I have used PSS some, but usually use Web Service.  When I go into PSS, then attempt to login to the device, I get the message Account has been locked out.  I have attempted to use the lock icon in the upper right with asks for the admin user and password, but it does not unlock the device. I think part of the problem is that I have added 2 logins for the same device. So, here are the questions:

1. why does it lock.

2. how do I unlock the device account?

3. probably most important.  I can see how to delete a user.  How do I delete a device from the software.

The instruction manual is not very clear regarding this.

Thanks, Larry

Dear Larry,

Thank you for contacting us. Let me explain a little bit how PSS works. PSS is a software that will allow you to connect to one or more DVRs from one single interface. This Software will allow you to logged in to multiple DVRs/NVRs and Megapixel Cameras and will allow you to stream video from those devices to the software interface. This software also have some security features such as software password, software locked, etc. When you initially launch the software it will require for you to input a password for the admin username. This username and password the software is asking as soon as you open it is NOT the DVRs username and password, instead is the credentials to fully open or close this software. The DVRs we sell have the same username and passwords the software uses. To add a DVR to the software you will need to go to Device Manage and input the information of the DVR. You will need to add a DVR Name (Anything intuitive for you), also you need to input the Internal or External IP address of your DVR, depending of the case. Lastly you will need to input the TCP port of the DVR which by default is 37777 and the username and password of one of the users of the DVR. The DVR have 3 main username and passwords, there are 2 users with admin rights and 1 users with lower rights (Basic functions). At this point you can only use the admin username and password from the DVR due to the fact that the other 2 usernames on the DVRs will only work locally at the unit and not from a software. If you want to use another user then you will need to create it in the DVR and assign it to the admin's group. If you change the password of the admin account in the DVR, then you will need to update the password in the software under Device Manager. Make sure you always save the settings after any changes you made. If you still have issues with this please contact our Tech Support Department and they will be able to help you and maybe logging to the machine you are having the issue with the software.

Thank you!Cool

Dear operator, i have the same problem with "locked message".

I have to delete old account and create new one but after couple of login i have the same problem. Your account has been locked.

I have to admit you, at the same time i log in on destop comp (with pss) and two androids ( gDMSS lite ) with the same user name and pass, maybe thats the problem ? After that my user account has been locked.

Maybe this is security issue, maybe dvr recognized diferent software ( gDMSS lite for android ) and block this user and lock account ?

How many people can login with the same user name and passwords in the same time ? From diferent computers, countries.... Or we have to create diferent users and passwords for every user ?

Best regards

Hello,

Our DVRs are capable of having 20 users connected simultaneously, other DVRs allows you to have 128 users connected. I will assumed that the username you are using have administrator rights and you have check the reusable checkbox for that username. Also if you are using PSS in the mix and you change your password for that user then it is recommended that you disconnect the DVR's network cable and change the password in PSS settings for that username. The reason is when you open PSS the software will attempt to connect to the DVR and if you don't have the password correctly in the software then it will lock the account. Once you have change the password in the software make sure you click OK in the username window then OK again to close the device settings window. You should do the same thing for your phone and any other device you use to connect to the DVR. After you are done connect the ethernet cable of the DVR again and it should work fine.
