I've been installing security cameras for several years. I am lucky enough to live in a thriving area where retail stores seemed to just keep popping up. If they don't have their own "in house" contractor, I often get the bids on these jobs. If the client doesn't have a predesigned camera placement and security camera system in mind, I provide one for them. For many large retail stores I have installed 32 camera systems or multiple camera systems totaling more than 32 cameras. Most of the cameras are indoor box cameras that divide the area into what I call protection "zones" for complete coverage. However, this are generally overview cameras with a short focal length varifocal lens so we can catch the widest shot possible (although there are occasions when we do narrow it up a bit). Anyway, I have been using these Security Camera King 570 TVL Mini 10X PTZs, PTZ-LX500L10X to supplement the box cameras and the customers love it! The cameras are inexpensive enough not to scare the customer away from using them, yet offer the stores security team a chance to pan and zoom in on a potential event that is caught by the overview box cameras. The cameras are usually flush mounted so I don't require any extra mounting to install the camera. With the 10X optical zoom and the 500 TVL color and 570 TVL black and white resolution they produce a fine video picture. Since these dome cameras are true day/night cameras lighting in the store is usually not even an issue as there is plenty of ambient light for the low sensitivity of the camera to produce a high quality recording. With the patterns and the presets the cameras can augment the box cameras even further if they like when there is no suspicious activity. However if the cameras are being monitored manually by an employee they are quick to respond with Pan, Tilt, and Zoom movements to zero in on the object. These are nice PTZ cameras with a nice video and a nice price. I would and do recommend them to others.

I live near Philadelphia and have a store in Delaware not far away. I contacted a couple of surveillance companies for the Philly area to come out and give me an estimate for adding a Mini 10X PTZ Speed Dome to my 8 channel system. I don't even wanna mention the estimates, they were ridiculous as far as I was concerned. Next I checked online. I found some, starting at $599. Then Security Camera King came up in my search. I saw this camera for $399 and I thought it was used or something. After checking it out, I realized it wasn't used and it had all the features I liked so I ordered one. Got in about three days after I ordered. Professionally packaged and undamaged and in good order. (I ordered some other stuff from Security Camera King and ended up qualifying for free shipping too.) Anyway I installed the camera myself (that was easy) and I think it works great. The picture is better than my older cameras (420TVL resolution on them) and the PTZ works great. To be honest, I think I saved about $3000 and I can't believe it. The camera has lots of good features and is easy to install. When it comes time to update my whole system, which won't be too long, I'm coming back to Security Camera King!
570 TVL Mini 10X PTZ Speed Dome Surveillance Camera
Review by Tanner Washington on Jan 21, 2013
Not bad for a dome camera. The title on this one can be a bit misleading because the camera only gets a 500 TVL resolution in color. The 570 TVL resolution listed above is in black and white, which to be honest, for the price I would expect a bit more. The camera has an optical zoom of 10X power and an additional 10X digital. So it has a total of 100X zoom but in reality it is 10X. I'm just not a big fan of digital zooms and haven't really seen any that do much than enlarge the size of the pixels of the picture, which at 500 TVL doesn't give you a lot to go on. The camera does have an On Screen Display that controls a lot of electronic features of the camera. Many of these features are also automatic which, in most cases is a good thing. Some of the automatic features (they can also be adjusted manually) are the day/night setting using the ICR cut filter, focus, iris, white balance, and auto park. The camera's overall size is smaller than most regular dome cameras (I'm not sure what benefit that has). As I said before it really doesn't create a bad picture, it just wasn't the quality I expected for the price.
570 TVL Mini 10X PTZ Speed Dome Surveillance Camera

Not a bad camera for a PTZ vandal proof dome. The camera has 500 TVL resolution in color and 570 TVL resolution in black and white. It's a true day/night camera so it is pretty sensitive to low light conditions. The camera has an On Screen Display menu system that allows you to adjust many features like white balance (auto) and gain control (auto). It's got a 10X digital zoom for a total power of 100X but like most digital zooms the digital zoom isn't very impressive after a couple of clicks into it. This dome camera is kind of unique because it can be surface or flush mounted out of the box. Of course, probably the biggest feature of this camera is the fact that is responds with its PTZ movements very quickly. It's a good surface or flush mount dome camera for the price.

This is a nice camera. Even though the resolution is only 500 TVL in color and 570 TVL in black and white, the camera still records fairly detailed, clear, color correct video. The 10X optical zoom works really well, is fairly quick and relatively quiet. Even though the camera has a 10X digital zoom I don't really use it because I think all a digital zoom does is pixilate the picture. Just the same, the 10X optical does a real fine job. Basically, the camera is a day/night camera and it does a really good job of picking up video in very low light. We use this camera in a fairly high vaulted ceiling lobby that connects other office store and office fronts and when it is in night mode with the Sense Up cranked up it will actually pick up the infrared LED illuminators from these stores and offices indoor infrared cameras. The camera operates well with our Security Camera King DVR and is easy to mount and set up. It has an electronic on screen display control that can be used to adjust many features' settings including automatic white balance, automatic gain control, and Sense Up for example. It records and displays nice, works well in night mode, is easy to use.

I purchased one of these and after installing ordered two more. This camera has a very nice picture and the 10x zoom is quiet enough for your home setup. It is very easy to program and makes a sweet addition to any system. One of your first questions will be ,how good does it see at night ! With the sense-up setting adjusted this camera picks up the IR from my other cameras and illuminators.Even with no IR's of it's own it sees quite well at night with the help of the other cameras. When you see it in action, you will be back for more. This is one must have camera for your system.

This is a good basic PTZ. I'm very satisfied with it and even more so with the price. The resolution is only 500 TVL in color but in addition to the 10X optical zoom it has a 10X digital zoom that helps to make up for not being higher in resolution. The camera has an on screen display menu system that can be used to control many electronic features that may come in handy in adjusting your camera for specific conditions. The camera has automatic true day night settings for recording color video in low light conditions. This camera truly is a good value.
570 Mini 10 X PTZ Speed Dome Surveillance Camera -- Small in Size, Big in Performance!
Review by Gary Grear on Oct 24, 2012
This is a fairly small un obtrusive camera, especially for a PTZ. Although it may be small in physical size it still produces a good video, the zoom works great, and the resolution isn't bad at 500 TVL (color) it does 570 ZTVL in black and white mode. When mounting you'll need to connect three different sets of wires: Video BNC; The power connection; and, The pair of wires to connect to your DVR's RS485 jack to control the PTZ functions as well as the on screen display menu. The camera has some good low light sensitivity so it can do pretty well without much light (there are no infrared LEDs or an infrared mode). The camera comes with all sorts of performance enhancing features that are controlled by the OSD such as white balance, gain control (these two features are also automatic) and many others. This is a good camera for the price and considering the size. I'm happy to rate it at five stars.
The 570 TVL Mini 10X PTZ Speed Dome Surveillance Camera is a Nice Camera with a Good Price!

I have a client that purchased 3 PTZ-LX500L10X cameras and requested that I install them. Needless to say, I go to know the cameras pretty well by the time I was finished installing the three. These installs were under the eaves on the second story of three sides of a business building. Crawl spaces and hot attics aren't my favorite type of install, but the camera itself was easy to mount and hook up. I used the RS485 for control at the DVR. The Pan, Tilt, and Zoom functions all were well and if you set the speed up using the on screen display menu the camera can move surprisingly fast. The camera displays an excellence picture, especially with a little adjustment of the feature setting on the OSD. I did have a little difficulty with set up (I was trying to get through the OSD menus fast and I didn't know them at all at first) and the address settings of the cameras. After calling your tech support folks they did an excellent job of helping me and it was taken care of in know time. I was surprised at the helpfulness of your support staff. I thought they might not be as receptive me just because I am a professional installer, but they were great! I'll recommend you to my clients in the future (as long as they continue to hire me to install and not do it themselves...ha..ha).
