Blue screen of death again on maintenance Tuesday morning at 2 am. I knew what to do. Reformat HDD reboot and plug in cams one at a time. At least I made it two whole weeks this time.

One, is there a new firmware for my  NVR-ELM-8-POE-8-D

P/N 1.0.01.73.11639

s/n wttza4ly168w00014

Build 2014-07-11

Web 3.1.0.4

System Version 3.200.0000.3

8ch          4 alarm in              2 alarm out

Two, I have one 6TB HDD in there, new from SCK. The NVR is rated 8TB total with two sata connections. Is it possible it's looking for 2 4TB HDD to equal 8TB and not one 6TB ??? Meaning any HDD over 4TB will make the NVR fail.

The video is stunning and everyone is shocked at the quality....when it runs.

Boo hoo for me.

Hi,

I am going to hook up the same set up you have here in my shop and I will set it to auto reboot several times over and over again to see if this is an error with that unit and the hard drive.

Also,

There is a firmware update for your unit. https://app.box.com/s/mot4fu6f.....dsk55re6pz

Please please make sure you use the config tool to push this firmware to this NVR, DO NOT use the web interface of the NVR. You can get the tool here... https://www.securitycameraking.....#038;ind=0

Push that firmware and then you can change the auto maintain to anytime you want and then change the time of the NVR to a minute or two before the auto maintain. This way you do not have to wait a week to test this. I will continue to test this here to check ab out the hard drive. Thanks.

Updated fast and successfully. The new version date is 11-27-2014 the previous version was July 2014.

It runs fine, looks the same to me. What kind of improvements does this update have?

Thanks for your help again,

Firmware updates contain software fixes.  There is no change in functionality.
