Hello sir,

What is the model of your DVR? Some DVR's just do not support that feature.

Thanks,

Hello sir,

When you go to 'Search' you have to choose the day of the incident and the camera that you want. Make sure that you are on '1 camera view' and click the green bar to start playing the footage. The option of Smart Search should become available to you at this point. Let me know if it worked.

Thanks,

Could it be that it needs to be recording continuously instead of MD only?

Hello sir,

Sorry for the late response! It seems strange that it doesn't work. Give me please 24 hours to test it in our lab here. I will let you know the results. If it will work, I will make a video and send you the link.

Hello sir,

Unfortunately, from the research that I conducted, I found out that your NVR does not support the Smart Search feature that you are looking for. Please contact us for any questions that you might have at 866-573-8878.

Thank you,

Smart Search

On my NVR-ELM-8-POE-8-DH I followed your instructions above and the Smart Search says "There is no motion detect data in current region"

Recording is on 24/7. Motion detection is off. Should motion detect be on ?

Need help

I go to one channel.

I click on regular. Video plays.

I click on Smart Search. Squares appear. I choose squares for area of motion. I click Smart Search again.

Message appears "there is no motion detect data in current region.

What am I doing wrong with Smart Search?

I am experimenting back and forth on Smart Search. Is it  necessary to have 1. motion detection on each camera. 2. motion on in weekly Schedule.

Does Smart Search need motion detection on for each camera OR just motion in schedule weekly menu?

One or both need to be on for Smart Search?

Smart Search needs them because Smart Search is actually "Smart Motion Detect".

Hey I did not make this system but I am wallowing in it to make sense of it all.

I found that Smart Search depends on motion detection for each camera to be enabled in the Event menu. The Schedule menu does not have to have motion at all on a weekly basis for Smart Search to work.

Recap. For Smart Search to work you need to go to Events and click enable on the individual cameras Motion Detect.

Schedule which is under Storage Menu only needs Regular for weekly scheduling. Mine is on 24/7

This was a lot of work. I even took each camera off NVR and used configure software to double check settings on each ip camera.

It works now thanks everyone.
