How exactly does a configuration backup or export work?  I've completed an export of my DVRs configuration via the web interface and also using the DVR going to a USB flash drive.   When doing this via a web browser through the network I get one file but doing this on the DVR produces a folder with several files.  The difference I notice is when I go to restore from these backups.  Not all settings seem to restore depending on which backup files I choose.  For example the users (accounts) and network settings don't restore.  I'm concerned that there may be more missing.  What is the best way to completely backup a DVR's configuration including users and all?  Thanks.

Have you tried to do it just from the WEB? I don't believe the user settings will come as part of the backup only like encoding, schedule, detection.

Yes.  I've tried using Internet Explorer and directly from the DVR.  I wish I could 100% completely back up the configuration including all settings.

I tested this with my test DVR, and it seems to save all network settings other than the IP address.  It restored my HTTP port 88 setting for example.  Looking at the Config.backup text file shows that it stores almost everything.  Perhaps the logic as to why it does not save a static IP address is to make sure the address is verified as available prior to setting it.
