Our Ultimate Series DVR features an embedded version of Linux OS. It also comes equipped with H.264 compression, audio recording on all channels and remote monitoring from anywhere via the internet explorer. This isn't a PC based DVR, which are subject to computer viruses and hacking; it's a standalone DVR and was built for one purposeto provide you with the highest quality video surveillance.
Our Ultimate Series DVR is a very versatile DVR. It comes equipped with HDMI, BNC and VGA video outputs, this allows you to operate multiple monitors simultaneously and with the built-in loop, you can output a single camera to its very own monitor. In addition to all of this, every channel has its own BNC output, which allows you to provide video to a monitor or multiplexer. The DVR also comes equipped with a Matrix output, which allows you to have a separate monitor that you can program to display a completely different series of cameras.
The Ultimate Series DVR comes equipped with the ability to record CIF or D1 on every channel! You can record 704x480 at 30FPS (Frames per Second) on every channel simultaneously. This is IDEAL for use in gas stations, banks, cash registers, back doors or anywhere else that requires higher levels of resolution.
The Ultimate Series DVR is very simple and easy to operate and setup. Our Ultimate Series DVR uses a mouse-driven interface, which provides you with point-and-click control over every function and setting within the DVR. You can playback up to 4 channels at the same time at the DVR and you can playback up to 4 channels with our web interface, client software or our smart phone application. The Ultimate Series DVR also has a Jog Dial, which allows you to quickly rewind, fast forward, and advance frame by frame right at the DVR. The DVR also comes with an IR remote, which allows you to control the settings within the DVR.
The Ultimate Series DVR has a built-in web server that allows you to control almost every function of the DVR remotely with Internet Explorer. With the Two-Way audio over the network or internet, you can not only listen to everything going on, but you can communicate with everyone as well. We also include our client software, which gives you the ability to monitor and control multiple Ultimate Series DVRs all at the same time. The DVR also supports Dynamic DNS, which means you don't need a static IP Address, which saves you money, because most ISPs (Internet Service Providers) charge an additional fee for static IP Addresses. The Ultimate Series DVR supports up to 20 internet user or network users simultaneously.
With the Ultimate Series DVR you have the ability to receive e-mail notifications from your DVR. All you need is a POP e-mail address and then configure the DVR to e-mail you updates to the POP e-mail address and that's it! So even if you're on the road, you'll never be far from you're DVR.
Storage will never be an issue with the Ultimate Series DVR. The DVR can hold up to 8 SATA hard drives if no DVD burner is installed or it can hold up to 6 hard drives and 1 DVD burner. The DVR also has RAID hard disk management which keeps your data safe in case of a hard drive failure. The DVR also supports eSATA, which allows you to connect an external eSATA hard drive to store or backup your video footage. You can also perform FTP backups and recording.
Video can be backed up to a DVD-RW or a USB thumb drive for safe keeping or in the event that you must give the footage to the police. Video can also be saved right on your PC for easy access.
The easy 3D mouse operated PTZ control allows you to control any PTZ camera. Just click on the screen and drag your mouse around. The PTZ camera follows the mouse pointer so you can smoothly and accurately follow any objects of interest.
This system runs on a rock solid Linux embedded OS, with embedded web server, and digital signal processors to bring you the most powerful network-based digital video recorder available. This high end system will provide you with everything you need other than a monitor. If you tie the system into your network, you wont even need a monitor to view your DVR.

4 Channel Ultimate Series H.264 D1 Realtime Security DVR
Review by Charles Alonge on Apr 06, 2013
Nice Working, clean and neat DVR. It records all 4 channels simultaneously at D1 resolution and the video is very sharp and colorful. It records at this resolution at a real time rate of 30 frames per second, so the movement in the video is just as fluid as in real life. The DVR comes with four channels of audio input and bi-directional sound (which we use and is one of the reasons why we purchased this model) and four channels of alarm inputs and three channels of alarm outputs. It also has a variety of video display options that we couldn't find on other brands and that's another reason why we purchased Security Camera King's 4 Channel Ultimate. Perhaps our use is a little unique to require all of these features, but we are glad that Security Camera King actually had a four channel model that could deliver them all. We also use all three main monitor options out (HDMI, VGA, and BNC) and we also have one active spot monitor. We're talking a relatively small number of cameras on one unit here so of course the DVR can playback all four cameras at once. Once you get use to the control, the jog dial is a convenient controller for jumping ahead or back on the video recording. We ordered our DVR with plenty of internal hard disk drive storage plus the DVD burner as we do use it from time to time. IF that isn't enough storage, you can even utilize external eSATA hard drives but I really can't imagine someone needing that much video storage capacity for only four cameras. But then again, many people probably don't use all the features we do either, so I imagine it is a possibility. The unit has a USB port on the back and on the front so you can use one to plug in the included USB mouse and the other to back up video or make copies onto external USB hard drives or flash drives. Finally, one of the most impressive features of this DVR is how it handles all the security work and at the same time can integrate all of that with the Internet. All you have to do is plug it into your network or Internet connection using a CAT5 Ethernet cable and you can obtain remote access for viewing and controlling the DVR from a smartphone or computer. In fact up to 20 people at one time can access it. We have nothing bad to say about the quality or operation and Security Camera King's customer service is excellent. The only thing I will add is that unless you really need most of the features offered on this full size 2U unit, you may want to consider the smaller "Mini" unit which can handle the same number of cameras at the same resolution for about $350 less.

This is just about the top of the line when it comes to 4 channel DVRs, especially with all the extra options, functions, and features. To be quite honest, it may be considered by some even to be a little overkill. I think the two major selling points of this DVR is that it can record D1 resolution at 30 frames per second on all four channels simultaneously and still have plenty of room inside for internal hard disk drive storage. If you can afford it, you can really load this unit up with hard drive storage space, which in some cases may not be anything close to overkill but may be a requirement as well. As a rough estimate, if you are recording all four cameras simultaneously and continuously (24 hours) at D1 resolution and 30 frames per second rate, and using the highest quality setting for recording for each camera, you'll use close to one full Terabyte of space in 7 days. So if you need to keep the video for an extended period of time or don't want to mess with regularly downloading files to make room for more files, the extra space is a welcome feature. If you need to provide distributable copies of video footage and need to do so often, you may want to forego some internal storage space and go with the internal DVD burner. Security Camera King installs it for you and it is dirt cheap at a cost of only $37.95. Of course this DVR has lot's of other features (check them out in the "Descriptions" or "Features" tabs) but I'm sure as I have read on the other reviews and experienced myself, that the Internet accessibility is a big favorite. Another plus is the 3 year warranty. As far as the actual video recordings are concerned they are sharp, clear and pretty color correct.
Excellent Quality, Lots Of Features, and Easy To Operate!

The D1 quality recording on all 4 cameras at 30 frames per second simultaneously is of excellent quality, but then again it should be. Four channels is not a lot of processing work for today's processors so I would expect this DVR to handle the workload continuously even at a D1 resolution. The recordings are clear, colorful, and smooth. In my opinion, the three characteristics of this recorder that really makes it "rise above the rest" are the 1) electronic features, 2) physical connection and operation options, and 3) the three year warranty at no extra charge. Let's take the physical connection and operations first since they will be the easiest. The DVR is in a 2U case which means it has plenty of room for additional internal hard drive storage, or an installed DVD burner, or even both. The front panel has button controls to operate the DVR and indicator lights. However, the DVR can also be operated by using a USB mouse which is included or a remote control which is also included. The front panel of the DVR has two USB ports for convenience so that you can easily connect your USB mouse and some other USB device (like a thumb drive for example) at the same time. The back panel includes BNC connections for video and audio channels, wire terminals for alarm and RS485 connections as well as video ports for monitors that are compatible with HDMI and VGA. There's also an RS232 port for connecting a keyboard, an RJ45 Ethernet port, an eSATA port for external drives, and an extra USB port. I could write a book on the electronic features of this unit, but I will try to keep it brief yet informative. The OSD is user friendly and consists of icons, menu lists, check boxes, and radio buttons for making selections. There are several playback functions including standard and advanced controls. The OSD provides you with incredible recording options (including redundancy recording to RAID hard drives). Other features include general settings, Encoding choices, Scheduling, Network Settings, Alarm set up, Motion Detection, Display output choices, Hard Disk Drive management, and Backup configurations to name a few. Basically, it's got it all. You won't be disappointed by this DVR and furthermore, I challenge you to find one that does everything it does at the price listed by Security Camera King!

When we first considered a DVR for our security camera system, we were a little "gun shy" because we wanted a DVR that would record in D1 resolution but we actually needed three full monitors for our situation. I'm just guessing, but I would suspect this doesn't happen very often in most security camera installations. Also we needed to record audio on each channel as well. When we started shopping around I mentioned it to one of my co-workers who told me about Security Camera King. He had purchased his residential system from them. When I found Security Camera King's 4 Channel Ultimate Series H.264 D1 Realtime Security DVR I was ecstatic! I could swear they had built this just for us! We purchased it about 4 moths ago and we've been loving it ever since. I was going to wait even longer before I wrote this review to see how it would last, but with a 3 year warranty I figured what the heck I might as well write it now. The unit is pretty amazing. It comes in a 2U rack mountable case (which we also needed) and has ample room to add additional internal hard disk drives for greater storage capacity. Besides the video and audio inputs it can even accept 4 alarm inputs and 3 channels of alarm outputs to devices or relays that can operate off of 12 VDC. As I said in the beginning, we have 3 full time monitors: HDMI, VGA, and BNC and they all work fine. You actually have the choice of recording in D1 or CIF but we definitely purchased this for the higher resolution (D1) capability in real-time. The DVR comes with its own USB mouse and an infrared remote control, either one of which can be used to operate the On Screen Display menu system, as well as the buttons on the front of the case. This DVR has so many extra features and capabilities it's amazing, especially the remote access option. Connect the DVR to an Internet connection and you can have up to 10 Internet users simultaneously access the DVR and cameras. You can also have the DVR send you an e-mail when an event occurs so you can use it like an alarm while you are on the go. We also ordered the DVD burner installed which is a steal for only $37.95 more. The DVR works well without showing any signs of wear or being "overwhelmed" and the recordings and displays are clear, crisp and colorful.

I'm just an average homeowner that purchased this DVR for my residence. The DVR works great! The D1 resolution on all channels in real time is excellent and shows up clearly on my Large Screen LCD TV and monitor using the HDMI video output. I must say I did learn one very important lesson from this purchase and installing my own security camera system and that is to do your research BEFORE you make your purchase. Though there really is absolutely nothing wrong with this DVR unit, I realized after purchasing it and installing it that I basically "over bought." I really don't need tons of storage; my thinking was if a movie DVD holds 4.7 gigs and only lasts two hours than I had better spend a lot of money on internal storage and go with the Ultimate model instead of the mini for that reason. I didn't realize that security camera recording mechanics were different. Also, I've never really had an occurrence yet in the six months that I've owned this DVR to use the DVD burner. Now even though the burner unit was less than $40 to have Security Camera King pre-install it for me, it was another necessity I reasoned to purchase the full size Ultimate instead of the Mini version DVR. I guess what I am trying to say is this. If you are a do-it-yourself type kind of person and want to install your own security camera system, do some thorough research on what you'll need and why, even talk to Security Camera King's staff to ask for suggestions, before making your purchase blindly. It could save you a lot of unnecessary expense. As far as the DVR goes, I have no complaints and it works well.
First let me say that I haven't found a Security Camera King DVR that hasn't been made with the utmost quality built in as well as some rather ingenious features that you won't find in any other DVR. That being said, let's consider this full size Ultimate model. When you compare it with the "Mini" Ultimate here's what the full size Ultimate has that the "Mini" doesn't. The ultimate full size has:
1. eSATA ports for adding external hard drives for storage.
2. The case or unit is twice as big.
3. The ultimate can hold up to 8 internal hard drives (the "mini" only 2).
4. It can support an internal DVD burner (which must be purchased separately).
And that's mainly about it. So the full size Ultimate's biggest advantage is support for more internal (and external) storage. So if that is important to you, then the full size series is the way to go. If on the other hand, you can live with a limited amount of storage that the "Mini" offers I would suggest saving almost $400 and going with the "Mini."
Nice Recording Unit with Lots of Useful Features and Internet Accessibility!

I'm not a professional CCTV installer or dealer and I barely qualify as a do it your selfer. This is the first security camera system I have ever owned, installed, or operated. A very close friend of mine recommended Security Camera King and after shopping around for a while I decided to purchase the 4 Channel Ultimate Series DVR. At this point at least, I'm glad I did. The DVR is pretty amazing in that it records 704 X 480 pixels or D1 resolution at 30 frames per second. Although I am not familiar with security camera systems I am very familiar with digital video concepts and I must say that this resolution and rate for four cameras at the same time is pretty processor intensive. However, the Ultimate DVR does an excellent job of keeping up without any problems. No crashes, no reboots, not even any dropped frames and the quality of the video is very impressive, not to mention that the color is very life like. Take all of this and display it on an LCD TV/monitor using an HDMI cable and display it at 1080p and you have a pretty impressive video recording! Meanwhile, while doing all of this video recording work, the DVR has a many other features and tasks that it can perform with ease including providing remote access via the Internet. If you are a newbie like I am at using security camera systems, you can feel confident that this DVR will do the job and do it nicely. In addition to the quality production, it also comes with a 3 year full warranty to back it up.

This is a full size, all-out version of a 4 channel DVR that can easily record D1 resolution (704 X 480 pixels) on all channels simultaneously at a realtime rate of 30 frames per second (you can drop the resolution down to CIF too if that's what you prefer). Security Camera King's 4 Channel Ultimate Series H.264 D1 Realtime Security DVR comes loaded with a ton of features that either enhances your security camera system or your general security as a whole. First the unit is big enough to support a DVD burner for back ups and hard drive storage up to 8 Terabytes. In addition, the DVR supports eSATA so you can add additional external hard drives if you need it. The more storage you have, the less often you have to do dump backups or worry about short re-recording time loops. The DVR can also handle 4 separate channels of audio as well as 4 alarm inputs and 3 alarm outputs. (These alarm inputs may not be numerous enough for some applications but they are excellent for applications like apartments or specific localized areas.) This unit gives you a choice of three different types of video connection, HDMI, VGA, or BNC. I suggest the HDMI because it can display in 1080p resolution, it is the most "universal" type video connection these days, and you can use it to transmit the video and audio at the same time to your monitor. The DVR works off an On Screen Display (OSD) menu system that is controlled by the included USB mouse or infrared remote control. It can also be navigated by using the buttons on the outside of the DVR. Finally, you can even hookup an Ethernet cable to your broadband Internet source and have the DVR send you alert emails to your phone, or remotely control the device and watch the cameras using a computer or a smartphone or iPad. This is just simply amazing.

This is a maximum performance high quality professional 4 channel DVR. With the capacity for an 8 Tb hard disk drive (and more storage options if you want it) you can practically sit this thing up and walk away from it without touching it for several months or more. You can also order this unit with an installed DVD burner (which I think is definitely worth the small expense) for making up back-ups and copies. The DVR not only has 4 video channels but can accept up to 4 audio channels as well. And, as long as we're talking about the number 4, it can also handle up to 4 different alarm inputs (and 3 12 VDC alarm outputs), and it can playback all 4 channels at once.. It offers professional style video outputs including HDMI, VGA, and BNC connections as well as loop outs for spot cameras on each channel. The higher resolution display works excellent for covering all the activity at our cash register and for monitoring the traffic flow at our one entrance/exit. With our large hard disk drive I really don't foresee the need for any additional drives but the unit can handle additional internal as well as eSATA external drives as well. Even though we have a DVD burner, we often use the USB Flash drive option for copying footage too. Finally, you can't beat the remote accessibility with Internet connected devices like a computer or Smartphone. This option allows me to stay in constant touch with my store if I feel the need.

I've owned this DVR for just a little over a year now and I can say that it works great, it's dependable, and I love it! I own a 24 hour automatic and self serve car wash. There are several vending machines on my property that contain things from car wash supplies to DVD rentals. With this unit and my four cameras I am able to monitor all the activity in the wash bays as well as the customers at the vending machines and the rest of the perimeter of the car wash. Using the D1 recording with s couple of high resolution cameras, I can even capture license plates of customers as they pull into the bays in case they are needed for future use in the event of damage claims, vandalism, etc. I have a small storage room where the supplies and maintenance equipment are kept and I have the DVR located there in a lock box for extra protection. I have had broad band Internet installed so I can monitor the premises anytime I want with my PC or Android. I use the alarm inputs for the storage room and bay doors when they are closed. The DVD burner has been useful to me too, as I have had a few instances of random vandalism, customers abusing the equipment, and one out right theft. On each occurrence I was able to make copies of the video footage for proof to give to the police and/or insurance company. I only used a monitor for set up, as my phone or computer are my monitors via the Internet most of the time. This is an excellent system and I highly recommend it!

I own a large animal pet motel which houses our guests in lengths of stay from anywhere from a few days to over a month. We haven't had any security issues as yet (and I hope we never do) but just in case and to be on the safe side, last year I purchased a Security Camera King 4 channel Economy system to monitor the exterior of our business. I liked the system but the feature I really liked the most was the remote Internet accessibility from my home computer or my iPhone. I surveyed my customers about the idea of them being able to monitor their pets while they stay and it went over big time! So, we use the Securiuty Camera King Complete 4 Channel DVR Ultimate Security Package system to monitor each of our guests' "rooms." It works great, not only for the staff here but more importantly for our guests owners as they are able to log in and see their pet from any computer connected to the Internet or from their own Smart phone. The quality of the video is outstanding and our customers can even see their pet at night with the infrared cameras. The system was easy to install and I believe it has really boosted our business, which I'm happy to say keeps expanding. If we get any bigger, Security Camera King will see me back here soon!

Excellent cost effective system. I'm a professional CCTV installer and I have purchased many of these 4 Channel Ultimate systems from Security Camera King and have been able to pass the cost savings on to my customers. This system is the 4 Channel Security Camera system equivalent of a "loaded backed potato!" It's got everything! First of all the DVR records in a large D1 resolution at 30 frames per second on every channel simultaneously. Clear, large, detailed recordings. The DVR never misses frames, crashes, locks up or any of those problems. The 600 TVL cameras are a good resolution camera but are pretty basic so I usually recommend to my customers that they upgrade to the 700 TVL varifocal cameras (or the fixed 3.6mm lens 700 TVL resolution cameras). I've never had any problems with the cameras either and for the apparent cost these perform pretty darn well. The DVR has audio inputs and outputs to record up to four channels of sound and even a bidirectional audio capability. It also has alarm inputs and outputs that can be used as se3parate 12VDC relays systems or can be tied win with the camera functions via the DVR's On Screen Display (OSD) menu system. The DVR can handle several internal hard disk drives for self storage of video data and it also has room for multiple drives and a DVD burner (you almost have to take the DVD burner unless you absolutely need the storage room. Security Camera King installs one for only $37.95 more which is a steal!) For video display you have a total of three main simultaneous display options using HDMI, VGA, and BNC ports and the HDMI output can carry all the sounds without the need for separate speakers. You also have the option of running a video matrix and loopouts for spot cameras. Probably one of the most popular functions is the remote accessibility option. If you have a business network or simply an Internet connection at home or work you can connect the DVR to it and download Security Camera King's free apps for smartphones, tablets, and personal computers to access your system remotely. Actually, you can have the DVR send you an e-mail when a camera detects motion and if you have a smartphone or are near your computer, go directly to your system via the Internet or network to monitor that camera and what is taking place. If you are worried about underestimating your storage requirements the DVR also has eSATA capability for using external SATA hard disk drives, USB ports, and you can even use FTP to back up your files to your computer or network servers. I can't see how anyone could be disappointed with this set up!

I really don't write a lot of reviews but I purchased my Security Camera King Complete 4 Channel DVR Ultimate Security Camera Package system strictly on the advice of a friend. He's a bit of an electronics buff so I assumed he knew what he was talking about. I ordered the system, received it quickly and in perfect order. I installed it myself and it is working fine. The D1 resolution on the Ultimate DVR is much better than CIF and the video recorder does a good job of producing accurate color displays (or perhaps I should say the cameras and the DVR do together). The whole system has been working fine now and without fail or hesitation for a couple of months. However, recently I did some Internet surfing and found several systems, several 4 channel D1 systems that included the cameras, cables, and DVR, for much less, in some cases more than half less than the price of my Security Camera King model. To be fair, I did note some general differences among many of the other brands though. Most did not include a DVD burner nor was their option for one. Many came with a 500 gigabyte hard drive with no option for additional drives. Very few of them had the ability to back up their footage using a USB thumb drive and all of the other non-Security Camera King DVRs did NOT have a 3 year warranty. I can't say I am dissatisfied with my Security Camera King system, but I do wonder if I paid the right price. It's hard to know when you can't see systems working side by side so I will fall back on the recommendation of my friend. For now I'll rate the system as average with the price consideration, and in time, provided it continues to perform as well as it does today I may return and upgrade my rating.

Let me say up front I am a do it your self type kind of person and I am tough on products when I review them. Nothing gets five stars until they have proven themselves over time, because I've been nailed by what I think is "planned obsolescence several times. This system is very new for me. In time, if it continues to perform well without any repairs, etc. I will return and upgrade my rating. I'll also say this, at this time I have no quells with the equipment or the way it is functioning, but in retrospect I have found several systems on line that offer similar functions that are much cheaper. However, I must admit that most only come with a 1 year warranty on the DVR unless you want to purchase "extended coverage." I also assumed that if the DVR came with audio recording and alarm inputs and outputs that the hard ware would be included for that, but it is not. I have the DVD burner installed and I have tested it and it works fine. I have purchased it because it was very inexpensive and I want to have something to present to authorities if I ever need it. I'm not a computer geek and know almost nothing about networks, But I am relentlessly determined, so I attempted to hook the remote feature with the Internet. That was not easy for me, and I was not going to call your support department because it was supposed to be a do it your self system. It took some learning and a lot of tinkering on my behalf but I finally got it. I'll check in from time to time down the road. If my system is still fully functional, I'll upgrade my rating.

Security Camera King's Complete 4 Channel DVR Ultimate Security Camera Package is a pretty sweet deal. Everything is included in the package to create your own 4 channel security camera system except the monitor, tools, and cable/wire fasteners. (Actually, it's like Security Camera King says, you really only need the monitor briefly to set things up, I'll explain why in a moment). You may not have to fasten the cables or wires to your building or structure either, but it's more than likely you will. For that you can purchase the fasteners at your local hardware or home improvement store. The dome cameras that come with the package are basic automatic dome cameras with two exceptions. These cameras have a high resolution recording potential of 600 TVL in color and they have their own built in infrared illuminating LEDs that reach about 50 feet so you can still record video in total darkness. The DVR is what really makes this package, it is unbelievable. Before I forget, unless real long internal hard drive storage capacity is an issue for you, purchase the DVD burner along with the system. Security Camera King installs it for you and it costs less than $40. If you also purchase your hard drive from them, they will install it too, and when your package arrives you'll just about be ready to go! The DVR has several amazing features. First it records in real-time rates at 30 frames per second at a display resolution of D1 for all four channels simultaneously. It also provides you with the option to record audio on up to four channels as well (if you decide to record audio, you'll need wire and microphones and power splitters for this). This 4 channel unit can even handle up to 4 channels of alarm inputs and up to 3 channels out. The DVR is basically operated in one of four ways: 1) by the included USB mouse, 2) by the included infrared remote control, 3) by the buttons on the front panel, and 4) by a personal computer, iPad, or smartphone using Security Camera King's free downloadable applications. That's the reason why you really only need a monitor for setting it up. After the DVR is up and running, if you plug it into a broadband Internet source you can monitor the cameras on any of the devices I just mentioned. In addition to the DVD burner you can also use the USB port to save copies or backups of files to USB hard drives or USB thumb drives which can easily be transferred to a personal computer for the purpose of burning a CD or DVD. Finally, not only does the DVR have these incredible features but it also comes with a full 3 year warranty which also has given me some peace of mind.

The Security Camera King Ultimate Package just about has it all. Not only does it record all four cameras at D1 resolution at 30 frames per second but it has plenty of room for a DVD burner and additional internal hard disk drives too. (If you do not need the massive amount of internal hard drive space, I recommend you order the DVD burner--It's a steal at only $37.95 and Security Camera King installs it for free!). Another suggestion is that if you're going to go with an "Ultimate" system and you can afford it, you might as well upgrade the cameras to the 700 TVL resolution cameras, especially the varifocal lens models. In addition, I added four channels of alarm sensors to my DVR (two for my doors and two PIRs) so I also have an alarm system as well. The features that come with this Ultimate DVR are really quite amazing! There are very few things you can't do with this system. The DVR includes a USB mouse and a remote control to operate the DVR and mainly the On Screen Display Menu which in turn controls all the electronic features. This system is definitely a win-win situation!
I call this the 4 channel mini enterprise system because although it may not be adequate enough for large business or corporation use, it has "enterprise" type storage capacity for video footage. Actually, in my opinion there are two major differences between this and the Mini Ultimate Security Package. First you can record up to 4 channels of audio on the Ultimate but I think the most significant difference is the storage capacity. The full Ultimate DVR can hold up to 8 internal SATA hard drives (if you skip the DVD burner--if you order a DVD burner there is room for 6). As far as the system as a whole is concerned, the quality is far above average for just about everything, cameras and DVR included. D1 size recording resolution is actually rather large too, so you get a nice big recording display to look at later. I'm glad the DVR includes a USB mouse and an infrared remote control as I would have hated to have to find out that I would need to go and get them after the package arrived. I don't have much use for the remote control but I'm sure some people do. To Sum it all up, you get what you pay for and with this package deal you get quite a bit with outstanding quality and performance.

I figured a good way to start the New Year (2013) off was to write a full review for the Security Camera King Complete 4 Channel DVR Ultimate Security Camera Package I purchased a year ago today. Let me begin by saying that the system has served me and my store well and over the course of the year has paid for itself in shoplifting convictions and one robbery attempt. I have a suggestion to other store owners that use a security camera system and that is, the visibility of the cameras is a good deterrent for theft but to increase the deterrent factor, clearly and visibly post the outside and inside of your business with signs that inform customers that the exterior and interior is under video surveillance. As for the system, it really does work great. I installed it myself and there were no difficulties. The 600 TVL cameras work very well and provide the coverage I need both inside the store and at my store front and back. I also use the alarm function on the DVR for my front and back door. They both are set with triggers and the alarm outputs go three places: 1 goes to a bright light, 1 goes to a speaker siren, and 1 goes to my 24 hour monitoring service. I record audio on the camera at my cash register. One of the greatest innovations with this system is the ability to use it with my iPhone from just about anywhere. I appreciate Security Camera King's free downloadable apps; I think others would try to soak you some bucks for them as well. Look for me in another year, I'll write an update to this review if anything has changed.

I'm not a professional installer, just a typical do it yourselfer and I installed this system in my business. I will say right off the bat that the system works great. I have written this review geared toward others who are non-professional security camera installers. As far as ordering this system was concerned, I knew exactly what I wanted so I didn't require any direct interaction with Security Camera King's sales staff. I just got on the computer and placed my order. I received it rather quickly, within about 3 days. The system contains everything you need to install your security camera system except the tools to perform the installation, the hardware to mount the cabling and wires, and the monitor. Check the monitor output of your DVR to determine what your options are. In this case the Ultimate has an HDMI connection so I purchased a cheap LCD monitor at a Wal-Mart to use as a monitor (do this while you are waiting for your order to arrive) or you can even use your television as a monitor if it has multiple inputs and one that matches one of the outputs on your DVR. As for the cabling and wires, you'll need to think in advance how you intend to attach your cables and wires for your camera and power supply so you may also want to purchase these at your local electronics store or home improvement store while you are waiting for your order to arrive. Finally, the tools you'll need depend on what types of camera/connections/cable attachments you choose. Now the system. The Ultimate DVR system works great, high performance, great recording speed, and the quality of the recordings is very good with a big resolution display of D1 for each camera at the same time at 30 frames per second (real time). If you have broad band Internet service you will want to consider getting a router if you don't already have one so you can connect your Ultimate DVR to it. With it connected you can access your system from a computer or smartphone that also has Internet capability. Finally, the full size Ultimate differs from the mini not only in price but in features. It offers 4 channel alarm input so you can set up an additional alarm system; 4 channel audio so you can record audio with video, an optional DVD burner, and lots of extra case space for extra internal storage drives. As a do it your selfer, I think you'll find that the installation of the Ultimate package can actually be fun and that you'll love the results when you are finished.
You can't ask for much more in a 4 channel security camera package deal. This DVR records at a large 704 X 480 pixel display at 30 frames per second for each channel simultaneously. The video recording is clear and detailed. About the only thing you could really do to improve it would be to upgrade to a 700 TVL resolution camera. There are a limited number of alarm inputs/outputs and you can also record audio on four separate channels. The display resolution on the monitor or TV is 1080p using the HDMI video output. The DVR records all channels smoothly and without a hitch. I haven't had to reboot the unit since I installed it over 6 months ago. The DVR comes with a USB mouse and an infrared remote control that are used to operate the on screen display menu system that in turn operates the DVR and the various settings. In addition, you can hook your DVR up to the Internet and access your system remotely using an iPad, iPhone, Droid, or a computer. Plus you can set conditions on the DVR to have it e-mail you so you can get alerts when you are away from the system. There is plenty of room for an internal hard disk drive and a DVD burner if you choose to have it installed. (If you opt out on the DVD burner you can still use a USB flash drive to make copies of videos.) Definitely a quality product with many helpful features designed right into the DVR.
