Hello all and thanks for what ever help you can give me.

I am needing to setup some cameras at the in-laws home. She has went to the nursing home and with the house empty we are afraid of a break in. I have cameras at my home. I use Foscam and Vivotek cameras and Sighthound (Vitamin D) software on a computer to record.

I am wanting to maybe setup a NVR so as to bypass the need to buy a computer and software to record with. At the moment I am thinking 3 wired cameras and one wireless one will give me the coverage I need. I was thinking a 8 channel NVR to allow for extras if needed.

I do not have internet access to the home so there will be no remote viewing. I would setup a mid range router and add a POE switch so as to power the cameras.

PROs and CONs please.

Equipment suggestions?

I was looking at the Hikvision stuff pretty hard. Yes? No?
