Our Ultimate Series DVR features embedded Linux OS, remote monitoring from anywhere in the world, audio recording on all channels and H.264 compression. This is NOT a PC based DVR which is subject to viruses and hacking. This is a standalone unit built for only one purpose.
The Ultimate Series DVR is the state-of-the-art in digital surveillance technology. This DVR features professional grade components and is manufactured to industrial standards. Its advanced functionality makes this one of the best standalone systems on the market today.
This unit is all about versatility. With HDMI, VGA and BNC Video outputs, you can operate several different monitors simultaneously. And, with the included Matrix output, you can also run a separate monitor that can be programmed to display a completely different series of cameras! Need to output a single camera to its own monitor? This is not a problem with our built-in loop connectors. Every channel has its own BNC output that can be used to provide video to a monitor, a multiplexer, or anywhere you need it!
The Ultimate Series records real-time video and audio at either CIF (360 x 240) or 4CIF (704 x480) resolution on every channel. That's right! This unit can record up to 704 x 480 at 30fps on all channels simultaneously. Match this capability against any other DVR on the market today and you will see why this is truly the Ultimate DVR! It is ideal for use in casinos, for license plate capture, facial detection or anywhere that high resolution images are paramount.
The Ultimate Series DVR is amazingly simple to setup and operate. An intuitive mouse-driven interface provides very simple point-and-click control over all functions and settings. In addition, the unit also includes an IR remote control. The jog shuttle control can be used to easily fast forward, rewind, and advance frame by frame. Up to 8 channels can be played back at the same time at the DVR, and 4 channels can be played back via the web interface or client software.
The built-in Web server allows you to perform most every function of the DVR remotely with Internet Explorer. Client software is also included to allow you to centrally monitor multiple Ultimate Series units simultaneously. Two-way audio over the network or Internet is also standard on the Ultimate Series. So, not only can you hear what is going on, you can interact. This DVR supports up to 20 simultaneous network or Internet users. With Dynamic DNS support, it is not necessary to have a static IP address on your network in order to remotely access this DVR. This saves you money, as most ISPs charge extra for a static IP address.
Having the ability to remotely view your system is great, but what if you are on the road and just can't monitor your system all the time. This is no problem with the Ultimate Series DVRs highly flexible email capability. Just set up a standard POP email account and have the system email you anywhere based on any criteria you choose. Many of our customers have emails sent to their cell phone for real time alerts. You choose email triggers that you want, and the DVR does the rest.
Storage capacity will never be a problem with the Ultimate Series DVR. Up to 8 SATA hard disk drives can be installed if no burner is mounted, and up to 7 SATA drives can be installed if you choose to use the DVD-RW drive. In addition, the DVR supports eSATA to allow you to use removable external eSATA drives to store your footage. RAID hard disk management keeps your data safe from hard drive failures, while FTP backup and recording functionality ensures your video is safe even if the DVR is destroyed.
Video can be backed up to a DVD-RW or a USB thumb drive for safe keeping or in the event that you must give the footage to the police. Video can also be saved right on your PC for easy access.
The easy 3D mouse operated PTZ control allows you to control any PTZ camera. Just click on the screen and drag your mouse around. The PTZ camera follows the mouse pointer so you can smoothly and accurately follow any objects of interest.
This system runs on a rock solid Linux embedded OS, with embedded web server, and digital signal processors to bring you the most powerful network-based digital video recorder available. This high end system will provide you with everything you need other than a monitor. If you tie the system into your network, you wont even need a monitor to view your DVR.
The Ultimate Series DVR comes with an industry leading FULL 3 YEAR WARRANTY !!
And don't forget that we provide support for every step of your installation project.
***Please note: In most cases we will be able to remotely assist you in the configuration of your computer network for remote DVR viewing. However, we cannot be responsible for complex network configuration or the performance of your internet connection.***

8 Channel Ultimate Series H.264 D1 Realtime Security DVR
Review by Jaime Longefellow on Apr 09, 2013
This is a nice DVR! It's not some cheap knock-off made out of inferior electronic components that break if you sneeze. As my grand mother used to say, this DVR "has all the fixin's" too. In addition to the nice size and definition D1 resolution recording on all channels it has sound hook ups, multiple video outputs and options, and even alarm hookups. The alarms can even be integrated with the DVR to initiate cameras or used with separate 12 VDC devices like lights and sirens. The DVR comes with its own operating system that has an On Screen Display menu system. To access functions and adjust features, all you have to do is navigate between the pages of the OSD and choose your options. You can do that using the included USB mouse, infrared remote control, or the buttons on the face of the DVR. I'll admit the DVR unit has plenty of room and is still rack mountable. Ours is mounted on our network rack. The case is a 2U size case so there is room to have a DVD burner installed and/or have extra internal hard drives installed for more video storage. The DVD burner is a steal, with Security Camera King installing it before shipping the unit for $37.95, the same price of the DVD burner uninstalled. The unit does a pretty good job of controlling our PTZ camera too. Instead of using a bulky (and annoying) joystick/keypad controller for the PTZ, all you have to do is use the mouse to point and click on the monitor and the PTZ follows. Can't beat that. Can't beat the 3 year warranty for no extra charge either. I would gladly give my endorsement to this product and Security Camera King.

Unfortunately, this doesn't do the potential purchaser any good, but I must admit that once you own this DVR you'll understand why Security Camera King calls it the "Ultimate" series DVR. First, before I say anything more, let me add this. The 8 Channel Elite DVR records all 8 channels in CIF resolution at 30 frames per second. This Ultimate DVR records all 8 channels in the much larger D1 resolution at 30 frames per second. The Ultimate DVR is only $130 more than the Elite and I think the D1 resolution is absolutely worth it. The DVR was easy to install and set up for the cameras. I also took advantage of the alarm inputs and outputs which were a little more challenging for me. Thankfully, Security Camera King has a really good technical support department because I needed help with that and with using the Graphical User Interface or GUI at first. Once they pointed out a few things to me, the DVRs layout became more familiar and it was pretty easy for me to figure things out on my own. I don't use any audio, so I can't comment on that. I did purchase the optional DVD burner because I didn't need a tremendous amount of internal hard drive space and for the low price the DVD burner was a steal! In summary, the DVR works great, it comes with a 3 year full warranty, and Security Camera King has a very "supportive" support department to help with any issues.

I wish I could find something negative to say to be a little different from all the other writers but I honestly can't. Our shipment arrived in good order and in quick time. We did the install ourselves and it wasn't difficult. This Ultimate Series Recorder is nice because the recording detail is better. We've had a rash of in store thefts lately where potential suspects bring a pram in with them to the store and use it as a cover or to stuff stolen merchandise inside it. Believe it or not, not long after getting our system up and running, we caught two people doing just that. Although we couldn't stop them in time when the left the store, we showed the video to our Constable and a few days later they were able to identify them doing the same thing in other stores. With the help of the video to identify the couple they were captured. I can't say how much we truly like our security system. It works well and has many, many extra features. Good work Security Camera King and we'll be passing your name around "down here."

Hi, I'm a graduate student intern at MIT and we are working on a project that involves the need for a monitoring six different cameras simultaneously. The parameters of our project are as specific as the funds available are limited. So we needed to find a alternative solution to using six regular video cameras which wouldn't really satisfy the monitoring requirements of the project in the first place. I then had an idea that perhaps a security camera system would do the job. My father had purchased a Security Camera King video surveillance system from you about 2 years ago and remembering that I decided to check out your site. I must tell you that I appreciate how informative your site actually is with the descriptions specifications, photographs, and videos. Had it not been for this I would have probably purchased the 8 channel Elite system which would not have served our purpose because we needed to record at a frame rate of 30 frames per second, but larger than CIF resolution. This 8 channel Ultimate Series DVR does the job wonderfully. It handles all six cameras with ease and has plenty of storage for us to use it for continuous recording. When our hard drives fill up we dump them to our servers and start over. Of all our footage will be analyzed for data that we are recording with this unit when we are finished. The color is true and the frame rate and quality of the picture are extraordinary. Furthermore, when I start feeling a little neurotic and wonder if everything is going well I can use my iPhone to check in on the system via the Internet.
I'm not an easy person to satisfy so if you see me write a title like this one, you know it's got to be good! If you ever need to use the recordings from your cameras as evidence, there's not a court in this country that will throw out a D1 resolution at 30 frames per second video because it wasn't big enough, detailed enough, or too jerky in movement. Realistically speaking, if you want anything with finer detail at a larger recording display resolution, your going to have to go with an NVR and an IP megapixel camera system. I really can't think of anything more that this DVR could have. If there is, please comment on this review and let me know because otherwise I'm at a loss if there is. In addition to all the options that come inherent to the DVR itself like loop outs, video display options, alarm connections, etc. my favorite feature on this DVR is the ability to access and control it remotely from the Internet. You can use your personal computer to control and access the DVR via the Internet so you really don't even need a monitor as you can use your computer for that purpose. If you are on the go a lot you may find it tedious to try to access the system with your laptop but that's no problem either, I just whip out my iPhone and I can see what the DVR sees even on my iPhone. The DVR works great, I have no complaints, and for the quality, value, and warranty, I think it would be very difficult to find a competitor for this Security Camera King Ultimate DVR.

Review by Jesse R., WV Lottery Parlor Owner on Jan 14, 2013
Here in West Virginia, the State Lottery Commission can issue permits for Video Lottery Parlors. Most consist of a small restaurant and 5 Video Lottery Machines that have games like slots, video poker, and keno. I recently received my paperwork to open up my business and I decided I wanted to install a security camera system for added protection. The 8 channel Ultimate Series DVR with its D1 recording resolution was the perfect answer for me. With high resolution varifocal dome cameras in the machine area and the D1 display of this machine, I can actually get a close up of each player and machine screen as well as the money input and the payout slip output. I still have enough channels left to cover the entrance, cash register, and seating area. I like the large D1 displays with the fine resolution and the various options for recording (for example the entrance camera is on motion detection recording only). I also like the option for the DVR burner so I can burn a DVD quickly to give to the police should some altercation ever occur. And, the nice thing about the full size unit is it still gives me room for plenty of internal storage drives and external eSATA drives if I need them. Finally, I saved a boat load of money by installing the system myself. Good product!

We purchased this DVR to use in monitoring our warehouse and shipping area and work. The DVR works great, it's dependable, and we have never had an issue with it (for about a year and a half now). I don't think I can remember needing to reboot or shut down the DVR one time in the past 18 months. It handles all tasks well and once it is set it really doesn't need any attention at all. I'm sure we'll return for future purchases.
Big Recording Resolution, Many Features, Excellent Quality, and Lots of Storage Options!

Review by Ryan Deedle on Dec 16, 2012
This unit has the capability to record at 704 X 480 pixels at 30 frames per second and the potential to hold on to it for a good while. Security Camera King's 8 channel Ultimate series H.264 D1 realtime security DVR is fully loaded with features too. We use a Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) camera with this DVR, actually it is a Security Camera King PTZ, and we also use the 3D mouse positioning system to control our PTZ camera. All you have to do to operate the PTZ camera is basically click and drag the mouse on the monitor screen and the PTZ follows your guidance for moving and zooming. In addition to this mouse function, the DVR also has an On Screen Display (OSD) menu system that can be used to control the DVR. Further, if you run additional wires to the RS485 connection you can also control your camera's OSD (if it has one) from the DVR. Also for less than $40 dollars you can opt in to have a DVD burner installed to make copies of video footage. This is great if you need to do this for police, insurance agencies, or your own archiving even. If you don't install the DVD burner it leaves you all the more room for additional internal hard drives for storage. You can also use the RAID feature for drive redundancy to protect your data. Your bound to want to hook up this DVR to a broadband Internet source for remote access so you take advantage of this connection as well to use FTP to back up footage your own computer or server drives. This unit also has an eSATA port for external hard drive storage so there are plenty of options. This unit has excellent quality videos and does an extremely professional job.

This is an excellent, professional style 8 channel DVR. It records all eight channels in D1 simultaneously at 30 frames per second and can even play back 8 channels simultaneously! There are a lot of features that our customers, especially our commercial accounts, enjoy about this DVR. I'll list some of them here. First, many of our customers not only want the high quality surveillance that this unit provides, but they also want an alarm system too. The 8 Channel Ultimate DVR can handle 16 alarm trigger inputs and up to 6 different alarm outputs. These alarm outputs don't have to be just sirens, electronic bells, or lights; the output is a 12 VDC output which can be connected to a variety of objects including any 12VDC relay that can in turn be connected to almost anything (including central alarm monitor boxes, instrument controls, etc). The DVR also can handle up to 8 channels of audio input to record provided you obtain the microphones. Another feature that adds to the incredible versatility of this unit is the variable display options. There are three monitor output types available, HDMI, VGA, and standard BNC. The unit can display in 1080p using the HDMI connection and audio can be conveyed as well which means you can use a monitor or by today's standards a typical LCD/LED TV (just about all of these TVs have HDMI and most have VGA hookups). Finally, D1 is a large display and also a large data consumer. This unit has plenty of data storage potential, with up to 7 internal SATA drives so that you can easily handle the recorded footage over a significant period of time without re-writing. We've sold and installed many of these units and I would recommend them to others.
I've been looking for a security camera surveillance DVR for my garage. I visited Viewpoints and read a positive review about Security Camera King so I came to your website to check you out. The short end of it is I purchased your DVR-LT08240, 8 channel Ultimate Series H.264 D1 Realtime Security DVR. This is a great machine! Large size, fine resolution video recording of D1 on all channels simultaneously, you just can't beat it. It has plenty of storage potential too. I purchased the DVD burner because it was so inexpensive, but I don't really think I'll need it much. Two of my cameras are ultra high resolution varifocal cameras that target the checkout counter. I can clearly see my employees' and the customers' faces and in most cases I can even see the money, checks, or credit cards used for payment. It works great and I would recommend this DVR to others. In fact, I already have. I think my buddy that runs the Antique store next door has either already placed an order with you or is getting ready to.
