This camera has a nice, sleek design for a dome and it produces great video! This is a quality camera with quality features that we have found to be very useful. The 700TVL high resolution produces a nice clear, colorful picture and the 2.8 - 12 mm varifocal lens even gives you some zoom capability in setting up your shot. This camera has an On Screen Display with lot of adjustable features (too numerous for me to mention here) including wide dynamic range. Best of all, it has some really strong infrared LED illuminators that give it about a 100 foot range in total darkness. If you are looking for quality, it's definitely here.

This is a very high quality “upper end” analog camera. I have installed many of these cameras for customers that are looking for a high resolution dome with a long infrared range. The camera comes with a 700TVL resolution Sony ExView HAD II 960H CCD and digital processor combination that I know from experience can be counted on to produce a high quality captured video. The 2.8 to 12mm lens is often for of a beneficial feature for me as well as the customer because the varifocal lens gives me a little more latitude in where and how I mount the camera. The camera has an On Screen Display menu that has just about every feature you could ask for in an analog camera including motion detection, wide dynamic range, digital noise reduction, and may others. It is also dual voltage although I don’t think I have ever used anything but the 12 VDC option, but the 24 VAC is available for add ons to these systems or if you need to use AC for extremely long runs.

You know, if you are going to pay this kind of money for an analog dome camera, it better be pretty good. I mean in this day and age we have approached the threshold of the analogs with the IP megapixles. After all, you can actually purchase megapixel cameras with even higher resolutions than this for LESS than $189.95. But I will say that I am satisfied with this model and that I think it stands up to the challenge of the higher price. One of the good features is the 2.8 mm - 12 mm varifocal lens. If your looking for an overhead camera that can pick up so narrower or zoomed shots, that varifocal lens does make a difference. It works especially well in our warehouse. We have very tall ceilings in the ware house with three tier pallet racks and if you use a standard 3.6 mm fixed lens wide angle camera on the ceiling instead of a varifocal like this one, the people down below basically look like ants to me. So, the varifocal lens bring you a little closer to the floor so to speak. That's even more enhanced by the fact that this camera has a pretty strong array of infrared LED illuminators, giving you a total infrared range in total darkness of about 100 feet. It's dual voltage and also has an OSD with many options. I can't complain about it and I don't think you will either.

Can you beat a Veilux camera with a Sony 960H Super EXview HAD II CCD? I mean you've got the dynamic trio of quality here: Sony sensors, Veilux constructed camera, and sold by Security Camera King. I think it goes with out saying at this point that the 700 TVL color resolution recording quality of this camera is outstanding. Even the black and white infrared mode is high quality (and it's got built in IR LEDs that will give it a range in total darkness of up to 100 feet). I think Security Camera King has made a wise choice to offer this camera. The Veilux loads the On Screen Display (OSD) will al sorts of adjustable features that includes 120 dB maximum wide dynamic range level, white balance which is automatic but can be changed to manual if needed, Sense Up, privacy masking, motion detection, and gamma correction. It's also got digital noise reduction which can be helpful in low light situations. Speaking of which, even though this camera has infrared LEDs, with the Sense Up function on it has a really crazy minimum lighting requirement of only 0.0002 LUX. The OSD can be operated by connecting a pair of wires to your DVR and camera and using the remote RS485 connection. I'd buy more if I needed them, and I would recommend it to a friend.

Have you ever heard of the saying, "A loaded baked potato?" Well this is "A loaded indoor dome security camera." There really is no point in me telling you how good the video picture is on this camera because I really can't do it justice with just words. You truly have to see it to believe it. The only way your going to get anything remotely better is if you move up to an IP megapixel camera. What I will mention are its features because like the "loaded baked potato" this camera has its own share of cheese, chili, sour cream, bacon bits, and butter." You get the picture, right? First of all Security Camera King offers this Veilux brand camera at price indicative of all the features that it does have. The camera features a Sony 1/3" 960H Super EXview HAD CCD II that produces a wonderful color image with a resolution of 700 TVL. It has it's own built in infrared illuminators (30 of them to be exact) that give it an infrared mode total darkness range of about 100 feet. It's even got a 10X digital zoom lens. To keep track of all these features, functions, and settings the camera has an On Screen Display menu that allows you to make adjustments to these settings as needed and boy are there plenty of them. The OSD includes control for the lens, the electronic shutter, back light compensation, wide dynamic range, automatic gain control, Sens-Up, white balance, motion detection, privacy zones sharpness, digital noise reduction, and so on and so on. If it's adjustable, this camera can do it. It's a great camera with a great picture and I guarantee you won't be disappointed with it.

I've been working in the CCTV industry for many years and I am familiar with many different types, sizes and brands of cameras, DVRs, and other equipment. This camera is actually a Veilux camera and I have never been able to find anything negative to say about a Veilux product so if this review sounds biased I guess that's why. The camera has a great detail video resolution of 700 TVL. That's about as fine a color resolution as your going to get at the present without going into the IP megapixel cameras. The color video picture (and the infrared black and white for that matter) is absolutely of the highest quality. I have never experienced any noticeable flickering, waves, or interference of any kind. There are several options for low light conditions including the sens-up feature but the camera has some strong built in infrared LEDs that allow it to max out at a range of about 100 feet in total darkness. It's got a nice 2.8 - 12 mm varifocal lens (even though it says "2.8" you really have to start around three point something though to prevent lens aberrations). The camera even has a digital zoom up to 10X if you need it. You get a lot of options with the OSD like wide dynamic range, motion detection, lens shading compensation, and privacy mask to name a few. Excellent camera, excellent brand name that you can trust without a doubt.

We use this camera in our 16 channel Security Camera King DVR system specifically for our front check out area and office. The camera produces a high resolution crisp, clear, color video. At night the infrared mode does just as good a job in black and white. One of the many advantages to this camera is the 2.8 - 12 mm varifocal lens. The camera also has several camera controlling features including lens control, wide dynamic range, digital zoom, white balance, and motion detection to name a few. These are all controlled by an on screen display menu system that can be operated directly from the DVR using the RS485 connection. The quality from this camera is simply superior.

We own a pawn shop that also provides check cashing services so security is very important to us. I acquired a Security Camera King DVR through a purchase about a year ago and decided that I would use it myself to set up my own system for the business. Since that time I have purchased several items from your on line store. Recently we purchased the 700 TVL Super High Resolution Color Day/Night IR Dome Camera. This is an excellent camera. It's made by Veilux so I know the camera is made to good quality standards. We like it for several reasons. First it has a varifocal lens (2.8 to 12 mm) that allows you to adjust your shot from wide to tight. Combine that with the 700 TVL resolution and you can pick up an amazing amount of fine detail. If you're going wide and long with this camera, it has plenty of built in infrared LEDs to provide a range of close to 100 feet in total darkness. The on screen display menu system can be used to set many features including backlight compensation, wide dynamic range, automatic gain control, Sens-up, white balance and many, many, more. This camera also has an optional motion detection feature that I like. This camera is high quality and you're paying not only for a 700 TVL resolution, but a varifocal lens, IR capability and many features. I have no problem with rating it five stars.

Don't consider purchasing the TPD-70IRC30L2812D camera unless you are serious about your security camera system. This camera produces an extremely high quality professional video that is color correct. In addition, the camera switches to night mode and uses its infrared LEDs to produce a monochrome infrared image that is just as clear and fine detailed as the daytime color image. I don't have any problems with the infrared range on my camera; the manual says you can get about a 100 foot range using IR and I would say that is accurate. The 2.8 to 12 mm varifocal lens is convenient for changing your shot from an overview to a narrower field of view. The camera has an on screen display menu system that allows you to make adjustments to its electronic features and there are plenty of them. Just to name some of the features for example: wide dynamic range, digital noise reduction, zero defect, motion detection, zero defect, eclipse function, privacy mask, sens-up and many more. I'm very satisfied with the performance of this camera with my Security Camera King DVR.

Security Camera Kings High Resolution TVL camera, TPD-70IRC30L2812D, is about the best indoor dome camera you can buy for the best high resolution video pictures besides an IP megapixel camera. The video it captures is smooth, color correct, and finely detailed with a clean, sharp picture. The camera comes with dual voltage but as I have a Security Camera King DVR I only need the 12 VDC option. The camera has an on screen display menu system that allows to to make adjustments to it's many video enhancing features such as wide dynamic range, 3D digital noise reduction, motion detection, lens shading compensation, privacy masking and backlight compensation to name just a few. It also has a Sense-up function and using this with the digital image stabilization helps to provide very clear color video in very lo light. In addition, the camera can also switch to infrared mode and capture clear infrared video in black and white. The camera has a 2.8 - 12 mm varifocal lens that gives you the ability to go from wide angle view to a tight shot and it also has a digital zoom that goes up to 10X. The camera is easy mount and works well with my DVR.
