This is a good camera with a lot to offer in options and features. It seems to have just about everything. About the only thing that I think they have left that they could possibly improve upon with this camera is a higher resolution, but even so, the picture it produces is a very good quality video picture. I suppose the low light sensitivity could be a little better too, as it has a rating of 0.1 Lux for daytime (color) and 0.01 Lux for night (black and white). Otherwise the options seem almost endless. We had to wait before we ordered it to be certain where we wanted to mount it because Security Camera King offers it in three different mount types. As far as the electronic features are concerned, that's where the camera really excels. It has automatic tracking with intelligent surveillance and even an alarm function (which I think is rare for an analog camera). One thing I've noticed about this camera compared to other PTZs we have and have had in the past is that the PTZ movements seem very smooth; so smooth in fact that it is easier to identify faces of individuals even at the 540 (versus say 700) TVL resolution. Of course the camera has this feature, the intelligent surveillance that can remember an individual bases on shape and color which is just awesome. Other electronic features include masking options, wide dynamic range, and a built in heater and blower (yes, we ended up purchasing the outdoor mount). But probably the most incredible feature of them all is the 36X zoom! This lens is remarkable and can really pick out things that you wouldn't get with other lesser powered zoom cameras. Even the extra 10X digital zoom enhances the telephoto and magnification aspects of the camera. Although it's not the highest resolution camera, when you consider all of the features that this camera has to offer and the power of the zoom lens, I think it is worth the price. I would recommend it to others.

Excellent Camera! This camera has a great zoom lens with a 36X zoom power that really can pick up the smallest objects close, and bring in objects closer that are much farther away. It's a good telephoto experience with no distortion because the 36X is all optical created zoom (it also has 10X digital zoom). Of course the best feature about this camera is that it is auto-tracking. It will be difficult for someone to get away from the "eye" of this camera, especially with the powerful zoom. The camera moves pretty quickly but I was especially impressed with how smooth the movements were, even though they were rapid. The true day/night capabilities of this camera with its Infrared Cut filter Removal is pretty good but not outstanding. The minimum illumination ratings for this camera are 0.1 LUX during the day and 0.01 LUX at night; sensitive, but not extremely sensitive. Besides that, about the only other feature that could possibly use a little improvement would be the resolution. At 540 TVL the resolution certainly isn't top of the line for cameras these days, but the 36X zoom has a way of making up for that.

Excellent camera and well worth the price. Here's at least three reasons to back up my claim of good quality. First the camera is sold by Security Camera King. I've been purchasing products from them for a few years now and I haven't found one item that wasn't a high quality product. Second, this is a Veilux camera. Excellent brand, well renowned reputation, Veilux products are some of the best in the industry. Third, the cameras main electronic component, the sensor, is a Sony Color CCD. That' a good "triple whammy" for quality and it was enough to convince me to purchase the camera for our purposes. Now as far as personal testimony goes, I can say that this camera works great in just about all aspects. We use an outdoor model with a wall mount. It's mounted on a pole with the pole actually facing an area that we don't want to monitor, so we get complete coverage. The camera has a 360 degree continuous pan. The resolution is pretty good at 540 TVL in color. Personally, I would be a little happier if the resolution was higher but it still certainly isn't bad. Of course the camera has an On Screen Display that allows you to adjust many features including wide dynamic range, backlight compensation, white balance and many others. Now for the "big guns." Of course the feature that really makes this camera is it auto tracking and built in auto focus capabilities. The camera works great for that purpose and doesn't ever loose a person or an object. In fact it's got some sort of electronic technology that provides high-accuracy detection of people by memorizing the color, shape, and contrast of the subjects. (Don't ask me how it works, but I can tell you it DOES work). In my opinion, the other thing that makes this camera so amazing is the 36X optical zoom. If you need more zoom than this on a PTZ camera you'd better get a really good set of binoculars or a telescope. So overall its a good product well deserving of five stars.

This is an excellent auto tracker that displays a pretty good quality video picture for a resolution of 540 TVL. We have a "storage room" (that's actually the size of a warehouse) that is filled with extremely valuable items. Before our employees enter this room they are scanned as well as when they exit. They also know they are under video surveillance the entire time they are in the room. However, if we used an average PTZ camera, we would need another security employee to sit at a monitor all day and track the employees that enter the room manually with a joystick or mouse. This camera actually saves us the cost of adding an additional employee to the payroll. We let it auto track and record and if there is ever any incident, all we have to do is check the recorded video on the disk. The camera has low light sensitivity of 0.1 LUX during the day and night time of 0.01 Lux but that is not even an issue for us as this room is always lit (it has no windows). The camera is loaded with all sorts of features on the On Screen Display including wide dynamic range, back light compensation, and all the others. But to be quite honest, we basically just put everything on automatic and let it do its job. That's what we bought it for and it does a great job. The boss has got to love it because it never goes to human resources with a complaint!...lol. Good camera!

If you are in the market to purchase a camera like this, your prepared to pay a few dollars for a high quality performance PTZ. You'll get that with this camera without a doubt. Even thought this camera "only" has a resolution of 540 TVL color and 680 TVL black and white ("only" as opposed to say 700 TVL), the video picture it produces is amazing quality in color or black and white. The camera has an optical zoom of 36X and if you need anything beyond that you should consider purchasing a telescope instead of a PTZ. This camera will zoom in tight on small objects up close and bring larger ones that are far away in close. It has an OSD that is packed with a lot of electronic features that can enhance your video capturing experience including back light compensation, auto 180 degree flip, white balance, and back light compensation to name a few. But that's not what makes this camera so special. All of those things for this camera are "standard" if you will. The feature that makes this camera is it object auto-tracking feature. No more sitting at a PTZ with a joystick trying to chase somebody or something around the viewing area. Even though it supports Security Camera King DVRs mouse positioning you won't need to have someone sit at a screen and chase people or objects around the viewing area with that either. Instead, this camera detects the object (motion) and sticks with it until it leaves the viewing area and if the object does leave the area, the camera will pick up on it as soon as it returns. Nice camera with impressive auto-tracking feature.

Just when you think that a full 36X zoom PTZ security camera is stretching the limits, they break the barrier with one that can auto track. We purchased the Security Camera King Auto-tracking 36X day/night PTZ dome surveillance camera to protect a storage area at our company that contains some very valuable property. Our storage facility is located outside and we have this camera pole mounted in such as fashion that it can easily detect someone approaching long before they ever reach the entrance. In addition, the auto tracking feature keeps the "camera's eye" on the subject and follows it very closely day or night. I don't know technically if this would be called a "speed dome" but it sure is quick and responsive to PTZ commands and especially while auto tracking. It's got the usual list of features that you would expect from a quality PTZ camera (white balance, etc.) and a built in heater and blower to make sure things don't freeze up (for example it is 7 degrees outside right now). The only thing I think they could do to improve upon this camera and its design is to make it a 700 TVL color resolution camera instead of 540 TVL.

A 36X Day/Night PTZ dome camera with auto-tracking! This camera is all about electronics and technology. The obvious features of this camera include the outstanding 36X optical zoom, the true day/night with infrared cut filter removal (sensitive to pretty low light at 0.01 LUX), and the fact that it is equipped with auto tracking. It also comes in 3 designs to accommodate different types of mounting; surface, in-ceiling, and outdoor. It's also got all the extra features you would expect out of a camera of this caliber. The On Screen Display can adjust many settings, some automatic some manual, such as automatic white balance, back light compensation, day/night functions, auto cruise, and pattern scans. We have the surface mount and it works great!

Another great camera from Security Camera King! (Or should I say cameras, because the outdoor wall mount, the in ceiling and surface mounts all look distinctly different). The picture records high quality video at a resolution of 540 TVL color and 680 TVL at night. It has pretty good light sensitively with a night time rating of 0.01 LUX. This camera is so advanced it's almost kind of eerie. It can recognize individuals based on memorizing their shape, color, and contrast. Even better this camera performs auto tracking and can follow objects around as well as zoom in on them for the best picture, automatically. We use this PTZ for both our parking lot and main employee/customer entrance and it works very well. Not only does it auto track, but it does so very quickly and smoothly. I was impressed with how quickly this camera was able to keep up with people and other objects in the auto tracking mode. When you manually operate the camera, the 36X zoom can pick out subjects at quite a distance and make them look like there right in front of you. We live in a very wintry climate and the camera has never frozen up thanks to the included blower and heater. The OSD comes loaded with all kinds of electronic goodies to make your security video recording experience even better. We like this camera, have no complaints and would rate it at about 4.5 stars. Since there is no "in-between" 4 and 5 stars we'll go ahead and give it a five.

This is one powerful camera! The 36X optical and 10X digital zoom (total 360X) is like using a telescope and that's powerful. The auto tracking feature is very dynamic and the camera's speed is quick to respond as to keep up with most motion tracking requirements and that's powerful. In addition, you can use the masking feature to ignore areas so the camera doesn't waste effort recording unnecessary areas. The camera can actually memorize a subject's color, shape, and contrast providing high-accuracy detection of individuals and that's powerful. It does a pretty good job in low light conditions as well. The outdoor model includes a heater and blower to prevent freeze ups and is also weatherproof. The camera has and on screen display menu system that can be used to adjust a variety of settings including electronic features like wide dynamic range, back light compensation and white balance and that's powerful. See why I said this was one powerful camera?

This camera is really amazing. Using the 36X optical zoom is great but adding a factor of 10, 10 times with the 10X digital zoom really picks up the details. When positioned correctly this camera can take the place of several stationary cameras and makes the price more than worth it. We use this in a particular area of our business where we chose to use the ceiling mount. Using the ceiling mount, people don't really expect the camera to be able to follow them around and zoom in on their activity so it can be somewhat covert in use. The camera has a built in heater and blower which keeps things from getting frosty. The resolution is 540 TVL and with the zoom function you can see just about anything. This camera can actually pick out people based on memorizing their color, shape, and contrast! The motion detection function, intelligent surveillance and the OSD menu electronic features all add to the value of this camera. We'd recommend this camera to others needing a high performance PTZ!
