This is an outstanding infrared bullet camera. It uses the newest technology on the market combining the Sony's newest EXView HAD II CCD (960H) with their Enhanced Effio-E DSP providing the best color reproduction in the industry. The Enhanced Effio-E DSP DSP uses ATR technology (Automatic Tone Reproduction) which reproduces color better than any other DSP we have seen. There is a 2.8-12 Varifocal lens and can see in complete darkness up to 100'ft with the built in infrared LED illuminators. There is an OSD that can be used to configure many settings in the camera like BLC, Shutter Speed, ATR and much more.

When you purchase this camera you are paying for quality results and I must admit it really does deliver! The 2.8 to 12 mm Varifocal lens allows for moderate adjustments to the filed of view especially for places like doorways and such. However, I think one of the biggest benefits of this camera is the Sony ExView HAD II CCD (960H) with the Effio digital signal processor. The camera delivers a good, high resolution, color accurate video image and I have no complaints with the infrared mode as well. The infrared LED illuminators are strong enough to give you about a 100 foot range in total darkness. The camera also has an On Screen Display menu that provides the means for making adjustments to electronic features that enhance the quality of the video even more using features like back light compensation, automatic tone reproduction (Sony’s wide dynamic range feature) and other functions.

This is an excellent quality infrared bullet camera with a decent infrared range. It has the new Sony EXView HAD II CCD (960H) with the Effio digital signal processor for the best possible analog resolution video capture. My video recordings are very crisp, clear, and color correct. The color matching is really quite amazing. The camera has a 100 foot infrared range in total darkness and I get every bit of that plus a little more. The 2.8 to 12mm varifocal zoom lens allows you to adjust the shot the way you want it which is especially nice if you dislike those fisheye type wide angle lenses. The camera also has an OSD that can be used to control electronic features like wide dynamic range (Sony calls it Automatic Tone Reproduction or ATR), back light compensation, and other adjustments.

I really like this camera. I noticed some of the reviews indicated that the purchasers weren't that impressed with it, but if you compare this camera side by side to one with a different chipset, I think you'll see the difference right away. Sometimes I think that being used to high definition TVs and displays and especially IP megapixel security cameras can make us un aware of the differences the different chipsets make in the analog cameras. Personally, I think this camera with the Sony ExView HAD II CCD (960H) and the Effio digital signal processor make this camera worth the price. The camera's varifocal lens ranges from 2.8 to 12mm which allows you to go from wide angle to a much tighter shot with some zoom besides. Also, another benefit is the infrared LED illuminators range. Since this camera does have a varifocal lens it could be easy to try to shoot beyond the range of an average infrared illumination system but with these whopping 84 LEDs and a 100 foot distance, you've got good compatibility between the two. Of course the camera comes with an OSD that is loaded with a lot features that enhance the picture even more. All I can say is that I am very happy with mine.

I purchased one of these cameras for our business a few months ago thinking that it would be the super-duper bullet camera. It turns out it's not a bad camera, but I'm not sure there is much about it that really justifies the high price either. (I say that compared to the fact that you can purchase an infrared bullet camera with a 700 TVL for less than $70.00.) This camera definitely has three things going for it that are on the positive side. First, the new Sony EXview HAD II 960H CCD with the Effio digital signal processor does produce some of the finest images among CCTV cameras, I must give it that. And, the camera also has a 2.8 - 12mm varifocal lens (thankfully, for the price). Finally, depending on your conditions, you can tweak any where from about 75 feet to 120 feet total darkness infrared range out of this thing. But 84 IR LEDs planted around the lens seems like a bit of overkill to me. When you look at the camera head on it looks more like a spotlight staring at you then a camera. It does have Sony's "Automatic Tone Reproduction" which I guess is their name for wide dynamic range and a host of other features on its OSD. Sorry though, I just wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be with this one.

This is truly an excellent camera. I think Sony has one of the best CCD's and digital signal processing chip (in this case the "Effio") on the market today. The automatic tone reproduction does an excellent job of keeping the colors true in the video. The 700 TVL resolution also picks up some nice, fine detail. I have a Security Camera King Ultimate DVR and the only thing that I think could produce a better picture other than going with IP megapixel cameras would be to use this camera with a 960H format DVR and that's about it. The 2.8 to 12 mm varifocal lens gives you some good range in focal length from a wide open angle lens to a much tighter zoomed shot at 12 mm. My son counted the built in infrared LEDs around the lens. He was fascinated with them so I let him count them before I mounted the camera. He (as well as the specifications) said there are 84 LEDs. That some pretty thorough infrared illumination. Not only that, but the camera has a 100 foot range in total darkness in infrared mode as well. The On Screen Display give you access to many features that can be adjusted to enhance the quality of your recorded video. Although, actually, many of those features also do a fine job of working in the "automatic" mode. Some of them include adjustable electronic shutter from 1/60th to 1/100000 of a second, automatic gain control, automatic white balance, and automation backlight compensation. It's a fine camera with an excellent display and I can't see how you would be disappointed.

Dude, are you kidding me? Almost $200 for this camera? The camera works good, the picture is fine, but I can't see where this camera is worth $50 more than the camera that sells for $139.95. Just saying, I think you may have priced this one a bit high.

I don't usually write a lot of reviews because I'm not much of a writer, but I had to write one for this camera because I am so impressed with it's performance. 700 TVL is a great resolution and the camera makes a fine, detailed, crisp, color correct video picture. The camera lens is completely surrounded with 84 infrared LEDs that give this camera a good 120 foot maximum range in total darkness. The camera is easy to mount and it is weatherproof. Run an extra pair of wires with your cabling for this one because it has an RS485 connection for remote control of the OSD from the DVR. It's got all the electronic features like auto gain control, auto white balance, and variable electronic shutter that make for an excellent video recording. Reasonably priced too, I'd recommend it.

This is a good 700 TVL resolution bullet camera. The varifocal lens does it justice for adjusting shots and making mounting a little easier (if you can zoom in and out with the camera then you may be able to mount the camera in a more desirable spot). It's got some kind of Automatic Tone Reproduction (ATR) technology that ensures good color. I really don't know much about that, but I can tell you that the camera captures a video that is very fine, very clear and sharp, and very color correct. It automatically switches into night mode and turns on the LEDs (there's like 80 something) for infrared video capturing. Even the black and white night time videos are sharp and clear and it get a 100 foot range to boot! It's definitely one of the higher quality bullet cameras and until you see the picture it produces trying to describe it with words just doesn't do it justice.

This is a nice outdoor camera that provides a great video picture. Depending on the customer and its application, it may seem a little pricey (for example when using it for residential applications) to outfit an entire system with this camera but it certainly is worth it when you need a 700 TVL outdoor camera with infrared capability. The camera has all the adjustable features that you'd expect from a camera in this price range that are controlled by an OSD. The color reproduction is very dynamic and accurate. I get about a 120 foot infrared range with this camera in total darkness and with the 84 IR LEDs it provides a pretty good "beam" or IR "light."

This is definitively a professional grade infrared bullet security camera. The 700 TVL resolution is just about as fine as you can get without going to a megapixel and the color of the video is very, very life like. With the Effio DSP's automatic tone reproduction, this camera does a heck of a job at getting the color right which I think not only adds to the over quality of the video but lends itself to its credibility as well. The camera comes with a built in 2.8 to 12 mm varifocal lens that allows you to go from a wide angle shot to one that is much narrower. It has its own built-in infrared LEDs and there are plenty surrounding the lens which translates to about a 1900 foot infrared range in total darkness. Shutter speed, back light compensation, and other features are available and can be adjusted to fit your setting using the camera's on screen display menu. It's a very good camera and I intend to return to purchase additional ones in the future.
