Our OD-LX700IR100L2812-W is a tremendous value when comparing specifications to cost. This is a 700tvl 1/3" Sony Super HAD II CCD and Enhanced Effio-E DSP, varifocal 2.8-12mm Megapixel lens. The design of this camera is stunning and made to handle tough environments. The OSD of this camera has many advanced features including WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) to handle both bright and low light environments, DNR (Digital Noise Reduction), and Smart IR which will compensate the intensity of the IR LEDs to avoid washout from close object. Additionally, this camera has built in HLC (Head light compensation) to wash out bright headlights and tail light allowing for easier identification of license plate numbers. The infrared LEDs will light up the way for around 100'ft in complete darkness and they will turn on automatically in low light. Use this camera in any outdoor application and you will not be disapointed.

Not being a professional CCTV person I can't say for sure, but I think Security Camera King would be hard to beat on this camera considering the price and the features. It captures excellent high resolution color and black and white video with little effort. The camera includes an On Screen Display (OSD) menu that allows you to make adjustments to some features, including wide dynamic range. The OSD control is a built in joystick button that located within the camera cable, next to the camera. Great camera for the price!

This camera worked great and price was also great

This camera provides good video, day and night. The housing feels sturdy and robust. Plug it in and you're good to go.
|
I with the screws were a little larger that adjust the zoom and focus, otherwise these give a good pic night and day.

Dear Security Camera King, you've got no complaints on this camera from me! This camera provides a nice, detailed 700 TVL resolution video recording with good color and very low noise even at low light settings. The camera mounts easily and although the mounting screws aren't hidden they are somewhat recessed to make them difficult to be tampered with. And speaking of recessed, the zoom and focus controls are right on the outside casing of the camera so you can easily make adjustments when the camera is mounted. The camera has its own built in infrared LEDs that give it a long range of about 100 feet in total darkness. That's nice to have because it allows you to take more advantage of the zoom at night using the 2.8 - 12 mm varifocal lens. It also has an On Screen Display (OSD) menu that allows you to make adjustments to video enhancement features like wide dynamic range and digital noise reduction. It also has an interesting feature called Smart IR that adjusts the intensity of the IR LEDs so that close objects aren't over illuminated. I haven't really worked with the Head Light Compensation feature so I can't really say much about it. This is a good camera though and I would highly recommend it.

Great camera! This camera works great for me, but I use it as a regular security camera type camera. I love the 700 TVL resolution, for an analog camera I think it's about the best you can get. This camera has a varifocal lens so you can do a little zooming if you need to. The adjustments are made right on the outside casing so you don't have to take the camera apart to focus or zoom and they are recessed to make them more tamper proof. The smart IR technology is great, but if you didn't know it was there, you probably would just assume it didn't even exist. Since the built in infrared LEDs can illuminate up to 100 feet in total darkness, the Smart IR reduces their strength for objects up close to avoid illumination wash out. Nifty idea. I'm not sure about the license plate capture part, I don't use mine for that. But, I can't quite see using a dome for that anyway, I would think more of a box or a bullet camera, but these cameras do have a feature called Head Light Compensation or HLC. It helps remove the glare or washout from bright head lights, but you still have to have your cameras set up properly to do that. I'd recommend this camera!

Customer was very satisfied with the quality of the day and night vision cameras. They were incredibly easy to setup, and the sales staff were great. They got us what we needed to complete the job.

I bought some cameras which i was told could read license plates for my property. I got the run around and finally the TRUTH came out it does read license plates.
BASICALLY A LIE TO MAKE THE SALE, only got one star cause i couldnt give less

This is a pretty good camera and I would recommend it to others. I gave it four stars because I like it but I don't think it would be fair to rate it at five stars when there are other cameras that have some extra features in addition to the ones this offers. However, 700 TVL color resolution is still pretty impressive and I like the output this camera produces. I can remember that it wasn't very long ago when we use to think that 480 TVL cameras were considered "high" resolution compared to 420 TVL cameras. This has those beat of course, hands down. The camera has an OSD that is operated by a button joystick built into the camera's cable. I would like it a little better if it would provide an RS485 connection for remote adjustment of the OSD, but that would probably cause an increase in price. The OSD has a surprising number of settings that can be adjusted including digital wide dynamic range, back light compensation, 2D digital noise reduction, sharpness, gamma, motion detection with up to 4 areas, motion detection sensitivity, alarm, and privacy masks. You shouldn't have any problems getting this camera to adjust to the settings exactly the way you want it. In addition to those features, the infrared mode works well too, and I get just about the full rate 100 foot range in total darkness that is specified. The 2.8 -12 mm varifocal lens helps to make the camera good as well.

I think this is an excellent camera with several beneficial features and at a decent price. As far as use is concerned, the camera was easy to mount and adjust. The camera's 2.8 mm to 12 mm varifocal lens can be adjusted from the outside of the camera case by using two inset screws on each side of the camera, one for zoom and one for focus. It's got a bout a 100 foot infrared range in total darkness so the range on the infrared mode pretty well covers the zoom capabilities so you don't really have too many situations where you would zoom outside the range. Not only does the camera have an infrared mode but it is also real low light sensitive down to 0.001 LUX at F2.0. The quality of the video recording picture at 700 TVL is great whether it is in color or black and white (infrared). The camera OSD is loaded with a lot of features that can be adjusted including motion detecting and privacy masks. If you install a lot of these you'll probably want a portable monitor though because unfortunately, the one thing it doesn't have is an RS485 connection for remote control the OSD from the DVR. It would be hard to be disappointed by this camera value.
