This is the newest addition to our DVR lineup. Our Ultimate Mini Series DVR is similar to our Ultimate (Full Size) DVR is most respects.
It features the newest Dual Core Processor and is capable of recording realtime video (30FPS) at D1 (704x480) resolution on all channels at the same time.
This state of the art DVR has most the features of our Ultimate Mini Series DVR, only in a smaller form factor.
The major differences are that this more compact version can record audio on 4 channels, it can hold up to 2 internal SATA hard drives so you can have 6TB of storage if you're using 3TB drives on each port. It does not have loop outs (most customer won't use these), and it does not hold a DVD burner.
However, Video recordings can be downloaded through the USB to a flash drive, or through the network.
When you consider that this DVR is almost half the price of our 2U (Full Size) Ultimate Mini Series DVR, this DVR really cannot be beat when it comes to performance for value!
This unit can record up to 704 x 480 at 30fps on all channels simultaneously.
Our Ultimate Mini Series DVR features embedded Linux OS, remote monitoring from anywhere in the world, audio recording on all channels and H.264 compression. This is NOT a PC based DVR which is subject to viruses and hacking. This is a standalone unit built for only one purpose - the best quality video surveillance in the world.
The Ultimate Mini Series DVR is the state-of-the-art in digital surveillance technology. This DVR features professional grade components and is manufactured to industrial standards. Its advanced functionality makes this one of the best standalone systems on the market today.
This unit is all about versatility. With HDMI, VGA and BNC Video outputs, you can operate several different monitors simultaneously. And, with the included Matrix output, you can also run a separate monitor that can be programmed to display a completely different series of cameras!
This is the highest quality standalone DVR available anywhere in the world. The Ultimate Mini Series records real-time video at either CIF (360 x 240) or 4CIF (704 x480) resolution on every channel. That's right! This unit can record up to 704 x 480 at 30fps on all channels simultaneously. Match this capability against any other DVR on the market today and you will see why this is truly the Ultimate DVR! It is ideal for use in casinos, for license plate capture, facial detection or anywhere that high resolution images are paramount.
The Ultimate Mini Series DVR is amazingly simple to setup and operate. An intuitive mouse-driven interface provides very simple point-and-click control over all functions and settings. In addition, the unit also includes an IR remote control. Up to 16 channels can be played back at the same time at the DVR, and 4 channels can be played back via the web interface or client software.
The built-in Web server allows you to perform most every function of the DVR remotely with Internet Explorer. Client software is also included to allow you to centrally monitor multiple Ultimate Mini Series units simultaneously. Two-way audio over the network or Internet is also standard on the Ultimate Series. So, not only can you hear what is going on, you can interact. This DVR supports up to 20 simultaneous network or Internet users. With Dynamic DNS support, it is not necessary to have a static IP address on your network in order to remotely access this DVR. This saves you money, as most ISPs charge extra for a static IP address.
Having the ability to remotely view your system is great, but what if you are on the road and just can't monitor your system all the time. This is no problem with the Ultimate Mini Series DVRs highly flexible email capability. Just set up a standard POP email account and have the system email you anywhere based on any criteria you choose. Many of our customers have emails sent to their cell phone for real time alerts. You choose email triggers that you want, and the DVR does the rest.
Storage capacity will never be a problem with the Ultimate Mini Series DVR. Up to 2 SATA hard disk drives can be installed. RAID hard disk management keeps your data safe from hard drive failures, while FTP backup and recording functionality ensures your video is safe even if the DVR is destroyed.
Video can be backed up to a USB thumb drive for safe keeping or in the event that you must give the footage to the police. Video can also be saved right on your PC for easy access.
The easy 3D mouse operated PTZ control allows you to control any PTZ camera. Just click on the screen and drag your mouse around. The PTZ camera follows the mouse pointer so you can smoothly and accurately follow any objects of interest.
This system runs on a rock solid Linux embedded OS, with embedded web server, and digital signal processors to bring you the most powerful network-based digital video recorder available. This high end system will provide you with everything you need other than a monitor. If you tie the system into your network, you wont even need a monitor to view your DVR.
The Ultimate Series DVRs come with an industry leading FULL 3 YEAR WARRANTY!!
And don't forget that we provide free support for every step of your installation project.
***Please note: In most cases we will be able to remotely assist you in the configuration of your computer network for remote DVR viewing. However, we cannot be responsible for complex network configuration or the performance of your internet connection.***

16 Channel Ultimate Mini Series D1 Realtime Security DVR
Review by Tandridge, Bill (New York USA) on Apr 09, 2013
I ordered this package on line and received it in 2 days. Everything was in tact and in perfect condition. The DVR was in great shape and in with the DVR included a USB mouse and an infrared remote control. I also ordered a couple of extra cameras to go with my old ones. My older cameras do not have an on screen display menu with adjustable light setting features and such, but my camera application is pretty basic and the automatic settings on the cameras do just fine. As for this DVR, this machine is really a computer that records video. I mean it really does so much more than just strictly record video. It's loaded with all kinds of features, even for a "mini." This mini Ultimate gives me the D1 simultaneous recording resolution I want at 30 fps for all channels while saving me a few hundred bucks by not having the size and all the features of the full size Ultimate unit. For me, the only real "down" size to using the mini unit is that there is less space for additional internal hard disk drive storage. With 16 cameras all recording at D1 resolution, which is something to think about, especially if you want high quality recording for the cameras and record continuously. If you are doing a new you may want to consider purchasing a portable monitor because it can save you a lot of running back and forth to the DVR/monitor and running up and down a ladder. If you are looking for a big display recording without the full size DVR unit price, this is exactly what will do the job!

I have owned this Security Camera King DVR and cameras for about a year now. I use it at my retail store both inside (to document shoplifting attempts and robberies if they should occur) and outside (to document for protection and vandalism). I recently had my first attempt at someone trying to break in to my store at about 3:00 in the morning. My outside cameras are set for motion detection at night and I have the DVR set up to notify me with an e-mail if a camera detects motion. As it happened I wasn't sleeping well that night and when the e-mail message came to my Android, it played the tone that I had a message. I couldn't figure out who would be sending me a message at 3 in the morning so I checked it out. I immediately went to my app and started viewing my cameras. There they were two males just as plain as day, apparently unaware of the camera system (they couldn't have turned to the camera and smiled for a better identification). I immediately called the police. By the time they (and I) had arrived the two were gone (the alarm system I also have set up with my DVR must have scared them). The police returned later that day to some follow up work and I had copied the footage from my DVR to my PC using a USB thumb drive and burned a DVD for them. When I played it the police new immediately who the two were. They also made the remark that they wished all the security camera systems they've seen were that clear and detailed. To end the story, the two were caught and prosecuted. I hope they sent a message to other people on the streets not to mess with my store!
This Security Camera King DVR is obviously a high quality product and definitely worth the price it's listed for. I credit it with preventing the follow through of the break in that night and assisting in the capture and prosecution of the perpetrators. I wouldn't recommend any other brand, especially now. Security Camera King has me as a customer for life.

Why bother to complete a review on a product that has so many good ratings? Because I believe that when you do encounter an exceptional product it should get the rave reviews that it deserves and in quantity. It not only does justice to the product but it helps potential buyers see the number of satisfied users that wrote reviews as well. I've seen many CCTV systems in my time and I must tell you that this DVR ranks among the best, if not THE best, for display quality and features for any other DVR in this price range. First, this DVR comes with a 3 year full warranty. Most vendors give a maximum of 1 year and some will allow 2 or 3 years but they must be purchased extra as "extended" warranties. This "Mini" series still comes with the ability to use up to 16 alarm triggers in a 12 VDC relay switching system that can activate cameras and/or up to 6 different external 12 VDC alarm devises. You may not get 16 channels of audio with the Ultimate Mini but you can have up to 4 channels of recorded audio and one bidirectional talk. I think that's impressive for a unit of this kind. And speaking of impressive, even though it is a "Mini" it can still propel 3 simultaneous full time display monitors using HDMI, VGA, and BNC and still have room for things like video matrix output. If you are not familiar with the OSD or GUI interface it isn't hard to learn if you know how to read the manual. Even if you aren't a manual reader with a little practice the screens are pretty intuitive so you can probably figure them out on your own in time. If not, you can always rely on Security Camera King's support department (I did). These guys are great. They know there products, they know how to run them, and they can tell you what to do to make sure you get the most out of yours. This is an excellent DVR and the price is incomparable, trust me on that!

Your DVR is great but I especially want to thank you for the exercise, Security Camera King! I recently installed my own custom 16 camera security camera surveillance system in my store that included the Security Camera King 16 Channel Ultimate Mini Series D1 Realtime Security DVR. As the reviewer before me said, the recorded video is truly flawless. Actually, it's better than that, it is high quality color sharp recording and monitoring display as well. If you are considering purchasing this DVR I really can't see where you'll be disappointed, especially with a 3 year full warranty. This DVR doesn't have a lot of extras on it like a DVD burner or loop outs for every channel (although it does have one and I do use that) so by eliminating some of these features that may not be necessary, I guess Security Camera King has been able to offer this "Mini" unit cheaper. The DVR works absolutely great and produces a high resolution (D1) recorded video at a rate of 30 frames per second. It does have several other features, but I won't list them all here. If you are interested you can check out the description and specification of the DVR here at this page and you can even download the manual in advance to get an idea of exactly how it works. I'm not a professional installer by any means (although based on the estimates I received from some of the local companies that operate here, perhaps I should be), so I didn't exactly know what to expect. It took me about a week to leisurely install and setup my system when I had the time. I never realized that I would need to climb up and down a ladder so many times to mount, position, and aim and adjust the cameras. Thanks for the exercise Security Camera King! :)

I am a certified video forensic technician for a Chicago suburban police department who started my own cctv company after seeing so many cases where the video equipment was so terrible, there was nothing I could do to enhance the video. I started recommending higher resolution cameras, that is only half the problem. This line of DVR,s could literally eliminate the need for the video forensic technician! I set these up to record 30 fps on all, channels and use good cameras, the recorded video is FLAWLESS! I have been looking for a reasonably priced recorder that does what this does for a year! I have ben a police officer for 25 years, trust me, if you are looking for a great recorder, you just found it!
Excellent Quality But Lacks the Storage Room for Full Time Recording

This is a pretty good performing DVR however, I found out that after I purchased it, since we preferred to record continuously for extended periods of time without a rewrite of the internal storage media, it really doesn't have the storage needs we require for the display resolution and recording settings. Also, it doesn't have the capability to expand with eSATA external drives as well. I accept that I should have done a little better research before purchasing the product, but I was working on a budget and went with what I thought we could afford too. Besides that one factor, the DVR is excellent. It records at a fantastic resolution of D1 and at a real-time recording rate of 30 frames per second. It does provide you with multiple display options and can easily handle outputting three main displays at once, one each using HDMI, VGA, and BNC type outputs. We have found a bit of a workaround to our storage problem by dropping the recording resolution down to CIF instead of D1 but that kind of defeats the purpose of purchasing this particular model (in other words we could have gotten away with the cheaper Elite model if we were willing to settle for CIF resolution). At any rate, the Internet capabilities of this machine are amazing. You can actually monitor and control this DVR from a personal computer or monitor it on your smartphone from just about anywhere in the world you have Internet access. That's especially great for me because I travel a lot and like to "look in" on things while I am gone. All around its not a bad purchase for the price and I will give it four stars.

If your looking for a DVR that can record in a higher resolution than CIF but you don't want to pay a lot of money for it, this is a viable solution! I purchased the 16 Channel Ultimate Mini Series for my store. I needed more than 8 channels but I also wanted something that could give me a better recording resolution than CIF, however my budget couldn't afford a thousand dollar DVR plus all the cameras and accessories so the "Mini" is a great alternative. I have to admit that the DVR actually comes with more features than I anticipated for the price (once you start reading the manual and working with the On Screen Display menu you'll see what I mean). The DVR does a great job of recording color video and it displays it in 1080p resolution on my LCD monitor. Once the DVR arrived and I installed it, I even decided to take advantage of the alarm options that come with it. What's really great is that in addition to all the features I can access the DVR and cameras anytime I want on my home computer, work computer, and my smartphone. This is a good product and Security Camera King even offers a full 3 year warranty on the unit!
We have a security department within our company and I must say the guards are very astute and are often kept on there feet a lot. We have several entrances and exits within our building and surrounding area that require full time monitoring. Many years ago, this was accomplished by posting full time security employees at each entrance/exit. Over the years our company, like most, has had to find ways to cut expenses to maintain a positive capital flow. One of the ways we were able to do this was by using the Security Camera King 16 Channel Ultimate Mini Series D1 Realtime Security DVR. WE have moved many of these guards to other positions within the company or they have left security via retirement attrition and so we have significantly reduced the employee numbers at those areas by using one employee to monitor them with the 16 channel Ultimate Mini system. With it's full resolution display of 1920 X 1080 pixels our guard are able to satisfactorily monitor these locations in realtime and should there be any situation that would require closer attention we refer to the D1 video recording for that particular camera. WE use all four audio channels and we also use the one channel bidirectional audio feature. One of the handy features of the DVR is that if the guard is monitoring the unit has to leave the area for anything, he/she can easily continue picking up displays of the cameras using their smartphones. It's almost like having a portable security camera system display. We have also found the HDMI video option very useful for combining our video display with audio monitoring. Using the DVR is not difficult and it takes a new guard to learn the system in a very short period of time. If you need a dependable DVR that can record all 16 channels in D1 at 30 frames per second, but don't need a tremendous amount of internal hard drive storage or a DVD burner, I would highly recommend the Ultimate Mini DVR.

I have my own business and I install alarm systems, security camera systems, industrial electronic alerts systems, etc. Although my business is not limited to security camera installation I have installed several over the years and have been around long enough to watch them evolve from the old black and white video tape recorders to the IP megapixel systems available today. This particular unit has been very popular among my customers and I think that is because of the features it offers combined with the economic price. Here's a list of some of the features that I think my customers like about this unit the most:
-Realtime D1 recording on all 16 channels simultaneously (you just can't beat that)
-Alarm options
-Ability to support several monitors and output types including HDMI, VGA, and BNC
-Network board or 3D mouse PTZ camera control
-Easy to navigate on screen display menus that are used for set up and operation of the DVR and cameras (if they come equipped with it)
-16 channel simultaneous playback (while the unit is still recording)
-Internet connectability. My customers love the remote access feature where in addition to using the included USB mouse or remote control to operate the DVR they can also use a computer, iPad, or smartphone if they have Internet access.
This is just a good all around 16 channel DVR that offers a good quality performance and a 3 year full warranty.

I purchased the Security Camera King DVR-LT16480MHD DVR about a year ago and have been loving it ever since. I didn't want to write a review until I had a chance to see how it performs over the long haul and I have to say it works great! I've been using this unit in my store and running it at 704 X 480 resolution for all 16 channels at 30 frames per second. The only negative thing about this with this mini version DVR is that recording that many channels at that rate uses about 3.5 TB of storage space a day (I record 24 hours), so I would recommend that if you are considering this DVR and recording at a high quality rate with all cameras constantly that you max out your storage potential. Other than that, I can live with the absence of loop outs and a DVD burner as compared to the full Ultimate version. I haven't had any problems with the unit since I put it in use. The only time I've done any reboots have been during power outages.
