700TVL Weatherproof Indoor/Outdoor Varifocal IR Bullet Security Camera
Review by Calvin Jenkins on Mar 16, 2014
I think this is the best Security Camera King bullet camera you can get for the price and the included features. It produces a great color/black and white video that is very accurate on both color/black and white and is high quality with some pretty good detail at 700 TVL. The camera actually records in even higher resolution, at 730 TVL in black and white. I never thought I would see an analog camera get over 700 TVL in resolution! There are several positive qualities about the camera. Some of them include that since it is a weatherproof bullet, you get the quality of a box camera without the added expense of the lens and outdoor casing you would other wise need for a box camera. Also, because of the construction of the mount, you have the freedom to move the camera in just about any position you want after mounting it unlike some of the more restrictive dome cameras. Another plus is the camera's varifocal lens. With a range of 2.8 to 12 mm you can go from very wide angle to zooming in a bit with a narrower field of view. This helps in deciding where to mount the cameras since the lens is varifocal it gives you a little more latitude in this respect. Even though this camera has an infrared mode, it is still rated for 0.001 lux without it, which is pretty darn sensitive. However if you do use the infrared mode, the on-board LED illuminators will give it a range of about 100 feet in total darkness and more if there are other infrared illumination sources around. The camera has a little joystick button that is built right into the camera cable so you can adjust the On Screen Display menu, or you can take advantage of its ability to connect to an RS485 port on your DVR for remote control of the OSD from your DVR. And of course the OSD has several electronic features that you can adjust to enhance your video, including wide dynamic range which helps to eliminate a lot of lighting problems that you may often encounter from outside installations. In addition, I haven't found any other company the deals with video security other than Security Camera King that has such a fantastic, able-bodied tech support staff.

700 tvl Weatherproof indoor/outdoor Veifocal IR Bullet Security Camera

the church I attend in Northeast Texas had another person install a surveillance camera system and they did not install proper cameras. The distances that were needed for the IR was 200' and the ones that were installed were only 20' cameras. So, I ask the church if they would allow me to install the proper cameras as the other company was trying to sell our church big expensive IR lights for the auditorium.
I purchased the 4 cameras (in white) for the church that has 300' IR throw. After the installation, the cameras worked perfectly and you can see everything in the auditorium without the aid of the other IR light force and we were able to save our church several hundred dollars.
Thanks for producing the Proper cameras for the right installation. All I had to do was ask the sales department if they had cameras available to light up objects 300' away. The answer was "Yes". Now our church auditorium is covered properly without having to purchase extra lighting for the other camera systems.
Thanks Techvisioncctv.com
You are the best!!!

Not as good as hoped for

I ordered two of these cameras. The first one has two issues - 1) at night on IR light, I get a lot of what I can only describe as sparkling effect away from the very center of the view and gets stronger the farther from the center you look. Also this camera is difficult to focus. I am still not happy with the focus right now. I spent over an hour trying to focus it better to no avail. The tech did ask for screen shots so he could take a look at what my issues are with #1 camera. #2 camera has a major halo effect across the top half of the viewing area when using IR which makes it impossible to see anything. I have cleaned the lens twice and also pointed the camera straight away from the house with no visible light around - again no effect on the halo effect. It almost looks like some of the IR light is reflecting inside the camera somehow into the camera lens itself. #2 camera is just as difficult as #1 camera to get a precise focus.

I am not particularly pleased with either of the two cameras I ordered and installed.

700TVL Weatherproof Indoor/Outdoor Varifocal IR Bullet Security Camera
Review by Gary Singer (Texas USA) on Jan 29, 2014
This is definitively a "better quality" bullet camera. The video quality captured by this camera is very good and must be attributed to the Sony Super HAD II CCD and the Effio-E Digital Signal processing chip. Not only do I get great full color video captures in 700TVL resolution but when the camera switched to black and white the resolution bumps up a little to 730TVL! The camera has a 2.8 to 12mm varifocal lens which, of course, is manual and only helps to enhance your shot all the more. Speaking of enhancements this bullet comes with an On Screen Display menu (OSD) and the controller is built right into the video cable. It's basically like a joystick button and is convenient saving you the hassle of having to open the camera to make changes on the OSD. The OSD includes adjustments for features like wide dynamic range, back light compensation, and digital noise reduction (especially useful for low light recording). I'm very pleased with the results.

The 700tvl is is a step in the right direction compared to the previous bullets it replaced, the wide angles are fantastic and the clarity of the camera. I don't know if it might be possible but it would be nice if there could be nice to get more swing on the arm for positioning the cameras.

nice camera. replaced older one with this one and it was really easy to install. the adjustments are easy to access and position. the vari-focus is simple but if you don't have a portable monitor it's alot of up and down the ladder. it would have helped if the instructions described these adjustments. (i actually read the instructions this time.)

This is a "well balanced" high quality camera. When I say "high balanced" I mean the quality of the camera and it's additional features are very much on par with the price. The manual varifocal lens works very well and increases the efficiency of the camera from the standpoint of allowing you to obtain a better or the best shot. I found the On Screen Display to be very useful (and easy to access and use) for also ensuring that I get the best possible video from this camera. The wide dynamic range does a good job of helping to compensate for various lighting extremes. I would also add that Security Camera King has a very good technical support team that was very helpful to me.

This is a quality camera, from the all aluminum housing down to all the features. Excellent picture quality. I put one in for a customer who had his system put in by a major security company in the industry. He was very impressed with the video, that he is waiting for his maintenance contract to expire to update all his cameras to these!

700TVL Weatherproof Indoor/Outdoor Varifocal IR Bullet Security Camera
Review by Pat Snider on Oct 05, 2013
OK, so I ordered this camera on line and had it at my door in three days. I think that was fast. The camera was packaged properly and there was no damage or problems when I opened the package. Mounting was basically easy (standard) and setting the camera up was fairly easy too. This camera has a very good low light sensitivity because it continues to record in color during conditions that I would have automatically expected the infrared LEDs to snap on and start going monochrome. When they do, it does have a range of 100 feet so they re pretty strong. The lens is a standard varifocal lens, 2.8 to 12mm, and with a little bit of experimentation, you can get everything where you want it. For the price and performance, I'd rate this camera at 4 stars.

700 TVL Bullet Varifocal Bullet Camera Focus Issue
1 of 1 people found this posting helpful
Review by Darrell Hall (Texas USA) on Sep 16, 2013
I purchased two of these cameras to replace older cameras that were giving problems. I have installed one and so far I am still working on getting a nice focused image. The depth of field so far is very narrow and not much of the image is in focus at one time. The focus adjustment is extremely sensitive to the slightest movement and the focus goes from too much turn of the adjustment in one direction to too far the other directions with just the slightest movement. I have it set to a wide angle view and will try it with a tighter view to see if the focus improves. Depending on how the focus issue turns out I will decide if I will return the 2nd camera and go back to a fixed focal lens.

This camera does have a good low lux capability in that the slightest amount of external light will keep the camera in color mode and the IR illuminators off. When the IR is activated the night vision is bright and perhaps a little to bright for the range that I am using this camera for, the center of the image is almost washed out. I can not fault the camera for this since the IR range capability of the camera is much greater than what I apparently need.

In daylight the colors are excellent. I am hoping I can get the focus issue cleared up, because I think this could be a great camera.
