No problems, Great 4 Channel D1 DVR!
Review by Terri Chaney on Sep 27, 2014
I was very surprised when I received my DVR-LT4120HD within three days of placing the order. I call that a fast response, considering the fact that it had to be shipped. As far as I am concerned the quality of this DVR is far beyond that you'll find in most wholesale or retail department stores. Besides the fact that this recorder records at a resolution of D1 at 30 frames per second for each channel (simultaneously) I'd say one of it's best attributes is that it can be set up and operated easily. The OSD (On Screen Display) menu is obviously a big help for that. As a mini DVR I think it works great and I have had this one for about 6 months now. It has lots of features for a mini. Security Camera King tech support was quick to answer my questions (thoroughly and to my satisfaction) as well.

Bad NIC on 2 of 6 Mini D1 DVR

Of the 6 Mini Series D1 DVR systems we ordered, we have had issues with 2 of the NIC adapters. One worked for a short time (less then a month) and the second unit never worked at all. Not very good odds if you ask me, enough to make me hesitate about ordering any more of these. Which is very disappointing since the units are very easy to setup and use.

I purchased this DVR for use in my home. I ordered it on line and got it 4 days later. I purchased it to replace an older, cheaper quality model that basically exhausted itself. When I realized how extremely different (in a positive direction) this recorder is compared to my old one that "tanked out" I couldn't resist but purchase 4 new 800TVL cameras as well. Sweet! I like the way this DVR's OSD "handles" and the way the efficiency in general of the recorder. I purchased two internal hard disk drives and I record based on motion detection and I have more than enough recording space to save footage one. The remote access function is great. I believe Security Camera King must be putting pressure on some of the other web dealers with their free offering of remote access software and apps because I have been watching some other sites and have noticed that at one time they would charge a yearly "licensing" fee for this and now they don't. I have no need to look at other sites in the future. Based on the quality of the products and customer service, I'll stay with Security Camera King.

Great DVR for a Mini Series!

Boy, for what Security Camera King calls a "Mini" DVR, it sure packs a big punch. First and foremost, what probably most everyone looking to purchase one of these recorders is concerned with is the video recording quality. I can say that if your unit works like mine (and I'm sure it will) you'll have nothing to worry about. The quality of the video recording is very good at a decent D1 size resolution and at 30 frames per second. The picture is very clear, not blurred, and the color is almost exact in matching the real color.

When you consider the features that this DVR has to offer it's really quite incredible. There are so many that they are far too numerous for me to even attempt to mention here. I can tell you what I use though. I do record audio including bi-directional audio. The recorder records the audio in synch with the video just fine and the audio is the same quality as the video, very good. Motion detection requires a little tweaking with the DVR but once you've got it set right, it works very well and it saves tons of internal hard disk drive space. Along with that, I connected the DVR to my router and I use the remote access function as well as the email alert notification system. I get an email sent to my smartphone and I immediately access the system to see what is going on. Very cool. I also feel more confident about the recorder since it comes with a 3 year warranty.

Nice DVR. It works well, has a 3 year warranty, and it is loaded with features. The price may be a little higher than others but I think that you won't find the same quality let alone the number and type of options or features that you will on Security Camera King's model. So far, so good.

4 Channel Ultimate Mini Series D1 Realtime Security DVR--A Maybe for Me

Don't be misled by my title or my review, I definitely like and endorse Security Camera King products. I actually don't own this one, but I do own the Ultimate 8 Channel Mini and that's why I thought I would write this here. I'm sure this 4 channel DVR is just as good as the Ultimate 8 channel, but that's the point of me writing this. If you only need the 4 channel and you are sure you will never want to add any additional cameras, then this would probably be great. On the other hand, those considering a purchase should note that you can get the 8 Channel Ultimate Mini DVR for only $65 more which I think is a tremendous deal (versus 2 of these).

I like this DVR. Everything is right about it. It produces excellent quality D1 resolution video at realtime recording rates, the audio recording is also clear and accurate and it is relatively easy to use and set up. Remote Internet access works fine too and I am impressed with the fact that Security Camera King makes their remote access management software and applications free to download and use. This has got to blow some of their competitors away. Good recorder, very deserving of five full stars.

This is quite an amazing DVR for such a small size and decent price. My 4 channels of D1 video recordings at 30 frames per second are crystal clear and very smooth in flow. What truly impresses my with this unit is the amount of features it has. Even though it is only a 4 channel unit, it can still provide main monitor output to 3 different monitors simultaneously. Also, I due use the audio inputs with powered microphones, so my main monitor is the HDMI connected monitor so I can also hear the sound through my LCD monitor. There even is an additional audio output and two way audio available. Although the DVR is too small to handle an internal DVD burner you can still copy footage to USB Flash drives or even to external USB DVD/CD burners. I generally use the motion activated recording feature and it works very well. Finally, the remote access feature is great and I am very happy that Security Camera King makes the apps and software downloads and use absolutely free. The only down side to this unit is that the manual could be a little bit better. I know this is the 21st century and just about all of us have computers but the manual is on the CD ROM included with the DVR and you have to have a computer to read it. However, I also have to admit that Security Camera King has a support department that can easily make up for the manual situation, so I'll give this five stars.

I mean that lilterally. I searched high and low for a decent video security system and there are so many different vendors and types to choose from. I ended up purchasing one at a local Sam's club, it was a 4 channel D1 DVR just like this one.....yeah, right. I had problems with the cameras, I had problems with the DVR, about the only thing that was have way decent were the cables. You can find DVR's advertised as 4 channel D1 real time DVRs for much less in price, but trust me when I say that this one is top of the line in quality. It's a shrunken down version of the full version Ultimate DVR but it still records all 4 channels in D1, 4 channels of reodable audio and two way audio, and has many useful features. The video recordings are excellent quality and the DVR performance is excellent. For me, the three video monitor outputs is a little bit of overkill but I can see here they could be needed in other applications. The remote access function works great and I can use my iPhone just about anywhere to access my system. I also have the program on my computer and work so I can "peek in" on it whenever I like. This is an excellent four channel DVR and I would definitely recommend it.

I would have given it 5 stars if a well written paper Instruction manual were included. I dislike owners manuals on a disk. I have experiance with this type equipment, so I was easily able to set it up. I replaced an old unit with the "Ultimate", recorded video is far superior to the old unit which recorded in motion jpeg file format. If you choose this unit go with more hard drive space than you think you need, I went with 1 TB. My favorite feature is smart search, it saves lots of time when looking for a particular event in a video.
