This single channel ACTIVE video balun transmitter will transmit video from a single CCTV security camera over a single pair of cable from a CAT5 UTP cable. Use this when distances exceed the capability of PASSIVE video baluns. With this Active balun, you can transmit video for distances up to 1500 meters (around 5000 feet).
If you're going to have to use CAT5 and you plan on going very far with it, you're going to need some help. This single channel Active Video balun transmitter is just what the video doctor ordered. It gives your video signal that little extra "kick" to get things going.

I own a pretty large ranch that likewise includes a very large barn. My home is located on the property as well and I have my house protected by a security camera surveillance system. The barn also has an office room and we had a couple of Cat 5 cables installed to the office from the office in the house for Internet and other computer uses. We never needed the extra Cat 5 cable. I wanted to put a couple of cameras around the barn that could be connected to my DVR in the house so I was told I could use the unused existing Cat 5 cable if I had an active balun for each camera. I purchased these transmitters and the whole thing works great! Two new cameras on the barn and no need to run any new wires or cable from the house to the barn! The baluns must give the signal a nice boost because the picture is sharp, clear and interference free.

I've completed a review about on of your security camera systems that we purchased to here at the resort and it works perfect! However, I also wanted to comment on these baluns which we purchased because of some unusually long cable runs. We have used our cameras at the resort to monitor various areas throughout the resort, including lifts, runs, slopes, indoor spa activities and so on. We have a large screen monitor in the entrance to the chalet that both the employees and welcoming guests can view and I must say it has worked out has a popular novelty with the guests. Now to the point: Because of some of the long cable runs I'm told by our electronics maintenance team that the regular CCTV cable just wouldn't work; they experienced degradation or loss of signal, distortion, and other problems. At their advice we purchased several of Active balun transmitter and receivers and installed them with Cat5 cable and the pictures were crystal clear! My point is that these baluns can be an apparent "live saver" for your system if you have incredibly long cable runs and they really do boost the single and maintain its integrity. I would highly recommend them to others that have long cable runs to make to their cameras.

I am the manager of a 22,000 square foot training facility that contains complete security camera coverage throughout the building. Our training facility has several rooms within a long rectangular shape, so our camera lead runs from one end of the building to the other require an active balun to boost our signals. This transmitter, in conjunction with your active balun receiver works great! We have no loss in video quality and have had no problems at all with the baluns.
