Nice camera! Security Camera King's PTZ-EL70036X PTZ camera offers a fairly good "middle of the road" PTZ movement speed combined with a great sensor and an excellent zoom. I'm not sure I would cal this camera a "speed" dome but it certainly isn't the slowest PTZ I have ever seen either. It's response times are good and the movements are fairly quick. With Security Camera King's custom built protocol in the camera's programming software, in works well with a Security Camera King DVR. It allows you to operate the camera's OSD from the DVR buttons in a method that is easier and more cut and dry. But personally, I like even better the 3D intelligent mouse positioning system. No more need for a PTZ joystick controller. Just point and click on the monitor screen where you want the camera to go and it will move there. Click and drag an area and it zooms in. That's nice. The camera also creates a very nice quality video recording using the Sony Super Had CCD II with the Effio-S digital signal processing chipset. It also offers great low light sensitivity. It does fairly well in color, but switch to black and white and this camera can use starlight for illumination! However, to me the most impressive feature is the 36X zoom. This lens is powerful for a PTZ and 36X can really "shorten" the distance between the camera and the object you are viewing. In my opinion, it is an excellent camera, I am very satisfied with it, and would suggest it to others interested in a quality PTZ camera.

Wow! I was tempted to make my review just one word "wow," but I was afraid that people would not take me seriously, so I'll be more descriptive than that. As an independent CCTV installer this camera exceeds not only mine, but my customer's expectations many respects. I knew the picture it captured would be of good quality the minute I checked the specs and saw that it utilized the Sony Super HAD CCD II/Effio-S DSP combination but I've got to tell you, the 36X zoom is simply outrageous! Between the 700 TVL black and white resolution (600 TVL color) and the 36X zoom you'll see details with this camera that you have never ever seen with ones before it. It comes with all the bells and whistles you would expect from a high quality PTZ including an On Screen Display menu (OSD) that allows you to set many features like shutter control, white balance, 255 presets, 8 auto tours, 5 auto patterns and cans and so on. In addition to the 36X optical zoom there is also a 16X digital zoom as well. This camera has great low light sensitivity, especially in black and white mode as it is rated for 0.1 LUX in color and 0.0002 LUX in black and white! It also includes its own on board heater and fan assembly. The feature that makes this really interesting and attractive is the custom built PTZ protocol software. If you use a Security Camera King DVR with this camera you won't have to use presets to access the OSD. Also, there's no need to search for buttons to click on to access the OSD or to navigate through it. You basically just click simple, intuitive buttons on the DVR and built in navigation buttons to page through the OSD menu. In addition, this camera comes with the "3D Intelligent Positioning" which basically means you can use the DVR's USB mouse to point and click and the camera will automatically move to that location and center it on the monitor. Click and drag a rectangle around the object or area and the camera automatically pans and/or tilts to that area AND zooms in. In my opinion, it truly is an exceptional PTZ camera right down to the details like the fact that it includes an outdoor wall mount and the camera has a small gauge safety cable that connects it to the mount ring so you don't accidentally drop the camera say 30 feet below while you are installing it or adjusting any settings on it. No doubt, five stars!

This PTZ camera by Security Camera King is a good working camera. The 36X optical zoom is amazing let alone when it is enhanced by the additional 16X digital zoom. It will work with many different DVRs provided they support the Pelco-D, Pelco-P, or DH-SD protocols but it best works with Security Camera King's own DVRs. Basically, in a nut shell, the camera allows you to use the buttons on the front of the DVR to control the On Screen Display and the buttons that it uses are pretty intuitive so you don't have to memorize buttons and presets and the sort. It's a well designed camera with quality as a focal point as it has the Sony Super HAD CCD II with the Effio-S digital signal processor. This combination gives it the ability to produce color video in 600 TVL resolution and 700 TVL resolution in black and white. It's a pretty large size camera, yet it is still considered a speed dome with pan speeds of up to 300 degrees per second and tilt speeds of up to 120 degrees per second. The camera has a super sensitive CCD that gives it good low light visibility so when you want to zoom the full 36X power at night you can usually still "see." It is rated down to 0.1 LUX for color video and as low as 0.0002 LUX when operating in black and white mode. They even thought to put a "safety cable" on the camera body and attach it to the head mount so the camera won't fall to the ground and smash if you have to dismantle it once it is mounted. Good product.

I have some cameras with the Sony Super HAD CCD II sensor and an Effio digital signal processing chip and I love the recorded video that they produce. High quality, excellent color application, very little if any flickering. But I've never had a PTZ camera with a 36X optical zoom with the Sony CCD. Wow! What detail and great pictures! Why did I purchase this camera from Security Camera King? It wasn't so much for the DVR button use capability to operate the PTZ's On Screen Display, although that is a nice feature. It's because I purchased by original DVR and cameras from Security Camera King and have an excellent experience with them from the time I placed the order to now. I felt confident I could trust a relatively expensive product being of good quality from Security Camera King and I was right. Not only to the PTZ controls work great but the automatic iris and focusing is quick and accurate too. Plus I really like the low light sensitivity of this camera. It's rated for 0.1 LUX in color mode while black and white mode is an astounding low light level of 0.0002 LUX! When you purchase a product like this, you want one that you know someone has thought hard about when they designed it. It's like cigarette lighters in old cars. They were usually standard, not because they new you would need it, but because they just "slapped them in all the cars" without much thought. But a car with something like a foot pedal to open the back hatch, that's innovative and you can tell someone was thinking when they designed it. Same thing with this camera. For example the camera even has a "safety" cable. A wound wire cable that connects to the end of the mount and to the camera base so that if the camera is mounted and you need to dismantle it, it won't accidentally fall to the ground giving you $900 worth of broken electronics. As far as the electronic features go, don't worry the OSD has got them all and I can't believe it would not have a specific one that you are looking for. The camera has surge and wave and 4000V lightning protection for outside as well as a built in heater and fan. I can easily say that you won't be disappointed with this camera!

This is an incredible PTZ camera. It boasts a 36X zoom as well as it should be cause it works great. The camera has a CCD with a Sony EFFIO-S digital signal processor chip. It captures at 600 TVL resolution in color and 700 TVL resolution in black and white. It's a true day/night camera with low light sensitivity as low as 0.0002 LUX in black and white mode and 0.1 LUX in color. What more could you ask for n a PTZ? A heater and fan? It's got that too. The camera even has a "safety" cable that attaches to the camera body and the mount to prevent accidental dropping while working on the camera or mount. I'm not sure how much more I can add to the reviews that have already been presented here, but I'll give it a try. I've decided to complete my review by listing the things that I like about the camera and the things I don't like about the camera. Perhaps this will help you in your own decision process if you are considering a purchase.

Get the "picture"?

Wow! A 36X optical zoom is one serious camera! I have a 42X zoom lens on my digital camera and I can easily pick up the craters in the moon. So a 36X zoom combined with a 700 TVL color resolution really gives you fine detail and a long reach if you need it. The picture quality is simply amazing; but that's not all. This camera has a pretty extensive On Screen Display menu system. By "extensive" I mean there are a lot of valuable electronic options that can be set or adjusted to fit your specific application. I won't bother listing them all but their are several that can even be automatic such as gain control, white balance, shutter speed, and iris and focus control. This PTZ is a speed dome too, so I've found that its pan and tilt speeds are pretty quick and responsive. My digital camera can take quite of bit of time to focus, especially at extreme ranges (macro or up close settings and infinity or maximum zoom) but that is NOT the case with this camera. The focus and iris are just about as fast and responsive as the camera movements so the camera has no problem keeping up with positioning and zooming commands. I was also surprised with the camera and mount. The camera itself weighs about 10 pounds and the wall mount an additional 3. I thought for sure the camera would demonstrate a significant amount of vibration from movement or weather but I must say that the video is incredibly stable. This is a quality made PTZ camera with a hefty zoom and excellent picture.

You'll really love this PTZ even if you don't own a Security Camera King DVR. But if you do, you'll love it all the more. When you use this PTZ camera with a Security Camera King DVR the buttons on the DVR are integrated with the camera to operate the camera's On Screen Display (OSD) menu system which is where you'll be able to adjust a wealth of electronic features, including features that will enhance the quality of the video based on your local lighting conditions. What's more, the PTZ when used with a Security Camera King DVR, can take advantage of 3D intelligent positioning. Instead of using a separate joystick controller or fumbling around with an infrared remote control to operate the PTZ, you can simply use your DVR's USB mouse. All you have to do is click anywhere on the monitor screen with your mouse and the PTZ pans and/or tilts to center that spot you clicked on the screen. If you want to zoom in, just click and drag a rectangle around the area or object you want to zoom and the camera does it automatically. It's a great camera and the 36X power zoom is simply incredible. The camera also has a digital zoom of 16X so when combined with the optical, the total zoom power can max at 576X! Of course the digital zoom pixelates or distorts the view at powers close to 16X digital, but the first few power factors really enhance the already huge 36X optical zoom. Finally the 600 TVL color and 700 TVL black and white resolution makes detail identification even easier. I really like this camera and won't hesitate to buy more in the future if we need them.

Nice camera! This camera records very good quality video pictures and the zoom is amazing! The 600 TVL color resolution is very clear and sharp and the 700 TVL black and white resolution is all the more. The camera even comes with an outdoor wall mount which saves you some money. IF you have a Security Camera King DVR this camera has a protocol that is especially made for them so you can get all kinds of control of the on screen display and camera from just setting at the DVR. It's also got Security Camera King's 3D intelligent positioning which allows you to control the PTZ functions of the camera by just using a mouse. It's got three operating protocols, Pelco-D, Pelco-P, and DH-SD so you don't have to have a Security Camera King DVR to operate it; it will work with most other brands as well. It also has good low light sensitivity. Another characteristic I noticed about this camera that impressed me was related to the zoom. At 36X zoom, the smallest movements start being detected by most high zoom cameras (such as vibrations, wind blowing against the camera, etc.). However, when the optical zoom is fully extended to the maximum 36X there is very little movement affect detectable; it is a very stable camera and lens system. This camera is really incredible and I'll give it five stars!

You can tell this camera is a quality, professional PTZ camera when you first start to work with it. First it's ruggedly built, right down to the included wall mount and even the metal safety cable that keeps the camera from falling off and crashing to the ground while you are trying to connect the wiring. The 700 TVL resolution video picture is clear, crisp, and colorful. Between the 700 TVL and the 36X optical zoom very few details get beyond the "eye" of this camera. (The camera also has 16X digital zoom so when zoomed totally out in optical and digital it can reach 576X!) The camera operates off of several common protocols and in includes typical activate preset, scan, pattern, and touring settings. We have a Security Camera King Ultimate DVR so we can use the buttons on the DVR to open the camera's on screen display menu. What's even better is the special 3D intelligent positioning. Using your USB mouse you simply click on the screen to move the PTZ and draw a rectangle around any object to instruct the camera to zoom in. This is a good camera with 100% high quality in mind.

If I had this camera at home mounted on a pole on my roof, I could see just about all around the whole neighborhood. That might give you some idea of how this camera works. The high resolution recording coupled with the 36X zoom can pick out some pretty otherwise undetectable details for a security camera. We use the scanning and tour functions here at work to so the having the camera is almost like having another security guard on the site. The camera has an on screen display menu that is used to control many of the functions and features. We do use a Security Camera King DVR so the camera integrates very well with the DVR, especially when it comes to moving through the OSD menu navigation. In addition, we like the 3D intelligent Position function. This function allows you to direct the camera to an object and zoom in and follow it by simply drawing a rectangle around the object. I have to admit, I don't think it can get any simpler than that.
