Below you will find a link to a video that will walk you through setting up your email notifications with your new SIBELL recorder. Please keep in mind I recommend GMAIL for this feature.

I wanted to add that sometimes you have to use your full e-mail address in the “name” field when configuring.

I have a QDVR-SBE8ME; and I followed the video but test always fails. I’ve tried using several email addresses (3 Gmail & 1 Att.net) and 2 ISP’s (Time Warner & ATT). Any ideas?

Your post has only the model number of the recorder. Please post the settings that you are using, ports ,ssl etc… also be sure to have the correct dns settings on your recorder.

Try 25 or 587 as well. Also be sure to have less secure apps enabled in your gmail account.

Tried ports 25 & 587; test fails with both of them. Less secure apps is enabled.

If you are on an att modem please be sure to turn off or disable the IPV6 Settings. If the IPV6 setting is turned on, once you have disabled this you will need to restart the modem and all devices on the network. I have seen this create an issue and I am mentioning it only because you mention you have an @ATT.net email address. You can also open a chat session and get a Technician to remote into your computer and check your network and settings to see what combination is best for your location. And rememeber we have Free Tech Support for our Products. 😉
