Active Balun can transmit video for distances up to 1500 meters (around 5000 feet).

Passive Balun is up to about 1,100 Feet to transmit your video signal from your surveillance camera.

Both can be found here

at 1000 feet you are in a grey area. I would try the passive first. If they do not work you will need to use active.

Can I just go with the active and be ok? Would I need 2 active or 1 passive on the camera side and 1 active on the dvr side?

if you are within the allowed distance of the passive, the active will not work. I would first try passive. Then if that doesn't work, exchange one passive (the one on the camera end to active). I know this is a pain, but you are on the cusp.

Oh ok. I was unaware that if the distance was in the range for a passive that the active would not work. I'll just order a set of both then. The 1000' was just a guess, it may very well be a couple 100' short of that.

Im thinking you will be using the passive at that distance. The cut off is 1200 feet before going active. Normally. There could be outside factors that would make you use the active baluns at a shorter distance.
