This Passive Balun will allow you to transmit power and video over CAT5 cable up to 1,000ft. Just use standard RJ-45 connectors on the ends of the CAT5 cable. These baluns have RJ-45 plugs built right in!
- Transmit CCTV video and power over 1,000ft using CAT5 Cable
- Built-in Linearity, sharpness and chroma control
- Enable unparalleled common interference rejection
- Built-in transient protection
- Improve the picture definition when connected to DVR or Quad, and reduce noise
If you are going to run an analog camera over CAT5 cable you are going to need a balun to make the conversion from a BNC coaxial cable connector to the CAT5. However, with most standard baluns you still have to figure out how to get the power to the camera. With this balun you can use a pair of wires for the video and another pair of CAT5 wires for the power so you can send both video and power over the CAT5. Works great!

These almost make it too easy to run CAT5 cable instead of coax. The have worked fine for me and I have used quite a few. No interference or unnecessary noise either.

They work great and they are a nice way to stick everything for an analog system (power and video) in a single CAT5 cable.

These are nice baluns to use if you are using CAT5 cable. You can use these baluns to convert your BNC video connections to the standard RJ45 CAT5 plugs and it also allows you to run power through the CAT5 as well. That means all you have to do is plug one balun's power jack into the power supply plug the other balun's power jack into the camera power line and plug the CAT5 into both baluns and away you go. They do a good job of maintaining a clear, strong signal as well.

These baluns really do the trick. I don't know if they truly "boost" the signal or not but they certainly do provide a nice, clear video transmission over Cat 5 cable. Not only that, but they also work as great converters for the power supply so you can run your power through your Cat 5 cable instead of running a separate power cable. Definitely worth the small investment if you want to use Cat 5 cable with power.

These baluns provide the perfect opportunity to use easier to handle CAT 5 cable for installations then typical RJ coax cable. Not only do they provide a smooth transition to the Cat 5 cable but they also allow you to run power through the CAT 5 eliminating the need for an additional cable run. Finally, the real "punch" is the added stability and boost that the passive balun provides the signal. These can be a real life saver for an installer at only $8.99 each!

I install various types of electronic systems from computers to digital video security systems. I use these on CAT5 wiring jobs as long as there is no audio involved and the work extremely well. If there is an active audio channel involved then I use your "Single Channel Passive Video Balun with Audi, Video, and Power." Both do a good job of keeping the signals true.

These baluns are sweet! They have allowed me to use my existing CAT 5 cable to use for my power, audio, and video for each camera. Talk about a time saver and convenience! I haven't had any interference or other connectivity problems. I recommend these for anyone that already has or wants to use CAT 5 cable for relatively short runs.
