This is a great value in a true Infrared Vandal Dome. If you want outstanding quality, with ultra high 700 TV Lines of resolution then Sony's Effio-E DSP is the best deal out there. This Vandal Dome features a Sony Super HAD II CCD combined with Sony Enhanced Effio-E DSPand a 2.8-12mm Varifocal lens. In low light it will switch to black and white automatically and the Infra-red LEDs will light up the room with light that only the camera can see. There is also an OSD (On Screen Display) which allows you to configure many different options in this camera, including day/night settings, ATR (Sony's version of Wide Dynamic Range), shutter speed and much more. This camera can be mounted indoors or outdoors.

Got no complaints from me on this camera. This seems to be a nice quality dome camera. It's really kind of hard to beat the quality you get out of the current Sony Super Had II CCD along with their Effio-E digital signal processor. At 700TVL it's difficult to find an analog dome camera that can produce a better picture unless you're talking about a specialty use. Along with the great resolution and quality picture, this dome has a 2.8 to 12mm varifocal lens that helps zoom and close in on your shot if needed. The camera has an On Screen Display menu that includes adjustable features like most usual video picture controls but also has some electronic enhancements like digital wide dynamic range, back light compensation, and privacy zones. You'll get about a 50 foot range in infrared mode when used in total darkness and that video is clear as anything too. It's just a good quality camera, even the dome cover has a stranded wire mini cable to keep it connected to the base when performing service.

I’ve been a CCTV installer for years and I have seen cameras and recorders come and go and I anticipate that I will continue to see them come and go for many years to come (I hope). I’ve been dealing with Security Camera King for over 4 years now (TechVison, TechPro) and I have found that their products range from good to excellent quality. I also applaud their support department as their service has always been exemplary and I’m sure they are this way not only with professional CCTV people but individuals that are do it your selfers as well. If you are looking for a basic, inexpensive camera that will do the job with out a lot of cost, I would not recommend this camera. This camera, though more expensive than a “standard” automatic camera provides a high quality video recording and picture and is loaded with a lot of electronic features that are adjustable that allows the user to adapt it to a variety of challenging (especially lighting) issues. I must admit that I am partial to the Sony sensor/chip combinations and this camera also has the Sony Super HAD II 960H CCD with the Sony Effio-E digital signal processor chip; it provides an excellent quality capture. The camera also has a 2.8 to 12mm adjustable varifocal lens that can be used to further enhance your video shot and it does pretty good at reaching the listed 50 foot infrared range in total darkness. As a matter of fact, this camera is pretty darn low light sensitive as it is without using infrared illumination. There are multiple features that can be controlled by the OSD. Good camera!

This is a pretty decent camera. Rather basic, intrinsic to the functions that it has, but it does produce a nice quality high resolution video recording. I'm very satisfied with the camera myself, especially in the price range that it is at so don't misunderstand me, but there is just nothing "special" that "jumps" right out at me about this camera other than the high quality video display. However, on the other side of the fence, there are several good features about this camera too. It's got the Sony Super HADII Effio combination that produces great video, a 2.8 - 12 mm varifocal lens, and an infrared mode with about a 50 foot range in total darkness. It also has an OSD that is packed with a lot of adjustable features including one of the most important, wide dynamic range, and the dome cover even has a safety cable that allows the cover to hang when you are making any adjustments to the camera. That's good, because in order to make any adjustments to the positions of the camera or the lens, you have to take the cover off (which I'm not real crazy about). I would still recommend this camera to a friend because the quality of the video and the features available are usually associated with cameras that are in a higher price category.

I just installed a couple of these new Security Camera King 700 TVL Infrared Day/Night Varifocal Vandal Domes and they are pretty sweet! Don't be surprised when you open op the case and find hardly anything there though, that's how powerful the small electronics are. These cameras produce a high quality, color true video with a color resolution at 700 TVL. They've got their own built in infrared LED illuminators that give them a range of about 50 feet also. On top of those two features, another big feature is its sensor chip combo and the varifocal lens. This camera has the Sony Super HAD II CCD with the Effio-E digital signal processor. Don't ask me why, but I'm biased toward CCD's more than I am CMOS's. I can't really say why, I just think that most of the time they capture a higher quality picture. The camera is a standard type easy to mount dome camera. It comes with an On Screen Display menu that includes many important picture enhancing features including wide dynamic range. It's pretty compact inside the case but it's a good quality camera.

I just installed two of your brand new 700 TVL Infrared Day/Night Varifocal Vandal Dome Security Cameras (VD-TP700IR50L2812-W) and they work great! The produce a really clear, detailed video recording that is truly impressive whether it is in color or black and white. When I was mounting the cameras I took the camera case apart (removed the dome hood) and once the dome was removed I thought, "Where's the camera?" I'm so used to seeing all the circuitry and the printed boards inside a dome camera that for a minute I thought it was missing something. IT really has a nice, simplistic inner design to it. I like the thumb screws for adjusting the aim on the camera; they are easy to use and work well. I'm not sure about the adjustments for the lens, though. I kind of like to have adjustments on the outside case that are easy to get to. This camera has two "collars" around the camera on the inside of the case that you turn to zoom and to focus. They have a flat head screwdriver set screw. There are good and bad characteristics to both, I guess. If adjustments can be made on the outside of the case, than that could lead to unwanted settings made by others. If they are inside the case, like this, they are basically tamper proof. However, I will say you made up for the slightly awkward adjustment feature by providing the dome with an attached safety cable to the case. A good idea stolen from the PTZs no doubt. The Sony Super HAD IICCD and the EFFIO-E digital signal processor as always, will not disappoint you and do not skimp on video picture quality. The infrared mode works well to with the 50 foot range being about right. Nice new product!
