Is there a way to have the NVR only display the cameras I have connected? I have 5 analog on channels 12-16 and 8 ip cameras on 17-24. I thought I saw someplace where I could create a custom view but now I must be overlooking it.

On the main interface using HDMI or VGA the control of the display options is separated. What can be shown by either analog or IP. This is under main menu/ settings/ display. The other option which gives you greater control is in main menu/ advanced/ video matrix. You have to have a monitor connected using coax to the video out on the DVR.

I guess the question im trying to ask is this;

I have 5 analog cameras connected on channels 12-16. I have 9 ip cameras on 17-25.

The customer wants to know if they can get a 16 channel view to only display the active channels so they don't have all those empty black boxes with no video. The unit is connected to the display with a hdmi cable.

Only way is to use the BNC connection video out. HDMI and VGA may get close to what you want. Go into main menu / setting /display. The hybrids keep the ip cameras and analogs separate.

I see what you are saying but I don't think that is going to give them just a 16 view with only cameras 12-25 showing is it? I wish that I could just create a group of 16 and only the connected cameras would show on the monitor.

Another option would be to use a computer and Techpross software. Then setup software to view specific cameras. Then go into config option at bottom of software to save last monitor status.
