I have a 8 Channel NVR with4 x 3MP IP Camera set to record on motion. Well, the area is high traffic, and I’m now getting about 2-3 days of recording off them before it fills up my 4TB drive. Which is a little weird, as I’ve gone a few weeks with them recording 24/7 at full res.
So, my question. Is there a way for me to get any data on how much data is used per day, per camera? That way I know how big of a drive I need to buy, to keep my retention!
*Side question, any other settings you can suggest, to increase my recording retention?
hello,
you probably left the default value in the camera for bit rate. I would lower it to 4000. you can also lower frame rate to 25.
