our own small network system, so I decided to purchase the 4 Camera Elite Mini NVR Megapixel Security Camera System to use to protect our items being stored. We installed the system ourselves and it took no time at all to get it up and running. One of my partners had a bet with me that he could do the same things with a computer and a web cam that we do with the security system. Obviously, he lost. Not being much of a security camera aficionado, I can't say that I am very familiar with older security camera systems. However, the other day I walked into the Corner Store to get something to drink and I noticed their system. I know the owner and I asked him about his system. He said it was a 420 TVL black and white system. All I can tell you is this. There is absolutely no comparison between my full color, high resolution, IP megapixel system and his TVL camera system. Moral of the story: If I need to buy additional systems in the future it will always be IP megapixel systems, I'll never settle for a TVL camera!

I work at a computer programming company in Tallahassee. We design software for commercial applications and many different types of government. Needless to say we have our own network; however, what we don't have is our own security camera surveillance system. Many of our employees work on projects that require them to work late into the evenings and I am concerned about their safety not only while they are in the building but when they depart for home at night. Hence, we purchased this Security Camera King NVR and IP Camera system and installed it ourselves. It works really well and the video picture is extremely fine and of high quality. I never realized just exactly how fantastic the quality of our system is until one night when I stopped at a convenience store/gas station to get gas on my way home. When I went in to pay for the gas, I saw the convenience store's black and white monitor of their security camera system. Geesh, the quality of their black and white display looked like some child's toy compared to our system! This system does an excellent job of covering our entrance/exits and our parking lot completely. What's really nice about the feature is that all of our employees can tap into the system from their computer so they can see what is going on around the exits and parking lot before they leave at night. We had no trouble with installation. I must say the POE switch helps speed that up a bit and eliminates the need for an extra power cable. The cameras are surprising light and easily install in substrates like ceiling tile to the outdoor eaves. My only suggestion to potential buyers is to purchase as much hard drive storage as you can if you intend to keep your footage because this high resolution video can really use up the storage space if you run it continuously. Very nice system, Security Camera King and I would recommend it to others.

This is a real high quality video system. This isn't like those old blurry black and white video tape security systems, believe me. Our company has been using this system for about 6 months now and we are totally satisfied. The cameras were very easy to install because they only take a few screws and the cameras are actually fairly small and very light (we have one mounted in a fiberboard drop ceiling tile and it holds very well). The 8 port switch is very convenient for hooking up the camera's Cat 5 cables to the network AND supplying power to the cameras via the cable at the same time. The 2 megapixel cameras capture video at 1080p which is the same thing as watching high definition movies on your television. Very few fine details are missed so you can actually use these cameras to see denominations of money, switch positions and lights on machinery, face identification, and many other high detail resolution uses. The NVR works great and wasn't very difficult to set up or configure, especially if you have some IT experience and are a little familiar with security camera DVRs. A couple of the major differences between this package and more expensive packages is that the NVR is not as big so it can't hold an internal DVD burner and it can only hold 2 internal drives. However you can upgrade your NVR with Security Camera King at the time of your purchase to as much as a 6 Tb hard drive, so that's good. (That's what we did and I would suggest the more storage capacity you can afford the better). This system is a professional quality system. It works great and I would recommend it to other users.
The 4 Camera Elite Mini NVR Megapixel Security Camera System is Impressive!

These megapixel cameras and NVRs have taken security camera systems to the next level. I'm not sure what can be better than this other than maybe even bigger and finer detailed video or even smaller cameras. Right now we are just using the four 2 IP megapixel cameras at a recording resolution of 2 megapixels (or 1080p). The detail and clarity of the video is very impressive. I've gotten to like this set up so much that although I could add more cameras and reduce the resolution of their display, I think if I ever need more I'll just purchase another NVR. Speaking of NVRs, Security Camera King's Elite Mini NVR is great. There are all kinds of features available to the user that can be accessed via the on screen display menu system. Set up is not that difficult if you have a little IT experience and if you don't, I'm sure Security Camera King's support staff will be glad to help (we had a couple of issues that we needed help with and they were great.) The network POE switch makes installation easier by only requiring the Cat5e cable run. The cameras are small and light weight and can be mounted just about anywhere. We've had no problems with our system since it has been up and running and we like it a lot. We would highly recommend this IP system to others.
