The AL-LR1000-P extends the maximum distance that Ethernet can be used for an IP camera beyond the standard 328 feet to a new maximum possible distance of 3280 feet. This product is separated into transmitter (AL-LR1000-TX) and receiver (AL-LR1000-RX), neither of which needs to be connected to a power outlet as long as the transmitter is connected to a POE switch.
The idea behind this extender is that you can have an Ethernet cable (up to 328 feet) run from a POE switch to the transmitter. Then you have a length of RG-59 or coaxial cable (up to 2624 feet) from the transmitter to the receiver. Last, you will connect a receiver to the camera with an Ethernet cable (up to 328 feet). The combined length of all of these cables cannot exceed 3280 feet.
Both data and power are transmitted through this device, although the maximum bandwidth and the maximum amount of power that can sent this way is determined by the total cable distance. It can carry 100 mbps up to 1312 feet and 10 mbps up to 3280 feet. The spec sheet below has a chart that explains this distance break down in more detail.
This device supports POE protocols IEEE802.3af and IEEE802.3at. It also supports network standards IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3u, and IEEE802.3x. You can tell the transmitter (AL-LR1000-TX) because it has 'POE IN' printed on it and the receiver (AL-LR1000-RX) will have 'POE OUT' printed on it.
