Since upgrading to windows 10 I Cannot download or save recorded or live video remotely to my pc as i used to under windows 7…When I try (under search) it opens a save as dialog box in a weird default location of documents (Not c:
ecordDownload as before) and in the file list it says no items match your search [pic 1] so i browse to the old proper folder (or any other) and type a name to call it...(.dav type is selected - not *.* but niether works)...i get error that says 'file not found' no matter what i try to name it or where i try to save it and i have Plenty of HD space free... [pic2]

so i tried overwriting an old .dav file i had from before...it says cannot download and play on same channel but nothing is playing and only 1 channel is selected and only 1 file is selected to download (even if i do select multichannel playback and choose another channel- which i'm not, i only have one channel selected)… [pic 3]

also during live viewing if i try to capture video or screen capture live no file is saved to my local hard drive on pc at all… the screen cap or record vid icons turn white as if they've been selected/activated but nothing seems to actually happen

If I open local play it defalts to opening an odd folder [pic 4]

I tried deleting webrec folder and reinstalling axctivex component to no avail…I even re-created the apparently missing c:\picturedownload and c:
ecorddownload folders to match the config.ini to no avail. I also opened command prompt with admin rights to edit config.ini to change both paths to just d:\ and still nothing is saved with either method as above. I have the ult/elite 16channel Please help

MSIE 11 on Windows 10 64

for what it's worth:
I also tried on another PC outside my local network (at work) which also is win10/64 & MSIE 11 and it also is defaulting to an odd almost unreachable location but after browsing to the c:
ecordDownload folder it is now starting out in that location and i Was able to use download funtion to save .dav files remotely but the live record and snapshot is either saving in some virtual temporary location or not funtioning, the icons turn white indication activation when you click but nothing is saved and no errors pop up...which this pc is also doing but this one does not save video with either method at all and the recorddownload folder is Not remembered. instead its an odd location like c:\users
ick\localapp\Micro..\windows\0\vitrulaized,...temporary internet\appdate
ick\desktop\documents...etc...(not exactly) but if you try to browse to location in explorer you come to a dead end as some folders hidden even with hide prot op files disabled, however you can browese to the location via adminostrator command prompt and command line copy the .dav files to a reasonable location (what i did on pc at work)

i also noticed if i change and save certain settings remotely they do not save yo dvr... for example if i change snapshot timing to trigger and save..exit restart,..it's back to timing) have not tried on dvr yrt but noticed in threads others having similar issue with saving changes and could be related so i mentioned it.

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions you may have

Open a chat session so we can remote into your computer and assist you on this. It seems to be that the upgrade has changed the way files are handled.

I have seen .dav files being hidden. Which you can unhide from the command prompt by changing its attribute

attrib *.* -h -s /s /d

The same will be if you nav to tha location using a explorer window and View, Options, Change Folders and Search Options and selecting the View tab. Click on the Show Hidden Files, folders and drives radio button and applying the changes.

I'm sure you know this but its good input for anyone searching for this issue.
