I just received my HYBDVR-FE016480. I choose this model after reading the product specifications and manual.

After going through the Encode menu, the software only lets you choose a max of 2048 kbs of encoding yet the manual and product specifications clearly state IP:48-8192 Kb/s Analog:48-4096Kb/s.

Does anyone know if there are firmware updates for this? Mine is a year old.

The part the manual leaves out is that the certain resolutions can only go so low on the bit rate. If the DVR is not letting you lower the bitrate further then drop the resolution first. At least that is what I have found using theses DVR and NVRs .

No, you misunderstood.

I want to encode at 4096 which the manual says I can do. The GUI will only let me do 2048 no matter what.

Try changing frame rate too see if that makes a difference. Is this analog or IP camera?
