Works great! I've purchased three of these for three different installations and they were worth the investment.

We recently installed our own Security Camera King 8 Channel Ultimate security DVR and cameras. We have multiple existing CAT 5 cable jacks in most of our rooms so we thought the easiest way to wire the cameras was to try to use the Cat 5 instead of RG59. We mounted this receiver hub on our rack with the DVR and placed single channel baluns on each of the ends of the cameras and viola! We had ourselves a neat, nicely wired 8 channel video security and surveillance system! This works great and allows you to keep a neat set up for your system if you use Cat 5.

This unit works great and it allowed me to use existing CAT5 Ethernet cable instead running 8 individual RG59 cables. I would suggest to use this device if you purchase an 8 channel system but you already have enough existing CAT5 cable. If the CAT5 is already in place this could save you a lot of time and work.

The original builder of our house had the foresight to pre-wire the building with telephone and CAT 5 UTP cable for just about every room. As far as the computer is concerned, with wireless routers the CAT 5 is almost obsolete. So when I installed our digital video camera security system I thought it would save a lot of time and hassle if I could use the existing CAT cable. This converter was exactly what I needed. Our cameras are "networked" on CAT 5 cable and converted to BNC connectors with this receiver hub. Works great and saved a heck of alot of time and work!
