Hello, I am in the process of setting up the 32CH DVR which I purchased. I have a few questions.

The box included a piece of paper saying that each camera needs to be connected one by for for IP addresses to be assigned. Is this true even with DVR, or does this only apply to NVR? Also, does the DVR need to be shutoff before connecting a camera?

Is there any sort of manual for the software that was included? The program that looks like it can connect to the DVR on your network. If so, where can I find out how to access the DVR from a computer on the network?

Thanks.

WinkWinkWinkLaughWinkGood morning Don, when connecting analog cameras you don't nessesarly need to connect 1 camera at a time, when using an NVR you will need to do so but I would still test each camera with its power supply before installing the camera also after running your cables I would take that extra step and test the runs for shorts and grounding that can happen while pulling cable. Here are some great articles on the initial set up.

Hope this helps have a great day.

Thank you for the prompt response and links. They were very helpful. I have another question.

The HDD light on the front of the DVR is not lit when powered on, even though I have installed a HDD. I would like to make sure this is normal before I connect all of the cameras.

I have another question as well. I currently have one camera hooked up and it looks great. However, when I connect an additionally camera, the first camera display has interference and lines going through it.

 Hello,

That is normal. The light will turn ON when the drive gets full.

Thanks

Hello, I have everything setup for the most part. However, I have a few more questions.

Under Encode:

1. when I change my FPS to 10 fps, and then return to the encode menu, it goes back to the default 30 fps. I want to make sure that it is only recording at that FPS. Is it normal for it to show the default settings?

2. How do i change the resolution? I only need to be recording at 640x470.

3. How do I set how many days to save footage on the hard drive? I need it to save for 45 days.

Your help would be appreciated. Thank you.

So I have solved the issue of FPS by watching one of your videos. It wasn't changing when I had "all" selected, but when I went to individual cameras, it did say it was recording at 10fps.

Remaining questions:

1. Lowest recording resolution I can do that meets 640x470 resolution?

2. Specify number of days for videos to be saved?
