About Our Products

HD DVR Recorders

HD DVR Recorders normally receive their signal transmission over Coax cable such as RG59 or RG6. HD DVRs use one of several different types of transmission. There is HD-CVI, HD-TVI, AHD and Analog CCTV. There is very little difference between the 3 different HD transmission technologies however it is important to note that both the cameras and the recorder must use the same technology to function correctly.

Almost all of our HD DVRs can work with any of the 4 technologies now we have grouped all compatible equipment on our website to make it easier to select the right products. Also, almost all of our HD DVR recorders accept at least some IP camera transmission over the network. So this means that in most cases you can combine older analog technology, IP cameras and HD over coax cameras in a single system.

IP NVR Recorders (NVRs)

Network IP- NVRs’ are compatible with our IP cameras, and use a digital signal transferred through a Cat-5 or Cat-6 Ethernet Cable. Our NVRs are usually able to handle higher resolution bandwidth than our HD DVRs and they can connect to IP cameras anywhere on the network including with wireless cameras. Typically IP based system hardware is more expensive than HD over Coax systems but they are easier to expand to more cameras have the ability to handle more processing.

HD Cameras

Our HD cameras work with any of our HD-DVR recorders. The two main technologies are HD-TVI & HD-CVI. These cameras transmit an HD signal over a coaxial at up to 8 megapixel resolutions and do not affect your network bandwidth. Another benefit of HD over coax is that in many cases you can upgrade your old analog system without the need of rewiring. Many of our HD Cameras have 4 in 1 technology which means they can be used in almost any HD Over Coax system whether they use HD-CVI, HD-TVI, AHD or Analog. Just look for the “Universal’ logo with our HD cameras and you will know these work with all current technologies.

IP Cameras

Unlike HD cameras IP cameras can be used stand alone or in conjunction with one of our NVR recorders. IP cameras can deliver resolutions of up to 12 megapixels or even much higher. These cameras offer POE, which means power over ethernet, which allows you to only run one cable for both data transfer and for power. This is a great option if you want your security system to run at a higher resolution than coaxial cables can offer.

IP Cameras are different from analog cameras because all the processing of the video is actually done in the camera rather than at the recorder. IP cameras have much more flexibility, many have built in analytics and on board SD card storage that can be used as a backup in case the network should go down. Typically it is wise to use the same series IP cameras and recorders in order to get the benefit of all the capabilities. All of our IP cameras have the ONVIF protocol which allows them to work with other manufacturers’ recorders but sometimes there will not be 100% compatibility for all the features the camera is capable of when using ONVIF. Therefore we have grouped our IP cameras and recorders together by compatibility to make it easy for you to choose. All IP cameras listed within a series are 100% compatible

Universal Cameras

We have two kinds of universal cameras. Our Universal IP and Universal HD Security Cameras. Universal IP cameras can be used with any of our NVRs and also work with any ONIVF compatible NVR. The HD Universal Cameras also work with any of our HD DVRs as well as with any HD-TVI, HD-CVI, AHD analog recorder. Not only do our Universal cameras work with all of our different series of recorders, but they will also be compatible with pretty much anything in the market today. So if you are looking to upgrade your existing system with new cameras, even if you didn’t buy the system from us, our Universal cameras are the perfect solution since they are compatible with HD-CVI, HD-TVI, AHD and analog recorders.
