I purchased a generic brand wireless IP camera with Chinese instructions, so would appreciate any help. I can see the feed from the camera on my phone & PC using the software provided, but when I add the camera IP address or URL to software such as ispy or anycam to record remotely, it does not detect a camera even when scanning IPs.
My other concern is that the camera shows as an unsecured wireless device that anyone can connect to, although to view the feed I have set a password. I'm worried this may easily be cracked if someone can connect to the device. I see no other cameras visible only secured routers which makes me think I've done something wrong. Thank you for any help here.
Security is a major concern especially if this camera is in an environment that should not be available to the public. I would check to see if this camera meets all your needs for your location. Seeing that it's, not one of our Cameras I can only guide you to the correct location for information. When using IPC's (IP Cameras) there is usually an RTSP stream and if you ware using a Cloud-Based Recording service you will need to open ports for this and ensure that you do not have the default username and password.
Two things that you need to get is the Manual and set the camera to a static IP address and the second thing is finding your router/modems manual and seeing how to port forward. We do have some articles with our products that may well assist you on this.
Best of Luck.
