Hi,

This what I've tried so far.

First I formatted a usb drive (Fat32) so it would mount on a windows device and be readable by a Mac.

Downloaded the clip from my NVR. Put the usb drive in my Mac where I discovered the dav file that was 18.5mb .

Used Handbrake to convert to an Mp4.

When I tried to play the file there was nothing on it. Black.

Tried this numerous times with other converters. Same story.

What do you do to convert these .dav files to a readable Mac file?

Best,

Tom

Those two links have converters that work native on Mac. I'm not running a mac any more, so I can't test to verify it works.

Hi Dan,

They didn't work for me. I used an app called Handbrake to convert the files to mp4, but neither app could handle the file. Interestingly enough You Tube could.

Could you ask if any Mac users at Techpro have successfully converted the .dav files to something the Mac can handle?

Best,

Tom

I don't know how many converters I've downloaded and tried.

None of them work.

Is there an option to save the files as avi on the NVR?

I've read that some have it.

Might to a great feature to upgrade the NVR's firmware.

It would make it easier on Windows people too.

There must be a way besides YouTube!

Best,

Tom

Give AppGeeker video converter a try

I always use it to convert all of my videos.

http://www.appgeeker.com

Try and tell me how you go with it.

I myself use ISkysoft on my Macintosh. It also works with Mavericks.
