Our Elite Series DVR features embedded Linux OS, remote monitoring from anywhere in the world, audio recording on all channels and H.264 compression. This is NOT a PC based DVR which is subject to viruses and hacking. This is a standalone unit built for only one purpose - the best quality video surveillance in the world.
The Elite Series DVR is the state-of-the-art in digital surveillance technology. This DVR features professional grade components and is manufactured to industrial standards. Its advanced functionality makes this one of the best standalone systems on the market today.
This unit is all about versatility. With HDMI, VGA and BNC Video outputs, you can operate several different monitors simultaneously. And, with the included Matrix output, you can also run a separate monitor that can be programmed to display a completely different series of cameras! Need to output a single camera to its own monitor? This is not a problem with our built-in loop connectors. Every channel has its own BNC output that can be used to provide video to a monitor, a multiplexer, or anywhere you need it!
The Elite Series utilizes H.264 hardware compression to bring you great quality video while maximizing your hard disk storage capacity. This DVR is capable of recording CIF resolution on all channels at 30fps and D1 resolution on all channels at 7fps simultaneously.
The Elite Series DVR is amazingly simple to setup and operate. An intuitive mouse-driven interface provides very simple point-and-click control over all functions and settings. In addition, the unit also includes an IR remote control. The jog shuttle control can be used to easily fast forward, rewind, and advance frame by frame. Up to 8 channels can be played back at the same time at the DVR, and 4 channels can be played back via the web interface or client software.
The built-in Web server allows you to perform most every function of the DVR remotely with Internet Explorer. Client software is also included to allow you to centrally monitor multiple Elite Series units simultaneously. Two-way audio over the network or Internet is also standard on the Elite Series. So, not only can you hear what is going on, you can interact. This DVR supports up to 20 simultaneous network or Internet users. With Dynamic DNS support, it is not necessary to have a static IP address on your network in order to remotely access this DVR. This saves you money, as most ISPs charge extra for a static IP address.
Having the ability to remotely view your system is great, but what if you are on the road and just can't monitor your system all the time. This is no problem with the Elite Series DVRs highly flexible email capability. Just set up a standard POP email account and have the system email you anywhere based on any criteria you choose. Many of our customers have emails sent to their cell phone for real time alerts. You choose email triggers that you want, and the DVR does the rest.
Storage capacity will never be a problem with the Elite Series DVR. Up to 4 SATA hard disk drives can be installed if no burner is mounted, and up to 3 SATA drives can be installed if you choose to use the DVD-RW drive. In addition, the DVR supports eSATA to allow you to use removable external eSATA drives to store your footage. RAID hard disk management keeps your data safe from hard drive failures, while FTP backup and recording functionality ensures your video is safe even if the DVR is destroyed.
Video can be backed up to a DVD-RW or a USB thumb drive for safe keeping or in the event that you must give the footage to the police. Video can also be saved right on your PC for easy access.
The easy 3D mouse operated PTZ control allows you to control any PTZ camera. Just click on the screen and drag your mouse around. The PTZ camera follows the mouse pointer so you can smoothly and accurately follow any objects of interest.
This system runs on a rock solid Linux embedded OS, with embedded web server, and digital signal processors to bring you the most powerful network-based digital video recorder available. This high end system will provide you with everything you need other than a monitor. If you tie the system into your network, you wont even need a monitor to view your DVR.
The Elite Series DVR comes with an industry leading FULL 3 YEAR WARRANTY !!
And don't forget that we provide support for every step of your installation project.
***Please note: In most cases we will be able to remotely assist you in the configuration of your computer network for remote DVR viewing. However, we cannot be responsible for complex network configuration or the performance of your internet connection.***

8 Channel Elite Series H.264 Realtime Security DVR
Review by Erin Hallenburgh on Apr 09, 2013
This is a great DVR but more than that Security Camera King's support department is especially helpful and fantastic! This may be the wrong place to put this, but my review deals more with the support I received from Security Camera King than the actual DVR. But don't get me wrong, I don't intend to totally leave out the 8 Channel Elite Series DVR in my review, it's just that I was so impressed with Security Camera King's support that I thought I should focus on that. First of all, I'm the Head (and actually the only staff member) of maintenance here at are small rural medical clinic. When the clinic decided they wanted to install a security system they asked if I would be able to install it to save them some money. Since I used to be an electrician, I didn't think installing a security camera system would be difficult so I said "Okay." We determined that for the best coverage, the clinic should have an 8 camera system. So they decided to purchase Security Camera King's 8 Channel Elite Series DVR. The clinic has several examining rooms, a couple of waiting areas, but more importantly, an attached pharmacy and that was what they wanted the security camera system the most for. Anyway, there is no question about the quality performance of the DVR. You won't be disappointed by it and it does an excellent job. No breakdowns, no constant fiddling, none of that. Installing the system was a piece of cake; my home TV Dolby surround system was more difficult to install than this. However, I am a real computer idiot. Oh I use computers but that is either for typing or to use the Internet, that's it. I know absolutely nothing further. After installed everything and it came time to set things up, I was totally lost. I don't know what an IP address is; I don't even know how a mouse works. So I contacted Security Camera King and "yelled for help." There support department was right there to help me out. I couldn't believe it. When I told them how non-proficient I was with computers, the were very helpful and informative (not condescending at all) and they walked me through the entire process of setting up my system the way I needed it set up, step by step. They explained many functions of the On Screen Display menu and they help get the system connected to the Internet. These guys were smart, knew their stuff, and were more than happy to spend the time necessary to help me out. I guess my point is, is that if you don't know how to install your own system, don't worry these guys will "cover your back" and in the process you'll save lots of money. I definitely would recommend Security Camera King to others.
8 Channel Elite Series H.264 Realtime Security DVR
Review by Mancuso, Lanny (New York USA) on Mar 13, 2013
This is a professionally designed unit for applications that require complete coverage, including sound. The DVR has the ability to handle 8 channels of separate audio recording while simultaneously recording 8 channels of video recording at the CIF resolution and 30 frame per second rate. The recorded videos are very clear and sharp and are also color correct. If you record at night time and use infrared cameras, generally if the camera quality is good the black and white (or monochrome to more correct) recordings are just as good in quality as the day time color videos. For many individuals, 7 frames per second is a fast enough record rate for security video. This rate is not as smooth as 30 frames per second, and is actually rather jerky, but many applications only need this lower rate. If that is the case, than you can record all 8 channels simultaneously in D1 resolution instead. This DVR also supports, in addition to the 8 audio recording channels a bidirectional (talk and hear) audio channel that can be used for things like entrances, gates, etc. If you need a lot of hard disk drive storage this unit can provide that for you too and even more if you don't purchase the optional internal DVD burner that Security Camera King installs for you. (Note: The DVR does support some external USB CD or DVD burners.) Many of my customers like the multiple display options as well. This unit can display 3 separate monitors simultaneously using the HDMI, VGA, and BNC connections. Many retail business customers, bars, and restaurants like to have a monitor in their back office while maintaining a second one out front near the counter or cash register. The Internet functions on this unit work very well also. You can have the DVR send you an email upon an alarm triggering event (like a camera detecting motion) and you can also gain access to the DVR via a smartphone, tablet, or personal computer using Security Camera King's free downloadable apps. One last item that contributes to the excellence of this product and that is Security Camera King's support department. These people are good, patient, and willing to help. Some of the setup instructions or advanced connections can be a little confusing. Don't be afraid to contact their support department (this applies to professionals as well as do it your selfers) as I think they are the best

This is the "real deal" so to speak. We ordered this DVR along with our system from Security Camera King and installed it ourselves. We didn't have any problem with the installation, but we did need a little assistance with the set up. Security Camera King's technical support department guys (and gals?) are great. They know these things inside and out and are more than willing to help you out when you need help. I've dealt with some other electronic companies before that have technical support departments and often times their technical support isn't anything more than a list of FAQs. Not so here, these are a bunch of great guys that will help you get the job done. As for the DVR itself, we like it. It seems to do a good job of recording both audio and video. I also like the multiple monitors options and the HDMI display is especially nice. The Internet integration is nice and it allows us to get access tot he system using our iPhones from every where we get Internet service. You should be dissatisfied with this product and I'm sure Security Camera King's support folks will be more than glad to help if you do.

This is a great DVR at a reasonable price with high quality construction. The recordings are high quality color recordings in CIF resolution at 30 frames per second, but for we use the D1 resolution at 7 frames per second and it suits us fine! So, we actually get an 8 channel D1 resolution recording (even though it is at a reduced frame rate, that's ok) at an 8 channel CIF resolution recording DVR's price. Because of the nature of our use of this DVR and our system we need to save a lot of footage for later use, so the large size allowing for extra internal hard drive storage works out good for us. We also bought our unit with the DVD burner installed and use it frequently. It is fast and it works well; we've had no problems whatsoever with it. This DVR is suited for us because we also record audio on four channels too. I really had no intentions of using the alarm inputs on the DVR but after I received the package and got familiar with the unit, I decided to go ahead and hook up the alarms too. One note to Security Camera King: I wish you folks also sold regular door and window sensors as well as siren speakers and or lights that work with the DVRs. We actually use two monitors the HDMI of course so we can see the video and hear the sound for the channels and we also use the VGA connection for a second monitor. Using the DVR is pretty easy. Most of what you need to set up or make adjustments to is found on the DVR's On Screen Display Menu which can be operated by the included USB mouse or the included infrared remote control. Or for that matter, you can use the buttons on the front of the DVR or hook it up to the Internet and using Security Camera King's PSS management software, control it from your personal computer. This is one of the better quality DVRs out there, I don't think you'll be unhappy with this at all.

Pretty good DVR. This is a replacement DVR for an older one we have that broke (died actually). The other DVR was a Zmoto brand and it died shortly after the warranty period; talk about planned obsolescence. This Security Camera King TechVision DVR does seem to be constructed of a higher quality but I am still a little uncertain now after what happened to me with the other brand. I'll try to remember to follow up with another review in a couple of years (unless this one fails before than in which case you'll definitely see a review from me).As far as the actual working status of this unit it seems to work very well. The only difficulty I had with it was navigating through the On Screen Display menu system. Clicking through the different screens wasn't difficult, but trying to remember where everything is at and what needs to be adjusted to achieve the desired results was a little tricky for me. It didn't take too long to learn the basics although I am still learning how to control the more advanced functions. We are using three channels of audio, and like an idiot, at the time I ordered my DVR I forgot to purchase microphones. Since the microphones need to be powered they were kind of difficult to find locally so I had to come back to Security Camera King's website and place a separate order. Would I recommend this to a friend you ask? Sure, like I said above my only concern is its longevity but with this unit I get a 3 year warranty instead of 1.

Excellent DVR. I haven't found any other DVRs that compare to mine. The Security Camera King DVRs are generally a little more expensive than the "average" DVR that you can find on the web or locally, but when you take a look at the features that come with the Security Camera King DVR, plus the great support, there really is no comparison. I have a rather large home and after considering the best ways to manage total coverage of my property I decided that an 8 channel DVR would serve the purpose. Now the next thing was to determine whether that DVR would be an Elite, Ultimate, or Federal and mini or full size. The full size Federal and Ultimate DVRs were just too much for what I needed so they were eliminated rather quickly. That left the Elite Mini and the Elite full size. After some deliberation, I settled on the full size 8 Channel Elite DVR for several reasons. First, I get HDMI video output so I can easily connect my system to my big screen LCD TV and watch the cameras in 1080p on the TV. Next, the Mini comes with a one year warranty, but the full size has a 3 year full warranty. I also wanted to set up my home with an alarm system, and the full size model allowed me to do that without purchasing a full size alarm package. Finally, I liked the idea of the very inexpensive DVD burner and the fact that if I really needed the storage room, I could always add external hard drives via the eSATA port on the full size. This DVR produces great recordings and displays, has many features and delivers a quality performance.
Good DVR with High Quality Video Recording and Interesting Options

We purchased the full size 8 channel Elite series H.264 realtime security DVR from Security Camera King several months ago and have enjoyed using it ever since. We've never had a crash, freeze, hang-up, or had to reboot the DVR. The DVR offers a lot of flexibility in many different ways. First, when you think of Security Camera King's Elite series DVRs you generally think of CIF resolution at realtime on all channels. However, this DVR can record CIF on 7 channels and D1 on channel 1 all at 30 frames per second. This is great if you need one camera at a larger resolution. On the other hand, if you can live with a reduced frame rate of about one fourth of realtime (7 frames per second) you can record D1 resolution on all channels simultaneously. Another way this DVR offers plenty of flexibility is its display options. The DVR can display on monitors using HDMI, VGA, or BNC formats or you can use them all at once if you need three monitors. Also, there are BNC loop outs for each channel for spot monitors for example, and one video matrixing output to allow you to program a separate set of camera on another monitor. There's even more than one way to control the DVR. Basically, all of the electronic features of the DVR are managed through an On Screen Display menu. But, the OSD can be controlled by the buttons on the DVR, an included USB mouse, or the included infrared remote control. In addition, you can also control many of the functions via an Internet connection with a computer or smartphone. As you can see the unit is pretty versatile and the quality is excellent.
Excellent Full Size DVR With Plenty of Options and Potential Internal Storage

This Security Camera King 8 channel Elite Series H.264 Realtime Security DVR is great! It's got plenty of storage potential and the DVR is fast and furious! It has no problem processing all 8 channels of digital video at once. If internal hard drive storage is an issue for you, it won't be with this DVR! Eliminate the optional DVD burner and this unit can handle up to a maximum of 12 Terabytes of internal hard drive storage and if that's not enough it has an eSATA port for additional external hard drives. You can record up to 8 full channels of audio with this DVR and it also has connections for alarm input and output. Alarm triggers activate relays that provide 12 VDC to the output channels. I use the HDMI video cable but VGA and BNC outputs are also available. This DVR has a feature called "video matrixing" which allows you to send a mixture of channels to another display if needed. In addition, each channel has a duplicate BNC output connector so you can set up spot monitors for any channel that you desire. You also have your choice for preview display resolutions, and although the DVR records all 8 channels simultaneously in CIF at 30 frames per second, you can increase that resolution to a full size D1 on all channels if you don't mind reducing the frame rate to 7 frames per second. The DVR is controlled by an On Screen Display (OSD) menu that is accessed by the buttons on the front of the DVR, a USB mouse, or an infrared remote (the mouse and remote are included). If you prefer to have remote access to your DVR or to monitor your cameras you can even do that with applications for computers, smartphones, and iPads. This unit just seems to have it all and is also supported by a full 3 year warranty as well.

If you are looking for a CIF resolution recording 8 channel DVR with all the bells and whistles at a reasonable price you can find it here. Security Camera King's 8 Channel Elite Series H.264 Realtime Security DVR offers CIF resolution at 30 frames per second (actually, you can record as large as D1 but at a lower frame rate of 7 fps) and it offers the potential storage capacity to allow the DVR to run continuously for a long period without requiring any attention. For example, if you max out the internal storage at 12 Tb and record all 8 channels 24 hours a day 7 days a week at CIF resolution, you can get over 18 weeks of storage! We actually run the DVR in CIF resolution recording for 7 channels and put channel 1 in D1 at 30 frames per second on our cash register (You can run 7 channels in CIF and channel 1 in D1 and still maintain 30 fps for all the channels.) The DVR has lots of additional features that make it worth the price too, such as 8 channel audio input, 16 channel alarm input and 6 channel alarm output and a variety of video display options including HDMI, VGA, BNC with video matrix possibilities and BNC loop outs for every channel. I installed the unit myself and found it pretty easy to do. Operating the unit requires a little learning as you need to get accustomed to the On screen display menu system that controls everything but it doesn't take very long to figure out where everything is at. Lastly, the remote access via the Internet is just Amazing. I was impressed that you could remotely control the unit by a personal computer but when I tried the Security Camera King app to use my iPhone I was totally dazzled. Excellent unit.
Review by R. Johnson, TE Power Co-Op. Inc. on Nov 06, 2012
Perhaps one wouldn't think a power or electrical company would really need a security camera system since we really don't sell anything material here or deal with cash. Unfortunately, that's not the case. In today's economy, scrap metal theft has become rampant, especially in low income areas and in our cable and pole yards. We use an 8 channel security camera system to provide video surveillance coverage of these areas, especially where we store our copper cables, and our on site office building. At first we were considering having our system professionally installed but in order to save the CO-OP money we decided to perform the installation ourselves. I'm glad we did because we saved a lot of money and the installation was very easy. Part of our installation included Security Camera Kings 8 Channel Elite Series H.264 Realtime Security DVR, the real "mastermind" of the system. I can't express how impressed we are with this DVR. We even decided to use the alarm functions on the DVR on our doors, windows, and yard gates. The DVR does an excellent job of recording and monitoring the cameras and with the 8 terabyte hard drive I'm sure we'll have plenty of storage space. The DVR resides with our security guards and they use it to constantly monitor the area using a large screen LCD monitor via the HDMI output. The DVR continues to perform extremely well and we have experienced very little difficulty in training the security staff to use the DVR.
