Outstanding DVR / Great Price!
Review by Mark K (North Dakota USA) on Feb 03, 2016
I recently purchased this DVR to upgrade my 2 year old "low budget" analog system. I chose this model because it had enough inputs for my application, and it has alarm inputs and outputs (which I did not have on my old system) and I want to start experimenting on how to implement them.

The nice thing about the "Tri-Brid" DVR is that I could keep my analog camera's and replace them as I need to. After seeing the results of the 3 1080P dome camera's I purchased with the DVR, that will not be too far in the future. Very impressive!

I had some minor issues setting up the DVR for remote viewing, mainly because of being used to my older DVR, but the excellent support at Security Camera King had me straightened out in no time! I now can view use the system just fine on my iOS device, My Macbook (SmartPSS) as well as on my 46" TV at home via my home theater system!

These people know their stuff, and won't talk down to you... in other words they quickly got a sense of my IT ability and adjusted their support accordingly! No... "be sure it's plugged into the wall securely" with me. That means a lot to me, and saves a lot of time.

I will be doing business with Security Camera King going forward!

Our experience with this unit has been very good. It's easy to install the hard drives, and includes the SATA cables. The local onscreen GUI is easy to use, and has a lot of features. If you have cameras that have their own onscreen menu, their menu can be accessed by pressing the PTZ button, then expand the PTZ menu, then press the PTZ menu button. Everything just works out of the box, but there is a ton of customizability in all of the DVR options like bitrate, resolution, etc, etc. Works with old analog or new HDCVI cameras over existing coax, or you can use up to 2 IP cameras out of the 8 available plugs. This particular DVR can output to HDMI or VGA, but keep in mind it does not have a BNC video (composite) output, but I knew this before buying.
