Also make sure you don't have telnet ports forwarded in your router, and at least change the local IP - incase someone is jumping on and wiping the accounts. They can do that with telnet, for example - depends on the DVR/NVR though, newer ones are more difficult. Also as mentioned it could be bad hardware causing the OS to reset (wiping the accounts).
