I like this unit because it is easy to carry in my purse, with my keys, and lots of other places. I can't attest to the effective nees on humans (and I hope I never have to find out) but it definitely works on stray, unleashed dogs. I usually run at night and I have a few dogs in the neighborhood that chase after me. One little squirt their way and the dogs back right off.
