We first ordered this camera back in August of 2012 when Security Camera King had first listed it in their on line catalog. The camera was relatively easy to install (as far as network cameras go) and we have used it everyday since that time as an adjunct to the rest of our IP network megapixel camera system. There are only two "not exactly perfect" characteristics of this camera that we have discovered and even those aren't all that bad. I'll begin with them first, then talk about the positive features. This PTZ does not accept PoE or Power over the Ethernet, primarily I guess because it requires a 24 VAC power supply. However, that's no much of an issue because the camera comes with its own 24 VAC power supply transformer anyway. The second thing is that the camera works fine at night time but we have plenty of ambient artificial lighting. For the area that we cover. I can't speak to how well it works in total darkness but I have noticed it is rated at 1.8 Lux in color and 0.02 Lux in black and white. The color low light sensitivity isn't exactly the best, but like I said, with ambient artificial lighting, we have absolutely no problems. On the positive side, you can't find too many other PTZ cameras that can beat the quality of the color (or black and white) recording that this camera produces. The detail is actually shocking when you see if for the first time, especially if you are used to analog security cameras. The camera is pretty solid and rugged (it weighs about 11 pounds) and it includes a mini safety cable from the camera body case tot the mount to keep it from accidentally falling while servicing it at heights, which is a nice touch. The other characteristic that is outstanding about this camera is that if you currently have a DVR but are planning to switch to an NVR system in the future, this camera can work on both types of systems. It comes with BNC connectors for DVRs and an RJ45 connector for use with your network. A big camera like this one, at least the outdoor type with a built in heater and blower requires a 24 VAC power supply but that doesn't mean you can't use it on a 12 V system because I said before it comes with its own power supply. So far, this camera has made it through the end of summer, Fall, Winter, and most of Spring being used everyday and without any issues. Nice camera.

This is a great camera! Had no problems with mounting and connecting the camera but I did need a little help with the set up. The camera produces a 1080p resolution video picture at a frame rate of 30 frames per second. Between this super high resolution and the optical 20X zoom lens the only way you couldn't identify an individual's face is if they had a mask on! We can easily scan our parking lot and based on the way the way we have the camera mounted we can easily zoom in on vehicle license plates to capture them as well. Even the secondary stream that is sent to the monitor albeit at "only" D1 resolution is still a better quality D1 video then I have seen out of most analog cameras. The camera has a lot of features and even has an analog BNC video output so you can actually monitor the camera with an analog DVR while recording maximum resolution and frame rate to an optional on board SD card. The camera has an On Screen Display menu that you can almost get lost in though, if you aren't careful. However, Security Camera King's technical support department walked me through the setup procedure and they were great too! I'd recommend this camera, and after the service I got from Security Camera King I would recommend them too!

The quality and the equipment is a 5 the customer service is beyond that. Picture will knock your socks off. The controls are nice once you figure them out. They need to work on the instruction manual to make it less vague. But Daniel in tech customer service is the key to getting through that little problem of understanding. So they do have a solution, you just have to ask for help. And the hybrid DVR/NVR we got is very nice too.

I had my doubts about an IP Network PTZ but this one works great. Great detailed video, quick response times, nice recordings. This is a quality camera with a decent 20X power zoom.

This is one amazing camera. A 20X PTZ camera can really pick up some fine detail but when you combine that with a 1080p (2 megapixel) resolution the only way to describe the video is "amazing," especially so, considering the fact that the camera actually records at 1080p at a real time rate of 30 frames per second. If you don't mind having the pixels played with a bit, you can increase the zoom by adding the factor for the digital zoom at an additional 16X. To be fair, the picture is truly amazing however the sensitivity of the CMOS could use a little work. It's not bad but it is rated at a minimum illumination lever of 1.8 LUX in color and 0.02 LUX in black and white. Yes this still beats an infrared camera that only has an LED range of 100 feet! I also like the "programmable" tours function. Most PTZ cameras have this function where you can set up a specific tour, but this one exceeds those characteristics by allowing you to have the flexibility to control the tours with time settings. This means the camera can execute different tours at different times of the day, ultimately eliminating even more "fixed" position cameras. The camera also comes with Security Camera King's 3D positioning function that allows ease in movement and positioning of the camera with a mouse. It's great for outdoor use (we have it mounted in the middle of our parking area) and it comes with a built in heater/blower and 4000V surge and lightning protector.

If you have a network security camera system and you want an excellent PTZ true day/night camera, this is the one you want. On the other hand, if you don't have a network system but want an excellent PTZ true day/night camera, this is the one you want and you'll want to get an NVR system to go with it. Or, if you want an excellent PTZ true day/night camera this is the one you want and you don't have to have an NVR to use it. In fact, it has its own web server and can handle up to 20 simultaneous network users. And not to be misleading, it also has its own BNC output too. On the physical side this camera has a 20X optical zoom which is really quite powerful and that is backed up by a 16X digital zoom. It's minimum illumination ratings are fair, and that is probably the only place where it could really use a little improvement. Although it has a pretty low light sensitive rating in black and white of 0.02 LUX the minimum rating for color is significantly higher at 1.8 LUX. We use our camera outdoors in a relatively "shifty" climate that includes temperatures above 90 during the summer and temperatures as low as 0 during the winter and it seems to handle the extremes pretty well. It has it's own built in heater/blower for the winter and comes with 4000V lightning surge protection for those summer storms. Also, if you can make use of a wall mount (which I'm sure most users can) you are in luck because the camera comes with its own wall mount (one less "extra" charge). On the technical side, this camera can record at several resolutions in real time (30 frames per second) the highest being 2 megapixels or 1080p. The camera also sends out two separate streams of encoded video, one at the high resolution rate for the NVR or other device recording and another at D1 at 30 frames per second for monitoring. It also has the capability for alarms and audio input and output. The camera, even though rather large in size, is basically a speed dome with a preset speed of 400 degrees per second horizontal and 300 degrees per second vertical. It has all the typical PTZ functions including privacy masking and so on. In addition, you can actually "program" this camera to do specific tours at specific times throughout the day so you don't just have a camera spinning around in circles. It is a very good camera and I know we are very satisfied with its performance here.

This camera is amazing! I work for a government agency and we recently had this camera installed and added to our network video system and it works really well. The 20X zoom works great; in many cases it's like having a set of binoculars. The video recording is just perfect with the colors right on ad the details extremely fine. We record at 1080p at 30 frames per second while our sub stream or monitoring stream is at D1 resolution at 30 frames per second. The camera is loaded with features, half of them I must admit we don't even use or we set them on automatic and leave them there because they work so well. There's only two tings that I'm not real crazy about on this camera. One is the fact that it requires 24 VAC so we can't use our switch for Power Over the Ethernet, but then again, I suppose most PTZ cameras can't do that either because of the voltage demands of the system. The other, which is a little more important, is the light sensitivity. I hate to be picky but I was hoping the camera would do a little better in low light conditions. It has a rating of 1.8 LUX in color (which, compared to many low light sensitive day/night cameras isn't very good) and a better 0.02 LUX in black and white. By no means is it a poor quality camera, I would just like to see those two areas improved. By comparison, you can tweak a longer low light zoom distance out of this camera than most camera's with IR LEDs because you can see beyond that if there is enough light in the distance.

If I were you and I were considering the purchase of this camera, I would take a look at all the ratings on the reviews and find any poor ones (if there are any) and read them first. I say that because if you are going to spend this kind of money on a camera, you expect that it is going to be top notch and by the way, this one is. I mean, you combine a 20X optical zoom with a 2 megapixel resolution video recording and there is little, and I mean very little, detail that you will miss. This camera, like most megapixel network cameras, shoots two streams out to the network, one at the designated resolution that you have chosen to record at and another at a lower resolution stream for monitoring to conserve bandwidth usage. Even the sub stream looks great to me! The camera has an infrared cut filter so it is a true day/night camera that can record in color at a minimum of 1.8 LUX and in black and white at 0.02 LUX. The fact of the matter is, these newer IP cameras were really mini DVRs and cameras in one. This camera can record to an NVR, a hybrid DVR, a personal computer, or to itself using a 32 gigabyte maximum SD card. It even has a BNC connection for analog output. When it is used as a network camera, it can handle up to 20 simultaneous network users! It's got audio modes, alarm inputs and outputs, and all the extra goodies that usually come with a high quality IP megapixel camera. I really don't know how anyone could be dissatisfied with it, it is truly a high quality camera.

This camera has some powerful versatility. A PTZ camera, whether it is analog or digital gives the user a lot of flexibility but when you combine that with IP megapixel technology you get truly powerful versatility. This camera even comes with its own well mount and 24 V power supply, not to mention a metal safety cable that connects the camera to the threaded mount collar to prevent dropping it when installing or changing set up configurations. Although the camera has an ICR infrared cut filter for true day/night recording our camera can also pick up other infrared LED illuminations from our fixed cameras, especially when zooming, to enhance or extend its viewing range. The camera produces an excellent quality video picture by the way with the capability to record at a maximum of 1080p at up to 30 frames per second. In addition, it also submits a dual stream for monitoring of D1 resolution at up to 30 frames per second. The camera also has hook ups for audio input, audio output, and RS485 PTZ remote control connections and alarm functions. We've had no problems with the PTZ's mechanical functions as it responds to control movements quickly and smoothly. IT works great in cold weather climates (like ours) probably due to the fact that it has its own built in heater and blower.

We've gone totally IP megapixel (digital) with our security camera system here at work and I love it. I think it is a lot easier to manage one Ethernet cable per camera than one line for the video, one line for the power, and one line for the RS485 connection. (I should mention though so as not to mislead, this PTZ is 24 VAC and does not have POE capability.) But it can capture video at 1080p at 30 frames per second and that is incredibly impressive (if you don't believe it, all you need to do is see it). But in addition to the great 20X optical zoom and incredible ultra high resolution video, I really enjoy being able to control the PTZ functions over the network. Now that may sound odd in a way, but we have always had a security system here for the past 25 years that I have worked here and it always included at least one PTZ and one PTZ joystick controller pad that always confined us to the area of the DVR and Monitor. Now I can check in on this camera from any computer in our office as long as the computer has the software installed or even at least a browser. And the Security Camera King 3D intelligent mouse positioning is convenient and easy to use too. Just click your mouse on the screen where you want the camera to go and it goes there. Want to zoom in? Just click and drag with the mouse to create a rectangle and the camera adjusts accordingly. Of course the camera also has an On Screen Display system that contains lots of additional features. You can record with this camera to an NVR, personal computer, or a hybrid DVR/NVR too. Dual stream too so you can send the high resolution stream to the recorder and lighten up the bandwidth use a little by using a lesser resolution to monitor. You won't be disappointed with this camera, it's a gem!
