Once you install this camera you can basically sit back and let it do all the work. The camera is easy to mount despite the complex inner workings of the unit itself. The resolution isn't the highest, it's more like "middle of the road" with 520 TVL, but the video picture is still high quality and the colors are pretty accurate too. Don't expect the automatic tracking to pinpoint someone's face from their whole body and stick with it to the point of constant facial feature identification, but it will EASILY track the whole person and when within the proper range include enough facial characteristics for identification. Remember, I'm talking about the automatic tracking function here. In manual mode you can zoom in as tight as you want with no problems. The camera offers good receptivity to light being rated for low light condition in color at 1.0 lux and 0.5 lux in black and white. That's not great by any means, but crack on the digital sensitivity feature and all of a sudden those numbers drop to 0.001 Lux and that's with very little interfering digital noise. The camera has quite an extensive On Screen Display menu system that allows to you set, adjust, and program various features and settings. Some of the things the camera can do include alarm functions, of course the motion auto tracking, presets, auto cruise, and pattern scans, as well as wide dynamic range and back light compensation. There are many other features; no point in just listing them all here. It's an excellent auto tracker and as far as improvements are concerned probably the biggest improvement that could be made is in the area of resolution (it would be great if they could make this camera with 700 TVL resolution).
Auto-tracking 27X Day/Night PTZ Dome Surveillance Camera

This is a real good auto tracker. There isn't much that can get past this camera without it tracking it, especially when it comes to human beings. It has a 520 TVL resolution and a 27X power zoom. When using auto tracking, the camera keeps up with the subject and you can usually make out the facial features well enough to easily identify them, especially if you recognize the individual. When you operate the camera manually, the 27X Zoom definitely gives you the ability to zoom in on facial shots for identification. It is not very low light sensitive so if you plan on using this outdoors at night (in a parking lot for example) I would suggest that you have outdoor lighting in the area to assist the video capture. If you crank the electronic sensitivity up, you can get a 0.001 LUX sensitivity out of it though. For daytime video (and other situations I guess) it does have wide dynamic range so it can compensate for back lighting issues and shadows that would otherwise impede the quality of your video. It also has back light compensation and other features that can be controlled by the On Screen Display menu system. The auto focus and auto iris is pretty quick and responsive and I haven't experienced any chatter like I have seen from some PTZs that can't seem to make up their mind on where to exactly focus or how much light to allow in the camera. The 27X zoom lens works great and can really bring objects closer and larger. I would recommend this camera to others.

This is a pretty good camera. The 520 TVL color resolution could use a little "beefing up" but it still produces a pretty good video, even though there isn't a tremendous amount of detail (like you'd see in a 700 TVL color resolution camera for instance). Light sensitivity is pretty good too. The day mode requires a minimum of 1LUX of ambient light (which isn't a problem) and the night mode can handle down to 0.5 LUX or with DSS 0.0001 LUX. The camera has an OSD that can be used to program the camera or adjust many settings on different features. For me, there are two big options that put this camera in the price category it is at. The first is the 27X optical zoom. The zoom feature is absolutely fantastic and at 27X that a pretty powerful optical zoom. That kind of makes up for the lack of a higher resolution because with that powerful of a zoom feature, you can fill the frame with the object you are looking at without necessarily needing the detail of a 700 TVL sensor. The zoom also comes with a 10X digital zoom that is somewhat helpful especially when not all the digital potential is used. The second is the tracking mode and fast movement capabilities of this camera. This camera auto tracks objects (people, cars, animals, whatever) and does an excellent job of keeping them with in the field of view frame. It also has privacy region settings so if the object should move to a non-recording area, the camera will stop. But I guarantee you if it comes back in your designated area, the camera will be there waiting for it. In summary, although the camera may not have the highest resolution or the best low light sensitivity, it does have great auto tracking features and a powerful zoom. The camera was easy to install and doesn't require anything beyond the average for installation. I would recommend it.

This camera works great! When you purchase this camera your not just purchasing an ordinary PTZ camera, your getting an auto tracker that sticks to objects like glue and can follow them all over the place! It's kind of like having your own little radar system. When the Security Camera King VP-ATDNC27X detects an objects motion it will lock on and follow it all over its field of view. And, if the object moves "off camera" the PTZ is usually automatically there when it comes back. It many ways, this camera can actually save you the cost of paying a additional security personnel to monitor and operate a standard PTZ camera. Besides the auto-tracking function the camera produces a pretty good quality picture too with the Sony Super HAD CCD. You also get pretty good low light sensitivity from this sensor. The resolution isn't bad for there is a lot of room for improvement with it weighing in at 520 TVL. Of course in many ways, the 27X optical zoom can help compensate for that. The camera also has a 10X digital zoom. The camera has an On Screen Display (OSD) with lots of features including wide dynamic range and back light compensation. The most outstanding feature on this camera though is the ability to automatically track and follow.

Ha..ha...That's the phrase we usually use to refer to our Security Camera King 27X PTZ. With the auto tracking feature, it can keep track of anybody (or anything really) and follow it and keep it centered as much as possible. One day our camera was tracking a suspected shoplifter and one of the guys monitoring the system said "Book'em Dano" from the old Hawaii Five-0 show and it just stuck. The camera has a resolution of 520 TVL which isn't the best but with the 27X zoom you do get a great video recording. It's also a day/night camera so no infrared LED illuminators are necessary although it will pick up scattered infrared illumination from other lights if they are in its field of view. It's got a good low light visibility rating of 0.0001 LUX. This camera may not be the highest resolution or the fastest PTZ out there, but it sure does auto track extremely well and we are very satisfied with its performance. You won't be disappointed.

I have been a Security Camera King customer since 2009. I've come to trust Security Camera King for their high quality standards and great customer service. I am also familiar with the Veilux line of cameras and feel the same way about them, so when I see a Veilux security camera being sold by Security Camera King there's no question in my mind about the performance and lasting quality of the product. The video recordings this camera produces are very clear and the color is right on. My only indifference to this camera (and what keeps me from rating it a full five stars) is the camera resolution. Yes, the picture quality is good, but it seems like a camera in this class could afford to use a chip set and sensor that could produce something very close to 700 TVL. As for the PTZ functions, they are great! It has a full 360 degree continuous pan, motion auto tracking and intelligent surveillance with an alarm function. The 27X zoom really lets you bring distant objects close. The zoom is another good reason why this camera works so well in large department stores, warehouses, business offices, etc. because you surface, ceiling, or pole mount this camera in the center of a large building and see all around the building and from on side to the other with the 27X zoom. (The camera also has an additional 10X digital zoom but beyond 1 or 2X the picture isn't really enhanced much anymore). The OSD is loaded with many features that can solve a variety of what would otherwise be considered problem settings or conditions. This includes control of the iris and focus, white balance, and nine back light compensation zones. You will pretty much get every penny's worth of quality and value that you invest in this unit.

Security Camera King's auto-tracking day/night PTZ dome surveillance camera is an excellent auto tracking PTZ camera. Actually the camera is manufactured by Veilux and they are a quality security camera manufacturer. The 520 TVL color resolution produces a great quality video capture that is reasonably sharp, clear and pretty color correct. The two features that "steal the show" for me with this camera are the 27X optical zoom and the auto-tracking object features. The 27X optical zoom is pretty darn powerful and is actually comparable or better than having a decent pair of binoculars. When you add the resolution, 27X optical zoom, and the auto tracking features together, you come up with quite a powerful security and surveillance tool that can actually take the place of many single cameras and then some. Besides those considerations this thing is loaded with electronic features such as wide dynamic range, back light compensation, stabilized images with reduced flickering, presets, auto cruise, and pattern scan functions. There really isn't much you can't do with this camera whether it's using it to scan the perimeter of a building or parking lot to getting the tightest possible shot at a register, cashier or casino table. Excellent camera.

Good PTZ Camera. The camera has several mounting options that include in-ceiling (can mount), wall mount, surface mount, and pendant mount. It's a Veilux camera so when you combine Veilux with Security Camera King products you know you won't have to worry about quality; that's not even an issue. It's got 520 TVL resolution which isn't fantastic but certainly isn't bad either. The camera is day/night camera and in night mode had a pretty good low light sensitivity of about .5 LUX and includes enhancement features like back light compensation, white balance and so on. It's got all the other features you would expect from a PTZ camera like motion auto tracking, cruise, pattern scan and more. PTZ movement response times are good too. Probably the single most impressive feature of this camera is the optical zoom. The camera has a 27X optical zoom which can nail down some pretty small objects or pinpoint objects at a good distance and make them seem close. I am very satisfied with its performance and would recommend its use to others. Five stars.

It's hard to beat the quality of a Veilux security camera. This camera is a very nice auto tracking camera. The 520 TVL resolution isn't bad but in this day and age of common 700 TVL or megapixel cameras it could probably be a little higher. On the other hand, when your camera has a 27X zoom it's pretty hard to miss any detail. The camera also has a good day/night function with a good low light sensitivity for a PTZ. That's a good thing because otherwise using a camera with a 23X zoom on a distant object would be useless if you tried to do it with illuminating LEDs. The 23X zoom is the strongest zoom for a PTZ, but you can bring some fairly distant objects up pretty close. The camera has an on screen display menu that allows you to set many features including wide dynamic range, back light compensation, and standard PTZ presets and cruise patterns. The super feature of this camera is its auto tracking feature. The camera has an auto tracking motion detection setting that works great! As long as the object is moving and within range, the camera will track it. I was really impressed with the speed at which the auto tracking feature works. The PTZ functions under auto tracking respond incredibly quickly and are able to keep up well. If you don't want to continuously keep your fingers on a joystick or mouse to track moving objects, this camera can give you the break you're looking for.
This is an excellent auto tracking PTZ and it is loaded with a lot of extra features. I get a good picture from the 580 TVL resolution and the color is very accurate. The 27X zoom is pretty powerful and the camera moves quickly to easily keep up with the auto tracking. I don't use digital zoom much but the camera even has a 10X digital zoom. Night mode works pretty well too with the camera being able to "see" in very low light conditions. The camera has a cool feature where it tracks motion using "intelligent" surveillance with an alarm function. Regardless of the mount used, the camera has a 360 degree continuous pan. The camera has an on screen display menu that is used to set adjustments and electronic features such as wide dynamic range, white balance, and back light compensation including nine backlight compensation zones. The camera is easy to install and the mount and camera are both rugged and durable.
