2 Megapixel ONVIF TP Series IP Long Range IR Bullet Camera
DVR imcompatibiility, focus problems, and horrible night performance
This camera would not work with my $1,200 Security Camera King DVR. I tried tech support, and they were great, and tried many things, but alas. They were not able to get this unit to work with my DVR. Tech support also recommended against using it as a standalone, which it claims it can do on an SD card.
I ended up getting one of the mini recorders, just to be able to use this camera. After setting it up on the new DVR, it does work, however, if you try to zoom in, the range of focus does not support it. The focus knob gets tight before it will focus, so I ended up using it at a mid zoom range when I had bought it for the long distance zoom capability..
Lastly, my experience with it at night is dismal. The IR from this camera shows up well on other cameras, but unless the camera has some form of daylight, I get a completely black image It goes monochrome at dusk, them just black (no picture)..
It does have a crazy number of wires on the pigtail and reportedly can do many things. However for me, it does not work for long range zoom pictures as hoped, or at night, which makes it mildly useless.
I have fixed focal length cameras that cost much less than what this one did, that perform MUCH better.
Some people seem to have had better luck with this camera, however, I would recommend against purchasing this one.

I have successfully set about half a dozen of these up as LPR's. When set at the right height, angle, distance, and focal length, this camera does a nice job at License Plate Recognition. Thanks Techpro

What a pigtail on this camera! There are about 9 or 10 connectors that are factory installed on this camera including RJ45 Ethernet, RS485 remote OSD control, Audio, BNC video out, and even a USB port to name a few. The camera's On Screen Display is pretty involved and the manual doesn't do the camera any justice. The video quality is good but to get a decent frame rate you need to drop the resolution down to 720p. Installation was easy. I though configuring the camera wouldn't be too difficult, but soon I ran into some problems that I couldn't figure out nor did the manual help with. I contacted the Security Camera King tech support department and they took care of the "bumps in the road" in very little time. Their tech support is amazing and their guys really know their products!
