How to Register and Add a DDNS to an Elite Series Recorder
First, enter your administrative credentials to gain access to the user interface. Once you are logged into the system, you will see a window with multiple tabs at the top.
Select the Setup tab and wait for the system to load configuration information. Next, select Network in the side menu on the left side of the screen.
Now, click the DDNS option underneath Network. Once inside DDNS, select the Enable box to make sure it is on.
There will be four available DDNS options inside of the first dropdown menu (Quick DDNS, Dyndns DDNS, NO-IP DDNS, and CN99 DDNS). The most popular option is Dyndns DDNS.
After Dyndns DDNS is selected, the Host IP will need to be added. If you choose to go with one of our services, we use TechPro DDNS. To add this, simply type techproddns.com in the Host IP field.
Now, enter the user name (admin) and password (admin). These are the default options.
Next, you will need to register for the host domain to get your domain name. Minimize your interface and open a new tab in your internet browser and go to techproddns.com. Now enter the New User Registration fields for DDNS account creation using valid information to login in the future. Once all the registration fields are completely filled in, select Submit.
After submitting your New User Registration form, one of our technicians will review the form. You will be notified once your account has been reviewed and approved. (Note: You will not be able to add any new domain names until the account is activated. New Accounts are usually approved within 24 hours.)
Once your account is activated, enter your login information into the fields on the screen. This is where you can create your domain name and locate your IP address. After you are done, select Request Domain.
Once the domain has been successfully created and approved, you will see a green enabled status on the next screen. Now, select and copy the full domain address (example: testerdemo.techproddns.com). Then, return to the user interface.
Next, paste the full domain address into the open field next to Domain Name inside the Setup>DDNS tab. Then, click Save. You should see ‘Successfully saved!’ appear if done correctly.
And that’s it! Now, every time there is something wrong with your network or a power outage happens or if you’ve changed your IPS and gone with another option, your DDNS will actually always point to your Elite Series Recorder. You can also add this to your mobile phone’s application to prevent a situation where your IP changes your IP address.
