This is a review for Security Camera King's 650 TVL high resolution color dome camera product number TPD-65MINI. As the product name suggests this camera is a mini camera, smaller in over all size than most, but definitely not so small as to be considered a hidden camera. It still uses a Sony CCD for 650 TVL resolution video using a 3.mm fixed over view or wide angle lens. One of the great features of this camera is its extreme low light sensitivity making it capable of producing color video at low light levels. The camera is easy to install and set up and it integrates well with our system. Even though it is a mini, it still has an on screen display menu that offers adjustable features and functions. I have to admit, Security Camera King does have a wide selection of dome cameras and sometimes the more choices there are the more overwhelming it can be. I like this one because of it's small size, light sensitivity, and good resolution.
My business is located in an old Victorian style home that has a beautiful rustic exterior and interior appearance. Recently I had the entire interior office areas remodeled (actually and more correctly restored). At the same time we did the restoration work we decided to purchase new cameras for our makeover project to better suit the décor. Security Camera King’s TPD-65MINI fit the makeover perfectly. I didn’t want to use a “hidden” camera, but I did want a camera that was small enough to be unobtrusive while styling working in a practical way. We have fairly high ceilings in all of our offices and each camera is easily mounted in such a way that it is basically out of direct sight, yet the 3.6mm wide angle lens pretty much covers the entire room. Each of our office rooms is equipped with an energy saving LED or CFL light that stays on all night and provides a dim “night light” type of effect so the camera easily captures images at night with its 0.0001 LUX low light sensitivity. The color reproduction is accurate and the picture or video is clear and sharp. It took a little time to learn how to operate the camera’s On Screen Display menu, actually not how to operate it but just to learn where things existed on the menu, but it didn’t take too long. The camera comes with slew of electronic features that can be changed or adjusted using the OSD to accommodate your particular conditions or to enhance your video capturing. I’ve had no problem with any of my eight cameras, they all work fine with out a failure or a breakdown, and I am a very satisfied customer. I would highly recommend this camera.
This is a good high quality camera, but for the same price you can get Security Camera King's ID-LX700IR50L2812700 TVL resolution camera. Granted this is a true day/night color camera with no LEDs but the lens is a 3.6mm fixed lens too. True also, is the fact that this is a mini camera. It's not a hidden camera or one that people won't see, but it is much smaller than an average size indoor dome camera. Still, the video recorded is high quality, good color video. This camera comes with an On Screen Display (OSD) that will give you the ability to alter many features to get the best shot for your particular conditions.
Pretty good camera. Does what it is supposed to at a fairly decent price. It is smaller than the average dome so I guess you could say it's a little less obtrusive. This camera has great low light sensitivity down to 0.0001 LUX (actually the specs sheet for the TPD-65Minin says down to 0.000001 Lux!) It also has an OSD for additional adjustments.
Security camera King's TPD-65MINI offers a great color video with a resolution of 650TVL. The camera has a standard 3.6 mm fixed wide angle lens, even though the dome camera itself is smaller than most other dome cameras, on the average. The lens or camera rather, is adjustable on a 3 axis bracket so you can aim the camera in just about any direction you wish once the camera is mounted. One of the things that make this camera so special is it's incredible low light sensitivity as a day/night camera. It is rated down to as low as 0.000001 LUX! And, with the help of the features that can be controlled by using the On Screen Display menu, you can set the camera to adapt to your particular lighting conditions to obtain the best shot. The camera is also equipped with an electronic "flickerless" feature that stabilizes images and reduces the "movement" of the video. Some of the features such as white balance, back light compensation, and gain control can be fully automatic or their settings can be overridden by the OSD. Other OSD features include ATW, AWC, and manual white balance. The camera also has an external OSD controller. The camera has served us well and is a great purchase for the price listed.
This is a pretty good 3.6 mm fixed lens true day/night camera. The size is smaller than the average (hence the "mini" designation) but I'm not sure why. It's not so small as to be hidden although admittedly it doesn't "stick out" like many full size cameras do. The camera has a resolution of 650 TVL so it produces some pretty fine details. It also comes with its own On Screen Display menu that allows you to set many extra electronically controlled features such as white balance, back light compensation, privacy masking, and day/night operation. It's literally a good "little" camera.
Security Camera King doesn't do this camera justice with their description. When you first look at it on their on-line catalog you may wonder why a camera that has a 650 TVL resolution is actually more expensive than their camera listed right below this one with a 700 TVL resolution. However, I can tell you that this camera produces a very high quality, color accurate, sharp video picture. Not only that but there are a lot of features and options with this camera that make all the more versatile in application. First on the technical side of things night time light sensitivity can be as low as 0.000001 Lux (that's right, count the zeros) and that's still producing a shot in color. It's a mini camera so while it may not be hidden, it is definitely less obvious or obtrusive. Also the camera has it's own on screen display that can control back light compensation, privacy masking, white balance, and many other features plus it has enhanced flickerliss function circuitry. It's a nice camera and if you are looking for a mini dome with a lot of potential, here it is.
The Security Camera King 650 TVL High Resolution Color Dome Camera is a nice mini day/night color camera with pretty good low light sensitivity. Of course one of the main characteristics of this camera is its small size. It's not a hidden camera by any means but it is small enough in size to be much less obvious or obtrusive than standard size dome cameras. In addition, even though it has a small size it comes loaded with a variety of picture enhancing features that include automatic gain control and automatic white balance. The on screen display allows you to configure features like back light compensation, privacy masking, ATW and AWC. If you're looking for a high quality true day/night mini dome camera with an extremely good sensitivity to low light this should definitely be a consideration.

I like this camera. It has got great detail at 650 TV lines of resolution and the color is spot on. The fixed 3.6 mm lens provides a good wide angle or overview shot. With a minimum illumination rating of 0.000001 lux you know it has to be really sensitive and therefore work in extremely low light conditions. The camera has an adjustable on screen display menu that controls a whole lot of features including back light compensation, white balance, privacy masking and many, many others. The camera is small compared to average size domes but that doesn't compromise its video capturing capabilities at all. Once the camera is mounted, it is adjustable on its 3 axis bracket so you can aim it just about anywhere. This is a nice piece of electronics!
