Our PTZ-LX700L12X is our entry level version of our 10X and 12X PTZs, but don't let the low price fool you. You can count on this PTZ to provide high quality video and reliable Pan Tilt Zoom control. It uses the newest technology available and this camera really delivers where it counts. Unlike most other PTZ cameras, this security camera includes an indoor/outdoor wall mount. This will save you a lot of money in accessories that you normally have to buy separately. This 12X PTZ features a Sony module with a Sony Super HAD CCD, 5-60mm automatic Zoom Lens and an ICR day/night filter. This PTZ security camera is exceptionally small so it wont stand out like a standard PTZ camera. With the built in 12X Optical Zoom you will be able to zoom in to objects far away and they will appear up to 12 times closer than they really are. This PTZ security camera is weatherproof when mounted using the outdoor wall mount and is a very high resolution PTZ providing excellent detail from a distance. Additionally, this PTZ can be programmed to scan or follow preset patterns from the DVR using presets. This PTZ security camera is recommended for inside office spaces, or small parking lots and it can take the place of several security cameras.
This outdoor PTZ has a metal housing and is vandal resistant.

700 TVL 12X Indoor/Outdoor Pan Tilt Zoom Security Camera with Metal Housing
Review by Nick Sanfilippo on Apr 21, 2013
This is a good PTZ camera with a good quality video picture. I bought this camera about 6 months ago and when I came back to Security Camera King to order some additional cameras I stopped by the PTZ page and decided to write this review. This model is good and sturdy with a metal housing for protection. However, we don't have to have a metal housing. That being said, if I were to buy this camera again, I wouldn't have any problem purchasing its "baby brother" the PTZ-LX700L12X-E that has a plastic housing instead of metal and is $50 cheaper. If they are both the same electronic parts but just different housing, then I'll go so far as to say they both must be good, because I am satisfied with this one.

Good camera and an excellent price. This PTZ has a metal housing and tough cover which makes it a vandal resistant type kind of PTZ camera. The PTZ functions all work well and the picture is pretty detailed, clear, and colorful. The camera is fairly easy to install and is operated remotely from the DVR end using an RS485 connection. I recommend this camera as an inexpensive vandal resistant PTZ camera any day.

I think this Security Camera King Camera is great, but before I get into the particulars on it let me say that I think when you consider purchasing this Pan Tilt Zoom camera you need to keep things in perspective. What I mean by that is that most high quality full feature POTZ cameras usually price out beginning at the $600 to $700 dollar range so the get one for less than $300 dollars I'm not sure it is fair to compare it to those cameras but rather to just its own specifications. Next, the camera works great for us., especially for the price. The 12X zoom is an optical zoom and not a digital zoom so it is very clear and accurate. The zoom lens is actually a 5 - 60 mm automatic zoom lens with an Infrared Cut day night filter. The electronic viscera behind the camera is the Sony Super Had CCD. This PTZ even comes with its own wall outdoor wall mount included with the price of the camera. It has an On Screen Display (OSD) menu system that allows you to make adjustments to things like shutter speeds, white balance, back light compensation, wide dynamic range (Sony calls it ATR--Automatic Tone Reproduction I think), motion detection, and privacy setting. More importantly perhaps for a PTZ camera is that it can be programmed from the DVR to scan or follow preset patterns. Since it is a true day/night camera the camera is pretty low light sensitive too, It has a minimum illumination rating of 0.001 LUX so you won't miss much at night, especially outdoors. I can honestly say that this camera does an excellent job for a PTZ camera in this price range, and I would recommend it to others.

Good, solid camera that doesn't fail. Excellent picture quality, rapid response and good zooming. Let's be real here, you usually don't start finding decent PTZ cameras unless they are at least $600 or $700 dollars. And half the time they don't include a wall mount, you usually have to pay an additional $60 to $100 for that. When I first ordered this I read most of the reviews and thought these people were nuts. Like I said, a good quality PTZ including the mount for less than $300? I wanted to buy it, but I was skeptical. I called Security Camera King three separate times to ask questions about it (I think their staff knows me personally now). By the way, they were very helpful, extremely patient, and more than willing to answer my questions. Well I finally bit, and ordered the camera. It only took it a couple of days to arrive once I placed the order. I know it has a Super Sony HAD CCD which is a good thing, but that alone doesn't justify an expensive camera (not that this one is) or that the quality of the PTZ will be good. I opened up the package and everything was in perfect order. But then I took a look at the product manual. Two pages, front and back. The first page had a picture of the camera and the remaining "manual" had the specs, the packing list, and a simple picture of how to connect the camera (Insert video plug, insert 12 VDC plug with a chart of the OSD. The rest was filled with "Trouble Solution." I knew for sure I was had. Anyway, I installed the camera worked through the OSD and turned it on. I couldn't believe how good it worked! I still can't believe how good it works! The 650 TVL resolution (color) and 700 TVL resolution (balck and white) makes a great quality recording. The RS485 connection works perfectly and I have complete control of the camera from my Security Camera King DVR. The bottom line is: It is a good PTZ camera, in fact I think its great and I would recommend it to anyone!

Let's face it, PTZs don't come cheap and usually if you do find one that does, the camera's quality is cheap too. Not so with this PTZ by Security Camera King. The 700 TVL resolution makes for a great highly detailed video and when you couple the zoom function with that, it can really pick out some small or far away objects. There's really not much assembly to it, especially if you use the included wall mount. The mount is secured to the wall mount base board by four set screws, the base board has holes for mounting it to the mounting surface (screws). The camera is set to the mount arm and the pigtail is fed through the mount. The PTZ functions all work well without any hang-ups or hassles. The camera has an adapter that can be used with a ceiling mount (purchased separately) if you want to go that route. The camera product manual isn't that great but thankfully Security Camera King's support department is so if you have any issues installing the camera, give them a call or send them a message. I did and my experience with their support department was super! In addition to the high resolution, the camera has a bunch of features that you can fiddle with on the OSD to make your video capture the best quality possible.
700 TVL 12X Indoor/Outdoor Pan Tilt Zoom Security Camera -- Good Starter!

You've got to like the 700 TVL color resolution of this camera; it makes for an excellent quality picture with sharp graphics and good color. The Pan, Tilt, and Zoom functions are fairly quick and responsive. The zoom lens has an automatic focus and iris which makes zooming in on areas very easy. The 12X power of the zoom lens doesn't sound like very much but I was surprised at the quality of the optical zoom and how well it did bring longer distant objects "closer." Along with the PTZ functions the camera also has an On Screen Display menu system that will give you access to features. It may take some time adapting to the OSD because it is pretty extensive due to the features it controls. Some of those features include pattern setting, alarm setting, privacy setting, tour setting, and auto scan setting to name a few. Proper placement of this camera is key to optimization of its utilization. When mounted in the proper location, this PTZ can take the place of using several non-PTZ cameras to do the same job. The price for this camera isn't what I would call inexpensive but it's not too high either so I think I would say it has a "modest" price.

This is a really good camera for it's class. I like to refer to it as a "good basic PTZ" camera. As you can tell by the price, this camera does don fit into the thousand dollar threshold of Pan Tilt and Zoom cameras, so it certainly isn't "upper end." However, I wouldn't really call it an "economy" model either because that implies to me that it is so cheap that it might be missing something, and this one isn't. So that's why I call it a good basic PTZ. It does produce a high quality video recording with a 700 TVL resolution and the 5 - 60 MM lens gives you a good range of 12X optical zoom. Since it's a basic "zoomer," there are no infrared LEDs. The camera has an ICR day/night filter and does pretty well in low light conditions. It's got basic PTZ programmable functions like scanning and following and preset patterns and it even comes with its own indoor/outdoor wall mount (and four screws that affix it to the wall). It includes a pair of wires on the cable pigtail to connect the PTZ to your DVRs RS485 port for remote control from the DVR. The camera also has an On Screen Display (OSD) menu to adjust many electronic features that will enhance your video recording even further. Like I said, it's a really good basic PTZ camera for its class and I will give it five stars.

Our company has an existing security camera system; in fact it is a Security Camera King DVR. However, we have decided that based on local current events we would also like to be able to monitor our employee parking area. Although we are not a huge corporation, a conventional 3.6 mm lens camera really won't do the job as we would like to be able to change views and monitor our entrances as well. For a price tag far less than $300 we are very impressed with this camera's performance. Between the 12X optical zoom and the 650 TVL color resolution (it gets 700 TVL resolution when it's recording in black and white) there are very few details we can't see. It works very well during the day and at night in our fairly lit parking lot. We usually use our mousing functions with the DVR to control the PTZ but it also has a variety of programmable touring and preset modes. Since it comes with an indoor/outdoor mount it also saves you money for that expense. This is probably one of the "lower end" PTZ cameras (in zoom power, functions, and price) but it records a really impressive video picture. I'm estimating that this camera is probably saving us the cost of 3 additional fixed 3.6 mm lens cameras and we can get closer, better detailed shots.

If you are reading my review because you may be interested in purchasing this camera, the best way I can tell you how much I like it is this. I dare you to find a PTZ camera in this price range that produces a 700TVL resolution picture and performs with as high a quality as this one. Obviously this is not some $2000 PTZ, it is a basic economically priced PTZ dome. However when you combine the 12X zoom with the 700 TVL resolution you can really pick out some details. The camera can be set to automatically scan or follow preset touring patterns based on your input from the DVR. Good camera, good price, I'd recommend it.

It's amazing to find a PTZ camera that produces a 650 TVL (it actually does 700 TVL when it is in black and white mode) resolution video with such a low price. Most cameras like this would start at about $500! The 12 X Zoom works very well as does the automatic focus feature when moving the zoom lens about. The camera is easy to mount with the included wall mount (just 4 screws is all it takes). The power, BNC, and a pair of wires for the RS485 connection to control the PTZ functions from your DVR are all included on the camera's pigtail. The recording quality of this camera is pretty good and shows a decent amount of detail. This becomes even more apparent when using the Zoom function to bring objects closer. The camera has the ability to be programmed to follow preset scan patterns which can be set and initiated at the DVR. Once a gain, for the low cost, this is an excellent PTZ camera!
